There's maternity and baby clothing, a toy section, nursery and feeding equipment and travel systems/buggies. It's one of the first places that many expectant parents go to when they're planning out their needs and it's a good place to start. The maternity clothing range isn't very exciting though not as frumpy as I remember it being a few years back and the quality is good. Their baby clothing is quite expensive, I think, including the new Baby K range from Myleene Klass. The store has two floors with stairs between and a lift in store for access between levels.

If you're not in a rush then they will order it online for you and deliver it to your home on standard delivery for free. However, they do have a good selection of basics including all of the ranges from feeding, bathing, sleeping, nursery items, maternity wear and products and gifts too. They also have a lot of pushchairs and buggies on display so you can see what you are buying. However, with it being inside the shopping mall i'm not certain how they go about checking the fit of carseats in your own car? although i have not asked about this. To be honest, i find that it is useful for smaller items but for anything larger or that i may need help with I always go to the larger store at the Team Valley after receiving extremely poor customers service at the metrocentre branch when my buggy needed repairing after only a few months. This may be because of the smaller size of the store, they have less staff, despite it still being very busy. This means that you often have to wait for an assistant and when you do get to speak to someone they are often rushing to get to speak to the next person waiting. Overall, I would say that the shop is very good if you know what you're after although I would go elsewhere or at a very quiet time if you think that you're going to need some advice.

It has pretty much most of what you'd expect to find from Marks and Spencer. The facilities inside the store are good and include a cafe, an optician and toilets. The Deli section did seem to be good, including freshly prepared salads, wraps and meals, but it did seem to be a little depleted later into the day. The store did appear to be a little understaffed, again this could have been due to it being the late afternoon, but it still was moderately busy on a Saturday. 4* - A nice store and a welcome addition to the shopping centre, the fact it is located right by the car park is handy too, to avoid carrying shopping around the mall.

The Cafe Revive is always busy and does a range of hot and cold snacks and cakes. There's plenty of seating available and you can sit and relax without feeling like the staff are waitign for you to hurry up and leave. It does extremely tasty toasted sandwiches! The store itself has a wide range of good quality men, women and children's clothing at affordable prices. They don't do maternity clothing. It also does home furnishings and furniture as well as household goods and some toys and gift ranges for Christmas time. It can be tricking finding a member of staff to ask about items/sizes/where to find stuff but they are helpful when located. It's a very busy, well used store.

Fenwick as a brand has 8 locations across the country and was founded here in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This location is their flagship. The store has entrances on street level (Northumberland Street) as well as entrances from the mall. The store is open until 7 pm on most days, although opening hours can vary, this means they're generally open an hour later than John Lewis, which is the mall's other main department store. The store is fairly attractive, with modern and older parts and the selection again is reasonable. The renovation is starting to show which is ongoing to celebrate the store's 140th anniversary. The Food Hall area reminded me a little of a smaller version of Harrods, pricey for sure but they had a variety of items appearing to be high-quality, including some meats which looked of a fantastic quality. I much prefer the technology section at John Lewis nearby, however - although Fenwick for sure wins on the Food Hall side of things. 4*

I bought a magimix food processor, it wasn't a straight forward sale as I had to take it abroad. Lindsey and Helen really bent over backwards to help me find the right size, the colour I wanted, to wrap it well to take it on a plane ..... They couldn't have been nicer. A real pleasure in doing business with sales staff like that and they definitely make you want to shop at the store again.

(As of October 2022) The mall offers free parking as well as having good public transportation links, it is around a 20-25 minute bus journey from Newcastle city centre, with an irregular train service, that pulls into the Metrocentre Interchange (attached to the shopping centre), which is even quicker. Anchor tenants include Marks and Spencer, Primark, Next, TK Maxx (featuring Homesense). There is also a large Odeon Cinema. Other stores include: Apple, Currys, WHSmith and many other large brands For a full list, you can check out their website: https://themetrocentre.co.uk/stores/category/shopping It is fairly easy to find your way around the mall, as the larger stores are signposted, if you're looking for a smaller store, it may be best to find out which of the larger stores is nearby, to make it easier to find though. There does tend to be a lack of staff around the mall to ask for help, which is disappointing. There is a good selection of food and drink options, mainly consisting of chains and fast food options, that have multiple outlets around the centre. For example, Costa and Starbucks have three stores, and Nando's have two. 4* - It may not be the prettiest mall in the world, with the centre surely showing its' age in the older parts of the mall, as it opened back in 1986, but it has a great selection of shops, in an indoor environment, well suited to a rainy, cold day.
