With my teen planning on becoming an astrophysicist, I wanted to look at books about space. Really look at them. Not take a gamble and buy from Amazon. The women who helped me knew so much about that section. She offered many helpful ideas. Did I spend a bit more than I would have on Amazon or B&N down the street? Perhaps. But I wouldn't have gotten that kind of help at B&N or any help at all had I purchased online. They had a great selection for an independent bookstore. Definitely a great place for some Christmas shopping

You won't get online prices, but the value of shopping here far outweighs the monetary costs. The staff is always friendly and always offering to help you pick your next read. They have AMAZING community events--there was one week where I swear, I had to make the drive, like 3 times because the lineup was SO GOOD! And they do cool things like bookmark designing contests, bingo cards to help you read outside of your comfort zone, and the dopest book fairs.

Locally owned and operated by people who actually like books. They have something for many tastes. A small store, meaning the selection is kind of limited. It has a lot of the current best sellers. There's also the niche stuff. Pretty organized and easy to find categories. There's books on a variety of topics. A few are ones that are hard to find. Has a pretty good children's section. Can't find everything one wants but has quite a bit. The prices are okay for being independent and local. Cool place to look around. It has pretty good prices. The hours are kind of limited but they're open most days such as weekends.

If you remember the longtime location that was on the corner of Washington and Chicago, it's almost impossible not to compare the two: both are two stories; I didn't even see the cafe here, though supposedly according to the internet there is one; and there is very little space to sit, which I suppose is why several adults were parked in the picture book section on a few of the only pieces of furniture in the building (blocking me from being able to shop for books for my nephew). This location doesn't seem to sell blu-rays, but there is a large puzzle and game area upstairs. The B&N "modern" aesthetic cracks me up, because the blond wood and silver sans serif font reminds me of '90s era Borders (RIP), back when B&N was going for the grandfatherly library vibe. Everything old is new again, I suppose. They have a nice array of books: adults downstairs, kids and teens upstairs. Everything was fairly organized on a weekend (in retail some shops look like a tornado hit them on a Saturday). Some tenacious staff were able to help me find an item that was supposed to be in stock but we couldn't find initially. Regarding accessibility, when you first come in there's immediately both a ramp and steps to get up to the main level of the shop, and if you go all the way to the back on the right side you will find the elevator (there's also a staircase in the center). Parking is never ideal in downtown Naperville, and both going and coming we had to deal with someone idling on Jackson in their car partially blocking the space we were to use. Overall, a nice store if you can brave the location.

They have paint, for those crafting or school projects with your kiddos, they have UNO card game, and puzzles galore! If you're looking for a game and then don't have it, they can special order it for you. Rooms with large tables to play games with others-sign up online to do that. What a fantastic way to meet someone with similar interests! For a quick gift, they even have Squishmallows-they're so FLUFFY! I also think it has pretty good value. They don't overprice books but it's pretty comparable to bookstores near by. For all I have said this bookstore sounds great but I think they have a big problem. Selection. I mean it's ok but I buy Y/A books and they do not have much. It seems as if they just bought the books that were on clearance because tons of the books just aren't interesting. I'm not very sure what to rate this because this is a close gap between a 3 and a 4. It's just good but not great.
