    Starbucks cafe

One of my favorite places to go. Being the closest and accessible bookstore from center city Philadelphia and surrounded by shopping malls, movie theaters, restaurants and Wegmans, this is the place to relax and unwind with some coffee and magazines. If you are from Philly you know that the only Bn is downtown with barely any parking available, and if so costs $$. The cafe with chairs is located in the second floor completely cut off from magazine stands. Pain in the ass to even find a chair. If you suffer from the same problem, you will find yourself here. I don't know how long BN will last in such a competitive market now that no one really buys books, but I hope it will stay strong and be here when I have kids. It's still better to buy a new book and read the crisp pages than to digitally swipe across a kindle/iPad/nook. It's just not the same. Nor is it the same when you visit second hand book stores where all the books are bent, torn, faded and yellowed beyond recognition. Support your BN!

The cashier literally did not engage me and my partner- she didn't engage the folks that came in the store before us either. Both sets of patrons - literally begging to purchase something. Its perfectly fine to have extremely overpriced items because we were looking to do nothing more than purchase them. But nothing online was in the store.... NOT ONE TEASHIRT!! - to make matters worst... it was freezing!! I called to make sure the establishment was open.. no answer... only a text reply to get there and see this girl in a silent empty shop ... sis you could have answered. Ill be back... but without the excitement.

Books are nicely displayed. Customer service was professional, knowledgeable, and with a smile. When books are purchased they are wrapped in twine which added a beautiful touch. The value of the books were reasonably priced. The trolley tour was amazing!! I was able to experience stores in the city I was not aware of. And the host incredible!! Her energy, style, positive vibes were such a treat! I can't wait to do the tour again!!

The prices are very inexpensive. The sales person was very nice. They greeted at me as soon as I walked in. They were also knowledgeable about the books. The store looks small from the outside, but it is a labyrinth inside that goes to the back of the building.

The books are in good condition and well-organized with clearly labeled shelves and sections. The CD section oddly didn't seem to be organized in any way though - not by genre or even in alphabetical order by artist. I found it impossible to find anything I was specifically looking for, and I gave up. If you're looking to just browse though and not find a specific artist, give it a look. I found fewer newer titles here than I typically do in other used bookstores in the city, but that' s likely due to the fact that they get most of their books as cast-offs from the city library system and outright donations. I was initially confused about where to locate the prices on the books, until I came across the sign on the sales floor explaining the system. I wish it was posted more prominently right when you enter to save people the confusion. You can't beat the more than reasonable prices though. The employees are friendly and helpful, and they have a couple bookstores cats, which I love. Definitely worth a visit when you're in the neighborhood!
