I am happy to say that the nice folks at Gerber Collison in Brunswick recommended Bob and his staff at Barnes Auto, in Brunswick. Years ago I had an older car towed to Bob. It needed a new fuel pump. I wasn't going to drop the gas tank on a gravel driveway. Bob called me up prior to replacing the pump. He informed me that the PCM (power control module, the main computer) was bad. And since that part wasn't available he suggested scraping the car. A Saturn station wagon with approximately 295,000 miles had served me well. Lots of other places would have been happy to charge me hundreds of dollars to replace the fuel pump and then call me with the bad news. I recommend Bob and his staff at Barnes Auto to anyone looking for an honest shop where INTEGRITY is more important than a making a quick dollar. Thank you very much Bob, Tammy and the techs in back. I had Bruce take a look at an engine check light, Trac sensor, and road vibration issues on my 2004 Toyota Sequoia. Bruce was able to identify the engine check light to an O2 sensor and the need for new tires and turning of my rotors. He got on the issues he could handle, which were the tires and rotors. So I sat there for over an hour just so they could tell me "yeah, can't be patched". Waste of my time. Then they took the plastic nozzle cap off the tire, and I had to ask for another one. I do not have anyone to give me a ride, so I let them know I would be waiting. Walking in the door, there were 3 people at the counter looking at their screens. And the garage area was blasting with Rap Music full of fowl language. Very unprofessional to say the least. I made a comment to the front desk girl about how loud the music was and she stated that is how the technicians like it and it keeps them happy. Wow! This music was very offensive. And is there no consideration for the customer, who is paying for a service and providing payment to the employees. So, I said nothing more, tolerated it and sat down in a filthy lounge area. The cleanest chair was full of food, hair and pure nastiness. After thirty minutes, I had to get on a conference call with a customer. To be courteous to other 'victims' in the waiting area, I went outside. It was even worse. There was no escaping this lovely set up. I proceeded to walk down the side of the building to go towards the back, where I could have a phone conversation. As I walked down the side of the building, it was a pleasant journey stepping over discarded trash and even a few dirty diapers. Fast forward, I had been waiting 2 1/2 hours at this point. Asked the front desk person what was going on with my car as it was just sitting the rack. Waiting a while longer. All this time I was waiting, I had ask to be told they could not remove the oil pan plug and were afraid the pan would crack. I suggested a lubricant like WD40. She laughed it off. But, guess what, google it. That is an option to attempt. Needless to say after a 4 hour stay at the most unhappy and disgusting place. I did not get an oil change. Usually the customer care expectations start at the top of the food chain. Brunswick Firestone is apparently lacking good management and no one cares about service, whether it happens or not. Firestone Corporate, you really need to take a good look at this store. BTW - This use to be my go to place. What is the world happened? Zero stars would be more appropriate.

I want to know what they do with that time, certainly not do any productive work. To start, I made an appointment for 2 PM Wednesday to have 4 tires replaced and an alignment done. I was going to wait on it and after handing over my keys, I left to walk around the area. I returned at 3:30 to find my truck was not even moved, still in the parking lot, untouched. I asked about it, and was told it was next on the list. Then informed it would be about 45 minutes to have the work done. I made the appointment so I'd be able to pick my kids up from school around 3:30 and get to their after-school activities. Not possible to get tires done that day. Was told to show up at opening next morning and they'll take care if it. Lucky me, I could get off work! 8 AM next day, they take the keys and I watch them drive my truck back to bay. I expected it to be about 45 minutes, as was mentioned earlier. TWO HOURS!!! I was almost driven to tears, still am having spent those two hours in an abhorrent pit of purgatory, not to mention the additional hour and a half of absolute waste of time and nothing done the previous day. I couldn't make eye contact with any employee because if I did, a long long string of profanity would have ensued and I promised my wife I would be better about that. Originally, I checked out a National Chain's website and found 4 tires on the site installed for…read more$488. I set an appointment on-line and waited for confirmation. The next morning, I got a call from them saying they didn't have the tires I had selected on line at my particular location. So I went into the shop itself and spoke with the guys there. While the tire they wanted to substitute was only $12 more, the entire thing was going to cost me almost $800. I asked what happened to the $488 price I was quoted on line and they started in with the song and dance. Needless to say we left and ended up at Duckworth. As soon as we walked in and asked about tires for my car, William immediately gave me a quote, installed, balanced and all for under $500. When my husband said our other car needed tires as well, William threw in alignments for both cars (value of about $120) free. So we ended up getting new tires for both cars for under $1,000... no fuss, no upcharging, no big sales push to get us into buying other maintenance plans. The best part was that while they were working on my car, I asked them about my tail light - which was out - and the mud-flap that was loose and told them to call me with the cost to replace the bulb and repair the mid-flap. The mudflap they couldn't repair, but they replaced the bulb for free! Now that's service.
