Good Books in the Woods in a used bookstore in a house in The Woodlands. Watch your step as you explore because several time I stepped off a small step too hard because I was looking around in awe and not watching where I was walking. When I say this is a book maze I'm not joking--but you should definitely go get lost in it. Cheers to the proprietor who was so patient with us every time we needed help finding something. This shop has both new and used books, along with some craft items from local sellers along the front windows. Though the sections for each genre are a little smaller there's a good selection of books to choose from. The shop is bright and airy with places to sit and read in a quiet space if you feel so inclined, and you just may be graced with the bookstore cat Luna's presence if you decide to do so. She was very sweet and made the experience all the better. Just make sure to heed the sign on the front door to not let her outside! I'm a huge advocate for supporting local bookstores, and I highly recommend you visit this one!

My daughter and I walked into this book store on a weekday, looking for a couple books (children's…read morebooks) and they had it all. In the children section is labeled specifically, Disney, tv/movies and so forth. Everything else in the store is labeled the same and accurate for the most part. There's also a couple chairs and seats as well as a table if you have a need for that and not to mention they have restrooms in the back. As far as service, nobody really stood out or greeted us, I guess we were just busy looking for our books to notice. As far as pricing, it may very well be half price books, but some books seem a bit pricy. They have very old beat up books that go for the same price as newer gentler used books so not always fairly priced I'd say.

The books are sorted into dozens of nooks and crannies that are clearly labeled by genre. Even though the piles of books can seem intimidating at first, it's actually very easy to find what you're looking for and simultaneously stumble upon something new and unexpected. I love that there are comfortable reading chairs hidden among the shelves, making this a very welcoming place to stay awhile. Their sign advertises that they buy, sell, and trade books, which I have missed doing since the old Half Price Books left our area a few years ago. Being Gen-X, I was raised on reading actual books and loved visiting our local library or small…read morebook stores in the mall. When big box book stores came around in the late 90's, they were magnificent but lacked the charm of a smaller more personal book store. Books Abound is a hidden treasure that took me down memory lane and I am so thankful for finding it! The owner, Jeff and his cute dog, Daisy greeted us and we felt like valued guests the moment we walked in, so that was something very different when compared to a lot of the remaining retailers. There were thousands of wonderful pre-owned books organized properly by category and then within the category, by authors. We have to been to some other book stores such as Half Priced Books that didn't care to take the time to have their items neatly presented or have the selection that gave us a chance to revisit our cherished childhood diving into a good book as Books Abound did for us. I found several titles I loved as a young child and young teen so I picked them up as gifts for our friends and their families and I even found an entire collection of the History of the Civil War from Time Life Books that have those beautiful embossed covers which I dreamt of reading and owning but couldn't afford so I had to buy all 28 books of that collection as another gift. I could not have been more happier nor delighted with this wonderful little book store and I highly recommend anyone to visit and if they too, love good, honest to goodness books to enjoy with their families. Tip: please remember to stop by the ATM or get some cash back on a debit card transaction and bring cash as that's how they keep the costs down. A+ first-class experience and a wonderful nostalgic feeling with this outstanding shop.
