I booked this appointment a week ago and completed all the paperwork they sent me. My first appointment was scheduled for 2:00. I got there at 1:45 and nobody was at the front desk. I sat there for 15 minutes before anyone came out. When they did they were not welcoming or friendly. The receptionist proceeded to ask me if anyone told me they don't accept United Healthcare. I told her no, and that UH is the one who referred me to their office. She just looked at me and didn't even apologize. They have had my paperwork all this time and they waited until I came in to tell me they don't accept my insurance! I am in pain and really needed this appointment today and today is my only day off of work and now I have to start all over again looking for a doctor. I needed a chiropractor, so I checked my insurance for an 'in network' provider. Barnick was on the list for in network providers, so I made an appointment. The first information I was asked to provide was my insurance company and plan. When I arrived for my appointment, I was asked to complete a questionaire. I did so and returned it to the receptionist and then down to wait. Very shortly after that, the receptionist called me back to the desk. She asked me if anyone had gone over their deposit requirement. I told her no one had. She told me that their office policy is to collect $200.00 from new patients "to cover anything insurance doesn't." I explained my benefit coverage, but was told I hadn't met my deductible so I still had to pay the deposit. I told her I wouldn't be staying and left. My points are these: 1) the deposit policy should be discussed with new patients when appointments are made. Ambushing people at the time of their appointment is unprofessional. 2) I provided my insurance information the day before my appointment. If anyone had bothered to call my insurance company, they would have been told I was covered 100%. But, that courtesy was not afforded me. That, also, was unprofessional and it was dismissive. The staff and Dr. Barnick are very kind and friendly. The care I received from his partner was not quite my style, but I decided to try a couple more appointments just to see if it was any different. The office contacted me to follow up, this was in a Thursday, we scheduled an adjustment and massage for the next day at noon. The next morning they text me saying there was a schedule conflict and asked if I could reschedule. I told them to just cancel. It went in a few circles of them not wanting to just cancel, but just reschedule. Basically, they would keep the appointment if it meant canceling all together. I told them that should have been considered prior to contacting me to reschedule an appointment I set less than 24 hours ago. My entire running career started in 6th grade with road racing. I consider my peak to be qualifying for the 2014 Boston marathon by running a 3:18 in the Portland Marathon in 2012 at the age of 44. During the entire span of time, I DESPISED stretching despite always being tight, especially in the hamstrings, and upper back and shoulders. All this caught up to me in the 2010's when my late wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. I used running as a relief value, and punished myself when I hit the wall knowing my suffering pales in comparison; stretching be damned! I started feel sciatic nerve pain down my left leg while sleeping in a recliner recovering from the flue while my late wife was on chemotherapy treatments. I experience the pain before in the office as years of sitting at the computer caused similar pain resulting in getting more ergonomic chairs and sit/stand solutions. The pain didn't go away though, therefore my PCP ordered X-Ray's then MRI's, and then referral to physical therapy, then pain management. This was pushed to the back burner as I was a caregiver until 2016 when she died. The darkness didn't end for my until 2021 when my beautiful fiancé ( whom referred me to Dr. Barnick, btw), and I reacquainted and fell in love! This is when I started advocating for my own health, mentally and physically. I moved to Vancouver last year from Albany, Oregon. It's been tough the last few years to find medical professionals, however I did find a great PCP and the Vancouver Clinic. We have made some progress is pain relief with prescribed massage therapy, hydrotherapy, OMT, and various things I have tried on my own to relief pain ( Inversion table, too many back device with / without heat/ vibration , spinal roller types, TENs devices, Massage guns, acupuncture, etc.). My pain level prior was around a 7 or 8 all day and night. At this point pain wise I was at a 2-3 at the start of the day, and then back to a 7 - 9 by 6pm. One day driving around Vancouver, I saw a sign for a Chiropractor that triggered a memory as I had since Chiropractors in the past, most recently while training for the 2012 Portland marathon for the sciatic nerve pain. My fiancé referred me to Barnick Chiropractic, --"Music cue: superhero intro!" Shaneice was my first contact over the phone scheduling an appointment that was father out then I expected, however she offered to put me on a waiting list for any opening. Shaneice is amazing! She is always pleasant, efficient, and knowledgeable.. even at 7:30am!. I know that other care coordinators have worked on my back when I can't see them, or helped me with scheduling but they are also very wonderful. I saw Dr Solé first. I explained in long detail my pain story. He listened, asked follow questions, did his evaluation, and then started working on me. I can't remember all the magic spells he did on me as I was in painful bliss feeling movement in my back, hips, upper back & neck, and feeling pain melt away! Leaving the office I was expecting the pain to come back within a few minutes in the truck, but I didn't! Later in the day, my back tightened up again, and at last the pain came back.. .but there is now hope! I saw Dr Barnick the next Tuesday, and went through the evaluation, massage, and treatment.. again mind blowing to feel the release of tension everywhere in my body, but especially where the pain is targeted, low back. We came up with a treatment plan, and every visit I spine feels looser, less pain, and more mobility. The last visit was the kicker! My right shoulder has been bothering me, and Dr. Barnick recommended setting up time with Scott, one of the massage therapists on staff. OMG! I didn't know how painful it is to getting your hip flexors "massaged", but the bliss when the tightness released. Same for the hamstrings, and any other tight muscle he could find! Wanted to update my previous review. I broke my rib in a snowboarding accident a couple of weeks ago and went to see Dr. Barnick at my wife's insistence. To be honest, it's the second time in my 40 years of life going to a chiropractor. I've always been agnostic