This is actually a pretty quiet country pub, and a pretty nice one at that. There is a large outdoor area, and also a terrace area out the front. We dropped in with 10 people unannounced and the staff were more than happy to set us up with tastings and give detailed explanations of their beers in spite of being obviously busy. There were a few issues with taps being out and a wait for some people's tastings but the friendly and engaging staff made up for this. The beers and ciders were all delicious. Even the stout that I usually won't touch was lovely. I'd recommend the bee sting which, incidentally, has apparently won a bunch of medals. The tasting plate costs as much as 2 pints, so despite it being costly compared to free wine tasting, I found it to be worth it. It was good to break up a day of wine wine and more wine, and was particularly enjoyed by those in our group that aren't huge on wine appreciation.
