Fenwick

Fenwick as a brand has 8 locations across the country and was founded here in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This location is their flagship. The store has entrances on street level (Northumberland Street) as well as entrances from the mall. The store is open until 7 pm on most days, although opening hours can vary, this means they're generally open an hour later than John Lewis, which is the mall's other main department store. The store is fairly attractive, with modern and older parts and the selection again is reasonable. The renovation is starting to show which is ongoing to celebrate the store's 140th anniversary. The Food Hall area reminded me a little of a smaller version of Harrods, pricey for sure but they had a variety of items appearing to be high-quality, including some meats which looked of a fantastic quality. I much prefer the technology section at John Lewis nearby, however - although Fenwick for sure wins on the Food Hall side of things. 4*

Thank you again to two great sales ladies Lindsey and Helen in the electrical department…read moredownstairs. I bought a magimix food processor, it wasn't a straight forward sale as I had to take it abroad. Lindsey and Helen really bent over backwards to help me find the right size, the colour I wanted, to wrap it well to take it on a plane ..... They couldn't have been nicer. A real pleasure in doing business with sales staff like that and they definitely make you want to shop at the store again.

Bravissimo

I myself do not require large over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders....but if you do, this is the store…read morefor you. From what I can tell, there's not much choice or availability for the bustier ladies in other high street stores so a store that caters to them, seems logically. Bravissimo is dotted around here and there and makes quality, well-fitting bras that have nice designs and are decently priced (as quoted by my bosom buddy). The ladies in there are so helpful and nice, you don't need to feel embarrassed at all! | They are friendly to both customers and those tagging along (me) and they really give you a first class experience (so I am told). The store is a little tucked away from the main Eldon Sq. shopping centre but it makes for quieter shopping in the adjoining Eldon Garden shopping centre. The store brightly lit but not too stark white with space between the tidy displays. There's also fitting rooms and a fitting service available. I can only really tell you what I have seen in person when tagging along with friends and what they say but it is all 100% positive!

They are one of the few shops that I know of which stock fashionable bras in larger sizes - most bras I have seen for larger busted ladies are grannified and most young people wouldn't be seen dead in them! Anyway that's what I think makes this shop stand out against its rivals. Although their prices are around £20 per bra, they are definitely worth it. I used to be the sort of person who would by a basket-load of cheap bras from primark at £3 each but they hardly last five minutes and are usually ill-fitting. Nowadays I think you're best off buying just a few select bras from the likes of Bravissimo and they are much more comfy & will last you much longer than any cheap bras. the shop itself is very airy, the racks are set out well so you can see everything clearly and easily find your side. The ladies instore seem to know what they're doing and seem more determined to find your perfect fitting bra so you know they are not trying to palm you off with the rubbish ones just to meet targets! Overall I have had a good experience with this shop - their range is very good, their prices are reasonable for the service and fit you get, and the customer service is excellent.
