Okay, it is located in a rather touristy area, and it certainly does have some charm as well. I thought that the scnitzel was, well, really, really good, but it also went further than that to have some nice beer selections as well. Yeah, this is certainly one of those pubs that I have no problem whatsoever returning to.

There were only three other tables of diners, but had to walk around the front to find staff to take orders and pour drinks, so we ordered a beef schnitzel with garlic prawn sauce and a beef schnitzel. So far so good, about 40 minutes later a table that ordered after us got their food...we waited...after about 10 mins more a bored waitress came in and the chap at that table said he had the wrong meal, a beef snit with garlic prawns...so I said i think that was supposed to be mine. She took his meal back and 5 mins later I received a piping hot (microwave?) beef snit. The guy at the other table looked and laughed that it looked familiar. My wife then received different meal than she ordered but by then we just wanted to eat n go. Between that, no aircon, 10000 flies not a hint of an apology the Brauhaus can suck it! What a dump.

It took us a…read morerecommendation from a nearby winery, finding some phone reception and good old google to track down, but it was well worth the effort. We dropped in with 10 people unannounced and the staff were more than happy to set us up with tastings and give detailed explanations of their beers in spite of being obviously busy. There were a few issues with taps being out and a wait for some people's tastings but the friendly and engaging staff made up for this. The beers and ciders were all delicious. Even the stout that I usually won't touch was lovely. I'd recommend the bee sting which, incidentally, has apparently won a bunch of medals. The tasting plate costs as much as 2 pints, so despite it being costly compared to free wine tasting, I found it to be worth it. It was good to break up a day of wine wine and more wine, and was particularly enjoyed by those in our group that aren't huge on wine appreciation. I'm looking forward to going back so I can match some of their beers with their tasty looking menu.

We ordered steak _well done, no blood_ and had to send it back 3 times. Each time it came out raw with blood running across the plate. Staff shrugged and said "steak is cooked with blood coming out, it's natural". Hygiene is non-existent - 0/10. The waitress had her fingers all over the food when she brought the plate out. After all the back-and-forth to the kitchen, we both got sick. It genuinely felt like something was done to the food. The staff stand around gossiping about customers loud enough for everyone to hear. When we raised the issues politely, we were treated like rubbish. To top it off, I received an aggressive, insulting email from the manager/owner saying we are no longer welcome, just for complaining about raw food and poor hygiene. *Food*: Undercooked, unsafe *Service*: Rude, unprofessional, gossipy *Hygiene*: Disgusting - staff touching food *Management*: Hostile and unaccountable Avoid at all costs. Made us sick and then banned us for speaking up.

Anyway, they had a nice beer on tap, which I certainly did appreciate, and the service wasn't too bad either. They also have quite a decent sized beer garden, but we ended up spending most of our time in the front bar, which was quiet, and really nice as well.
