DO NOT give this place your credit card!!! You will have to fight to get your money back every month after you cancel. They owe me for 5 months ! I am disputing it with my credit card company. I do not trust them with my dog after hearing the other dogs screaming and crying in the back with only one girl working the whole shop. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. My boyfriend picked up our dog from this awful place. Wanting to get her groomed before Christmas/our Christmas card pictures. Spoke with Zack the owner who was extremely unprofessional and not compassionate what so ever. Tried explaining to me that they had to cut her short because of matting when they didn't even attempt to finish her ears or her paws. This is an unacceptable grooming job. I have numerous pictures of her having to go short from other groomers that did an amazing job. This wasn't in the slightest of being in that realm. Zack wouldn't refund my money and the damage they've done to my dog.. or should I say what they couldn't finish. Absolutely terrible. Now I have to find another groomer before the holidays. My family and I have been loyal customers of BarkSuds Westchase since their grand opening two years ago. We have supported them and recommended their services to many friends and family members. Unfortunately, after a terrible experience yesterday, we can no longer support this establishment. The quality of service at BarkSuds Westchase has significantly declined, and there seems to be a high turnover rate among the staff. It has become increasingly difficult to get in touch with them, and I had to call the other Tampa location just to book an appointment at Westchase. We took our 15 lb mini Goldendoodle for grooming yesterday, which usually takes around 2 hours, but this time it took 4 hours. When I picked her up, her haircut was uneven and poorly done. I initially attributed this to having a new groomer and did not mention anything. However, once we got home, I noticed my dog was limping and licking her leg. Upon closer inspection, I found a very deep gash on her leg that I was not informed about. This morning, I went to BarkSuds to speak with the owner. The manager was kind and said the owner would call me later and review the pictures of her injury. When the owner called, he referred to this gash as a "small scratch" and refused to refund me for the monthly fee, even though we had just paid for the month and will not be returning. He insisted that his employees would never cause or hide such an injury and trusted his staff implicitly. When I suggested reviewing the camera footage, he refused and insinuated that I was not telling the truth and that he would only refund the haircut and then hung up on me. Not once did I receive an apology or any acknowledgment of accountability. I completely understand that accidents happen and would have been satisfied with a complete refund and apology. However, this was a missed opportunity for the owner to kindly correct the situation. There are plenty of other reputable, honest and caring grooming salons in the area and I urge you not to make the same mistake I did in trusting this establishment with your dog. read more

This review is specific to the Westchase location only, it's the only one we've been too. For reference I have a large 90lb Labrador/German Shepherd mix, short hair coat w undercoat. I was extremely nervous taking him here bc it's so cheap and I've read a few other concerning reviews, mostly about the Bay location. The front desk girl was so sweet and the one who took my dog back was very kind also. My dog is a rescue and he's a big baby so I was very worried something would go wrong. He did not need a haircut so we went with the standard S Paw package/membership. They trimmed his nails very well (first nail trim since rescue so they advised they would gradually clip them shorter) at pickup she actually was able to get them just a little bit shorter which we really appreciate the extra effort. He was not nervous or hurt at all at pickup and he smelled great. I was specific about not doing a cage dry (figured he would not take well to the dryer) and they honored that and towel dried him extremely well which ultimately is what set me on coming back. I can't speak to haircutting/dematting etc bc I did not need those specific services but he smells great and he looks great. I'm not sure if they cleaned his ears/brushed his teeth and did every single service they outlined as they weren't super dirty before so I can't tell a difference but my main positive point is that my dog came out comfortable and happy! This was his first time being groomed professionally. Edit: after getting home and looking closer, they definitely cleaned his ears and teeth. Not sure about the butt I'm not really inclined to check haha. My dog is very sensitive though (he was abused prior to being rescued) and I'm so happy they respected him and his boundaries especially for his first time. I've held off on a review of the BarkSuds at Westchase for a while. It has been such a great option for us--and so lucky for us that they opened just as we took in a Doodle to join our Standard Poodle. I wasn't sure how I'd manage grooming them both regularly--it would take me hours to bathe and groom our Standard. But the service wasn't quite what was advertised. Getting regular baths for a reasonable monthly fee + tips is great and helps keep our house clean--and gives me back time. But I was annoyed that my dogs would be damp and not brushed out when I picked them up--I'd often finish them at home. And other services--ear cleaning and the like wasn't regularly performed on each visit. But it was still a time saver for me, so the benefits far outweighed my annoyance. BUT, the owner of BarkSuds has taken the location over just over a month ago, and I think this has been a positive change. I picked my pups up today, and they both looked beautiful! Fully dried and fluffed out! I had their faces and feet groomed on my last visit, and the groomer did a really good job as well. I just checked their ears, and they were clear except a small clump of hair in one ear on my doodle, and their ear canals were not damp--which unfortunately was the case with previous management. So, it's not perfect, but getting better. The storefront is very easy to access, it is clean and I love that they now display all of their products used for customers to see. The price, location and convenience of having clean dogs, is so worth it for me. Booking on the website is pretty simple--and the staff communicates via text promptly. I would fairly give them 4.5 stars, but I'll gladly round up to 5 stars because the service they offer is really valuable for the price. I also like the new manager, who is so very nice and is improving the operations on each visit I've made since the transition of ownership. read more

I have a rescue and was nervous about her interacting with other dogs. From the moment I reached out, they assured me of their protocols that they have in place for circumstances like mine. They allow us to come in on a half window to avoid other dogs in the lobby and take extra care when she is there. To be clear: we don't know her background but she gets an aggressive/excitement and we aren't willing to chance how she would "play" due to her being a pitbull. We have now been going to Westchase BS for over a year, about twice a month, and we love them! Always so kind on the phone and in person. I took my late wife's dog there to get groomed, after about an hour the lady brought her out to me, she was foaming out the nose. And then she was pooping, she was wiping her nose with a paper towel and finally gave her to me, said get her to the vet. She had a seizure; well, my dog didn't have a seizure. I must start out by saying the front desk service is great, that's why I gave 1 star, however I took my 2 pups here for 1 month, and by the 3rd week I started noticing hair clumps. Although they are supposed to brush them out, they DON'T/DIDN'T. One of my neighbors told me she always had to ask them to brush her dog out, my thinking, why ask, its supposed to be included in service(and I re-read their website and pamphlet). IMMEDIATELY stopped my membership! I will never go back and will NEVER recommend the Westchase-Sheldon Rd. to anyone. I have been brushing 2x a times a day and combing through knots, I finally decided to take to another groomer and was told they could not service one of pups because he was too matted, I now have to pay to have my 1 yo dog de-matted. My previous dog was a bichon(15 yo) so I am very well versed on maintenance of dogs with full hair. I do hope people read these reviews, as this is a TRUE story, and note that how can they offer all the services that they do in one hour , unless they miss a few steps. I have been taking my goldendoodle boy since October, I used to go to the bay to bay location when it first opened when the owner was in the front desk and i loved the way he cared and loved the dogs, this past October i began going to the Carrollwood location and i go weekly religiously due to my doodles coat, but i must say regardless anything the front the owners son Jake, and groomer Harley are honestly so caring and worry so much about my satisfaction with Yogi. Harley never gets Yogi's fur wrong, Jakes care for his job and dogs is amazing, he cares so much, he's the reason i continue to go and will continue to because i know my dog is in good hands, and i dont need to worry, and soon will take my second doodle when Hes bigger, i truly recommend them, They are truly wonderful. and make my life easier at it's best. read more
