My Wife and I before COVID, Attended Many Halloween and New Year's Eve Parties, And had Wonderful Experiences! Last Nights Halloween Party, Was Horrible! They had A DJ, Who was A Nasty Dude, Who was more interested in Stuffing His Face, Than actually playing Something other than Club Music! We complained to no avail! I even called The Next Day, And got A lame apology! If You are over 21, And have any concept of Good Music, Save Your Money! The Food was so-so! I as usual had to explain to The Bartender, how to make A Mud Slide! Which turned out to be The Highlight of The Evening! We left at 10 PM, Because of The Head Banging Music! Years ago, The Venue was full, This Time is was less than half full, Which should be a Clue of A Preview of what was to follow! Once more, MATURE ADULTS SAVE YOUR MONEY! Catering Hall on the water. Who was Baron DeKalb? Hell if I know, but he has a nice little catering hall on the water in Brooklyn that is operated by the Knights of Columbus. We've used this place a few times for company parties etc and for the price, you cannot beat the location. The parking lot is teensy, but the valet works miracles with the space. This is an older catering hall but looks nice and pretty well maintained - excellent for parties without breaking the bank. read more

Nice sized space for events -- like the Taste of Sheepshead Bay! Came here for the 2014 Taste of Sheepshead Bay and had a pretty cool time. The way the tables were placed made it hard to maneuver, but it also didn't help that some larger folks get up/sit with their chair all the way out, giving you no room to pass.. The set up was nice so that there was about 30 different vendors/restaurants from around the Sheepshead Bay area as well as a live band to fit. Looks a little dated, but for the crowd that showed up, it seemed fine. I would come again if there was another event help here. p.s. street parking is better, otherwise it's valet, but there also wasn't an abundance of spaces available for street parking. read more

Celebrated my niece bridal shower. Room was beautiful. Kids setting up food and room were great. Man that was in charge was rude. He was not welcoming. Need to change his attitude. Could set off a mood. They need to ban smoking indoors. Cigar and cigarettes smell. read more

This is MY FAVORITE PLACE to go in SHEEPSHEAD BAY for so many reasons. I am a Knight of Columbus and so I belong to this GREAT ORGANIZATION that I believe is helpful to a lot of people. Their charitable work is great. Also I've gone to their parties and been at some family parties when people celebrated a special event here, and the food and staff are all great too. BUT a very important thing about this KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS is the OVERALL ATMOSPHERE here also. It always looks AMAZING INSIDE and the VIEW OUTSIDE by the BAY IS EVEN MORE AMAZING!!! read more

Great catering hall, where the first-ever Taste of Sheepshead Bay was set. Friendly staff. They work hard at keeping the tables clean. Parking lot is tiny but there is a valet so all your parking woes are put aside as he does his thing. read more

Not great experiences. The hall is ok, it's nice that it's on the water... but I attended a wedding here, and they didn't handle it professionally at all. The staff seemed untrained. They had little idea how to handle the crowds of people, and general serving, taking of orders, etc. Also seemed very flustered most of the time. I have many food allergies, and they provided me with items that they claimed to be checked as safe, but were just the same as what everyone else got, meaning my throat swelled after eating the steak. At the end of the night, they had major sewage backups, and were not allowed to serve any of the wedding cake, or coffee/ tea. But they handled it poorly- they really upset the bride in how they handled it, and ended the party quite abruptly. The bartender was the only one who was on top of things, courteous, kind, and hardworking. I don't know what happened for the rest of the staff, bc he was reliable. read more

We had our wedding at Baron De Kalb in June. It was amazing. Baron took care of everything for us and were extremely accommodating. The space is really unique and has a lot of great features. The beautiful pier view and the large bar were perfect for our cocktail hour, and our guests had a great time. They also took care of the catering and did an amazing job. The food was excellent. Our guests kept raving about the food. There was so much food between the cocktail hour, tuscan station and buffet, we were all stuffed! My favorite was the skirt steak. The staff was on point with set-up, and running the event. Tommy took great care of us and made sure everything went off without a hitch. He was also very helpful while we were planning the wedding and met with us several times to make sure we had everything figured out. I would recommend this venue for anyone looking to host an event. Its a great location and the best value in Brooklyn. read more

We had my son's Baptism here in the room on the second floor on November 12th. We will never have another party here. They should get shades for those windows. The sun was blinding. There was no bread on the table, when my sister asked Michael for bread, he said if there's no bread on the table, you have to wait until it comes out. Two glasses broke and one of the little girls cut her lip on the broken glass. When we booked the room, we had a choice of 6 trays of food. When the food came out, I counted 5. Good thing I had the contract on me, sent my husband downstairs to ask Mike and he said it's because the count went under 50, you get 5 trays. He should have told me this when I dropped off the balance two weeks prior to the party. Very unprofessional and poor service. read more

Pier in the back is the main feature here. It must be very budget friendly, because this place is extremely no frills. If there is one good thing I can say about this place, they are not stingy with the food or drink they do have. read more

This is a nice huge space! I came here for the Taste of Sheepshead Bay in 2014. The location is great because you are right on the water but the parking lot is tiny. I would certainly consider booking into this place for an event because the location is great. I cant speak to the price but I did enjoy it! read more

came here last week for the first (hopefully of many) "Taste of Sheepshead Bay" event. thanks to Peter D for the hookup with tickets from Yelp! hilariously, when I told my mom I was going here, she said, "that place is still around?" - her friend got married here ages ago. and when I listed off the places that would be providing food at the event, she also said, "those places are still around?!" pretty spacious and nice little catering hall. old-school Brooklyn feel. in fact I'm fairly sure I was dragged here a few times as a youngin for communions, weddings, and whatnot, but alcohol has since dulled my once-sharp memory. the bar area is huge. there was a pool table that they covered up for people to eat on. there's a tiny valet parking lot, but the kid managed to fit Astrotrain in there. read more

Horrible Service. Overcharged. Encounter dishonest people. I was charge so much taxes and gratuities (almost 20%). Service was the worst. They use teenagers as waiters and charge so much money. One of my guest was robbed and later "someone at the place" return the wallet without the money that was inside. Please do yourself a favor, do not go close to this place. The owner is a crook he charged me $700 for one extra hour. He caused me to start my event late because there was a previous event & they took a long time to clean up which messed up my set up time. He is very unprofessional, throughout the event he kept reminding me every hour what time it was.I would never recommend this venue to anyone. read more

A non-profit organization should not charge taxes. The money I was charged was a donation to the Knights of Columbus, I was told this by a Knights member. I came back to change arrangements as more than one Knights member informed me of my rights and advised me to go back to these guys and make my request. These guys at Knights of Baron operate on their own premise. They are not following the practices of the Knights of Columbus. This is a Catholic organization and Michael in particular is not an honest person. I did not request a refund, I was offered a refund, thank God! I was offered a refund because these guys wanted to show me that I was not going to get what I wanted. The refund was offered to hurt me not help me! However, it helped me have a wonderful event with Honest people. Be careful when you represent yourself as a man of God and lie, and cheat, God knows who you really are! read more