about the profession. I started by seeking help from Dr. Barnick for my rib. I also have an impinged right shoulder, a bulged left disk in my lower back which causes chronic pain, and residual pain in my neck from a big snowboarding accident years ago. I didn't realize Roger would be able to help with all of these issues. My insurance pays for ten visits a year and I'm seeing Roger every week until they run out. After that, I will continue to come in regularly. I didn't realize how affordable and quick a chiropractic appointment is! I did my research and for someone with my issues, regular chiropractic maintenance produces the best outcomes because of the body's tendency to return to its previous "out of adjustment" state. I can't tell you what a difference a couple of weeks (twice a week) have made! I feel physically better than I have felt in years. My neck pain is virtually gone, my lower back feels significantly better, and I can raise my right arm higher than I've been able to in over six months and without pain which is amazing. All thanks to Dr. Barnick. Today I got a one hour therapeutic massage from Tami. It was my first ever massage. Dr. Barnick (and my wife) recommended it for my injuries. I'd be lying if I didn't say I was a little skeptical. The experience was amazing! I felt so comfortable throughout and Tami makes you feel like you've known her for years. The price of the massage is very reasonable and I bought two massages with Tami for my wife for Valentine's Day. From Shaneice at the front desk, to Dr. Barnick and everyone else I've met at the clinic, I highly recommend Barnick Chiropractic to anyone in the greater Vancouver community. Did a little research on Yelp before I scheduled an appointment. I'm in town for a week and needed an adjustment. I called the office and they were able to get me in quickly. Their staff was accommodating to my specific needs and scheduled 2 appointments back to back to help my mom as well. Both of us were very impressed with Dr. Barnick. I was having some neck pain and some other general soreness and stiffness. Dr. Barnick worked on it until I felt that he had addressed my concerns. He was attentive professional. The girl up front quoted me $50 dollars for an adjustment and I have blue cross blue shield regence insurance which is the best, they still said they needed the full $50 dollars from me on my very first visit, so I paid them and then said I won't be returning until they figured out my insurance because I don't think I should pay the full price Everytime I come in when I have high quality insurance, instead of figuring out my insurance and retaining me as a weekly customer, they instead kept my 50 bucks and sent me another bill for an additional $112 dollars, these people are scam artist don't trust them, I manage one of the biggest companies in the area with over 1,000 employees and I will be putting out a memo for everyone not to use this chiropractor and for anyone to discontinue using this company due to shady business practices and I will be posting all over Vancouver and Hazel Dell and surrounding areas with flyers for people not to use this chiropractor. read more

Wow!! Dr. Solé has improved my overall well-being ten fold and I've only had 3 adjustments from him so far. Not only does he do cranial sacral work, but also can adjust limbs as well, which is something that can be hard to find in chiropractic at times. Three weeks ago I woke up with pretty sharp pains in my lower back. It had been an issue I'd dealt with for several years that reared its head two or three times a year. Many times it would subside but this time it seemed a bit more persistent...It had come back several times over the course of a month or two. The bad news was I had a vacation coming up. I called the office with three days to spare and a 6 hour flight to look forward to. They got me in that day and I felt instant relief. I came in the day before departure and again felt better afterwards. I was able to do my trip without any issues. Dr. Barnick also took the time to tell me how to achieve my goals and deal with my work needs as well, which would help me long term past this trip. The great thing about Dr. Barnick, as well as the new partner Dr. Bowers, is that they are professional, personal, and efficient. A few years ago I went to another chiropractor and felt like it was an assembly line, and the goal seemed like it was more to get me in as many times as possible. With Barnick chiropractic the focus is what I needed to do to get better and prevent further issues by reasonable maintenance and preventing the problem. They aren't telling me that in order to be healthy I need to be there three times a week for the next 6 months. It's a reasonable plan for good spinal health and dealing with the rigors of my work. Have had great success with my treatment. Have not gone to a chiropractor for many years, but I sure picked the right one. Have had great success and am feeling much better. Have a ways to go, but it's not like I got in this shape in two weeks, so it won't be fixed in two weeks. I've had trouble with my right shoulder for 30 years. After having two kids and dealing with back pain that was so bad I couldn't sit in certain chairs, I decided to try a chiropractor. This was not an easy decision. I tried everything else. Massages. Yoga. Heating pads. Ice packs. Even medication. I knew that if I went back to my regular physician I would either get more medication or tests or referred to a specialist. I talked to many people and they said to try chiropractic care. We searched for one our insurance supported and was close to home. After walking in and chatting with everyone in the office, I felt at ease and hopeful that my back pain would go away. The doctor wanted to talk about my history with pain and what I was wanting from the care. I was nervous and worried that it wouldn't help and the doctor was very reassuring and kind about my worries. My back pain restricted a lot of what I wanted to be doing. Simplest things like playing on the floor with my kids was impossible without sharp shooting pains. I even developed pain in the arch of my foot (which I can happily say is gone after only going for a week). I have now been going to see Dr. Barnick for two weeks now (6 visits) and I am already feeling better and being able to pick up my 2 year old better than before. My kids love cuddles and to be held and piggy backs. I now can pick them up with pain. I'm still in the beginning of my treatment but I am so excited now for no more pain. I now experience pain minimally (mostly right after waking up: feeling stiff). Also, I have been sleeping so much better! It's been years since I've slept through the night (even when my kids do). I have more energy during the day now that I get a good nights sleep. I highly recommend Dr. Barnick.
