Raising Canine Dog Daycare - Little panda having a blast at raising canine.

Raising Canine Dog Daycare

(5 reviews)

Unreliable! So Yelp pulled my last review of this place…read morebecause I wasn't specific enough. That was my way of being polite to this business, but now I will tell the whole story. Raising Canine offers socialization classes for an hour on weekends. You are required to make a reservation on their website. I took my new puppy there once, and it was a fiasco. They put my little dog in the grooming room with the only other little dog there, which was good, but we felt very much like we were in the way. Then the big dogs in the caged in area started fighting, and there was blood, and it was aweful. Then the owner told everyone there that it was an isolated incident, it normally doesn't happen, etc. Fine, I get it, dogs may fight. Plus they were all huge dogs in a very small space, so no doubt. So I decided to give them another chance. I went online and booked a spot about 9 days in advance, and received an automated confirmation email. So we drive the 25 minutes to get there, only to find out that they've taped a note on the door saying there was no class that day, and that we should've checked Facebook before we showed up. I am not on Facebook, and I have a confirmation email! If you're going to cancel a class, perhaps check to see who might already have a reservation and send them an email or call them? Something? Terrible way to run a business. I definitely have a bad taste in my mouth about this place, and I would never leave my dog there for any length of time, as i don't trust them. As a result, I have told all my friends with animals to avoid this place, and hopefully you the reader is now forewarned, too.

Initially I wasn't going to leave a review "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say…read moreanything at all" however having read the responses to reviews by the owner doesn't appear they take any accountability thought I'd share our experience. Our dog went for one day after which our daughter said to our dog while walking out "Moms not gonna let you come back here" The staff had told our daughter your dog will need to wear a belly pan because he's marking too much and they would have put one on him but didn't have one that was big enough! I called our old daycare from the City we used to live in and the only explanation they could fathom was that they didn't want to clean up after him, they then stated can you imagine how hard that would be on your dogs skin sitting in an essentially spoiled diaper. I believe this company is cliquey glad our dog only went once have since moved to a new Daycare and when I told them what happened they incredulously said "well he's a dog, that's what they do"

We have been looking for a daycare closer to home for our one year old puppy. This seemed like a…read morenice place. She went for the introduction day and all went well. There were no issues with her fitting in with the other dogs. When we picked her up, we noticed the handler aggressively correcting her with the leash (negative reinforcement). We had understood the daycare had a positive reinforcement policy. Beyond this being a bad training technique, it is useless with our dog as it makes her more excited. We did not say anything to the handler and brought it to the attention of the owner privately to see what was their opinion. He responded that both us and our dog are no longer welcome at his business.

It was brought to my attention recently that I write pretty critical reviews about pet care places…read moreon my Yelp. I am a pretty protective dog dad and bad experiences tend to stick out, so I thought it was time to write about where we found that we are happy with! One day while at the Bowness off leash park, there were quite a few more dogs than usual. Turns out it was "park play day" where the daycare brings the dogs for some playtime in the park. The owner was there and taking pictures of the dogs, as it turns out he is also a pet photographer! Our dog turned out to be pretty photogenic and got some good pictures. My girlfriend got information about the daycare and the next week we started taking him there. The building is a good size inside and outdoor play area as well. On hot summer days there are kiddie pools set up where the dogs can jump in and cool down. The facebook page is updated often with pictures and videos of all the dogs so we can check in and see all the fun being had while we are at work! Brian, Janice and all their staff are amazing. They always tell us a bit about what our dog did, who he played with and such. We have never had any issues with the daycare. It is reasonably priced, with multi day packs available to save some money. They also do regular nail trims for him, sometimes without us even asking! Brian also has a professional photo studio where he does amazing work with the dogs. We took ours in for a Christmas photo shoot and ended up getting amazing pictures and Christmas cards done. I would highly recommend Back in the Pack, and I'm sure my dog would too!

so my wife worked at this place for 3+ years as a part time employee . the manager Carrie promised…read moreher a full time position for well over a year in front of 2 different employees and trained her and made her do everything that the manager was supposed to be doing . my wife was working from 30-35 hours a week on a part time position waiting to get the full time . my wife went on matleave after working there a full 8 months while being pregnant , at 8 months pregnant Carrie was still making my wife unload trucks and lift heavy items . after 12 months of matleave my wife wanted to go back to work there so she called to find out her schedule , and Carrie told her that the full time position was given to a person that my wife was training and that they can only give her from 10-20 hours a week maximum . (how can a mother and a child survive off of 300$/ week if that?!) so my wife contacted the district manager (that did nothing but lie over the phone) telling her that she has 2 witnesses both previous employees of the store that were asking for a full time position as well and they both kept getting the answer "sorry , as soon as we have a full time opening Amber will be getting it since she's done the training and been there the longest" . so my wife gave the district manager both employees contact information so the DM can talk to them and find out the truth , but the DM did not call anyone or ask anything about the situation and all she said was that my wife's story and carries story don't match and she can only give her the part time hours that are 1/2 of the hours she was getting before matleave . this is the way the sage hill store and Carrie the manager treat theyre employees . my wife worked her but off for minimum wage for 3 years with a 25c raise doing everything what Carrie was supposed to be doing except the paper work , and this is what she gets from that scum of a woman ! Carrie is a liar and the worse manager that's ever been at that store . gonna be talking to a lawyer about this situation . to pet value head office and district managers , hope you know that Carrie pays people cash under the table to cover for her when she doesn't want to come in . this store lost over 20 of its regular customers because of how rude Carrie is to them. even myself included , Carrie would not sell less then 2 items to any relative of an employee , she said that was company policy that a family member of an employee must buy 2 or more items and when I tried buying one item she wouldn't sell me just one and started an argument with me about it while 3 other people were in line lmfao! what a joke ! now you know where and why not to work and/or shop and what kind of management pet valu sage hill plaza location has by the way the head office doesn't do a thing about anything just like the managers
