I wish our (Loveland, CO) B&N was this big. I stopped by the "Current Affairs" racks and was fascinated to see that the shelves are stocked entirely differently than my local B&N. Yes, there is some overlap, but not much. If "what sells" is guiding the stocking of each store, it reveals that the good people of Lubbock have a lot more common sense. Let's just say that Thomas Sowell isn't a big seller where I live. read more

The staff at checkout was very friendly. I didn't see many staff members when I was in the store. There was a wide variety of different types of books with all different prices. They have a Starbucks inside with seating all around. It's always very busy since it's connected to the mall. read more

I enjoy the wide selection on vast amounts of interest. The staff is there to direct or answer questions when help is needed. The store is accomodating and laid out well to make it interesting and easy to make the selections. read more

It's a larger than average B&N than others, they offer the usual variety of books, DVDs and board games. Sometimes you can find a manga that isn't widely available. The main reason this isn't 5 stars is that the bathroom can be dirty or clean (advise your own risk). read more

there are no chairs on the upper floor. I went to buy a cookbook and there is no where to sit to scan the books. there are chairs at the Starbucks Cafe down stairs but it is inconvenient and tiring to have to lug books up and down the stairs if your shopping for book subjects on the 2nd floor. most of the time all.of those chairs are filled anyway with coffee drinkers chatting so you are left standing the whole.time.you are there. they have mazes of tables thru out the top floor. this I assume is to keep kids from running but what a pain for adults. there are less teens hanging out. it is less welcoming and not set up to enjoy the books like before. sad read more

This Barnes & Noble is by far the dirtiest store I've been too. We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathroom, and children's book area. I can understand that it's an older building and sometimes people can be messy, but this wasn't just that. They could easily do some updates, and shampooing of carpets. So gross!!! read more

I like books and this is basically any B&N you'll go to. Good store, employees I interacted with were nice. Had a good selection of games, some of which have been sold out at target for a while now. read more

We went to Lubbock for a dr appointment and we stopped in at Barnes & Nobles to look around. Very nice. Very clean. Staff was very helpful. The only downfall was the loud, rude, drugged out teenagers ( one was snorting cocaine, another falling down saying she was too high) that were everywhere and no one did anything about it. When it was mentioned to staff they replied yeah we know, it's Saturday night. Really? You can't kick out the teens so everyone else can shop in peace? Other than the obnoxious teens it was very nice. read more

I've always loved this Barnes and Noble, however I had an unpleasant visit today. I bought a candle for my sister-in-law, and as I was getting to my car I noticed it had broken in the box. I walked back to the store asking to exchange it (granted they were about 10 minutes from closing), and I was met with a bit of hostility. I asked if I could exchange it very quickly because I noticed it had broken, and a sales associate looked at me and said they didn't sell candles. I was really confused and surprised to receive a lie as such. I really wish the employees were a little more familiar with the inventory. read more

This is a nice Barnes & Noble. They have great customer service and you can grab a cup of coffee and just relax by picking a cool book out. They will help you find a book for you too read more

Living in an area with no bookstore, it was nice to come in and have an abundance of books to browse and choose from. My littles also really enjoyed the children's book section. read more

So. I ordered a blackberry ice tea. The lady told me that they did not serve those. I told her that I had seen them advertised on their posters around the mall. She told me I was mistaken. There is a sign right outside of barns and nobles clearly stating the types of tea they had including blackberry. This Starbucks employees never seem to know the menu. It's a 2 story Barnes and nobles. It's got a nice open set up. It's pleasant and has something for everyone. Get a coffee, get a book, and get comfy and escape from the troubles that are on your mind. The bargain book section is always nice to peruse through. I spent a couple hours wandering the store and looking for my next new book to read. Often enough I was asked if I needed help finding something, so the staff was friendly and helpful when I had a question. read more

I love reading, but my busy nursing school schedule makes it difficult for me to always get to a bookstore, especially with mall traffic at South Plains, so I find Amazon is easiest for me to order books. On my day off, I decided to have a nice relaxing day and go to Barnes & Noble and get a book to read. Before I had even spoken a single word to the cashier while checking out my book, she immediately condescendingly asked if I was going to be using my Barnes & Noble membership to buy this book. And I said no, unfortunate I don't have one. And she replied, again condescendingly, "don't shop with us that often, huh?" And I explained my busy schedule and finding Amazon to be a more convenient fit for me most days. And she, condescendingly, lectured me about how terrible monopolies are (as if Barnes & Noble were some local bookstore I was putting out of business). I honestly wanted to tell her to put my book back on the shelf and that I'd just go order it on Amazon, but I was the bigger person and bought my book and told her to have a nice day. I felt it was very unprofessional as well as uncalled for. I came to buy a book when I had time, because I do realize the value of going to a bookstore when I actually have time to. But she ruined the experience with her condescend comments and judgements and it makes me not want to return. read more
