I had always heard about Lost Worlds Brewing…read more Well ... not always. It wasn't as though people stopped me on the street and shouted, "Hey, man! Have you heard about Lost Worlds?!" I imagined that being a long-coated homeless man grabbing my arm while shouting the above, but a homeless man couldn't afford a beer--unless he was homeless because he was an alcoholic (he begs for change until he can afford a beer.) But if that happened, would the staff at Lost Worlds kick him out? Tough call. It's a friendly and efficient staff but they would have to choose between friendly to one or comfortable for all. Fortunately, I have yet to experience this dilemma. Not referring to being homeless due to alcoholism (still possible) but coming across a homeless alcoholic in a long coat at Lost Worlds. Every time I have been here, it's laidback. Trying to stay away from beer due to fitness (drinking other things) but they do have some great beers on tap. The best value is Kama. Get that one. In an effort to help someone else out, if you see Gianni Trattoria it's behind it. The door is not facing the parking lot but the back of Gianni Trattoria. Lots of group seating. Very loud. Good vibes. On one side is where you order your food on the other side is where you can order alcoholic drinks. My group was consistent with the food being okay, nothing exciting. They all really enjoyed their drinks. As there was no actual door I was chilled while there, it was a rainy and cool night. The rest of my group wasn't bothered though. I saw groups, families with kids and couples. Everyone appeared to be having a great time. This was a good spot for us to meet with our group of 6 people. It was easy to find seating that accommodated all of us.

This visit was to try out their Cabarrus County's March Burger Madness entry that run the entire month of March. But they always have food on sight. You order at the bar and they send a text to your phone to pick up at the food window. Bartenders and staff have always been friendly and helpful. Add them to your social media watch list to keep up to date with what's happening!! They are always planning great events that are family friendly.

Just open the door by the Red Hill sign and go up that lengthy staircase. Once you reach the top of the steps the space just really opens up. The layout is great with lots of seating. It's big enough for indoor cornhole even! The beer: I tried two of theirs - The Murph IPA was a my favorite, followed by Pinky and the Brine, a watermelon Gose. I also had two of their guest beers from Railwalk Brewery - Patio Time, a Pina Colada Blonde and Hazed and Confused, a Hazy IPA clocking in at 8.5% ABV - they were decent but I far preferred Red Hill's own stuff. So why is there a picture of my bloody leg? Some dodo put a floor fan right in front of the bar where I tripped over it and cut my leg. No bueno. Only once I complained was it moved. I did shoot the owner an email - he responded right away, took it very seriously and promised to train his taproom staff how to better handle customer injuries. Cool place - solid beer - and hopefully no more fans on the floor to trip over - lol!

Basically, its one narrow room with a bar running down the right side, and a little alcove in the back left that leads to a miniscule back patio area. It's not in my usual neighborhood hangout but easy to get to and in a good area by the university. Plenty of parking in the lot and they had a tamale food truck on site when I arrived. I ordered a soft drink from the bar and sat at a high top. It's a large open space inside and they have a good amount of patio seating too. There was a chess club going on and then later in the evening they hosted music bingo, so they definitely have a good lineup of regular activities going on. The bee was fun, a little short, but it's always interesting to learn new words, meet new people etc. I ordered some birria tacos from the food truck and enjoyed those. Overall it was a pleasant time. Not sure if I would make my way out here regularly but could be nice to add to the mix every now and then. @azfitfoodfun
