I took it back and, as it wasn't raining, surprise surprise "no fault found!" Clearly I had no option but to live with this and then lo and behold when it developed more problems I rang Arnolds Garage. 1) It refused to start when we had frost, but was okay when weather not too cold, so my garage said glow plugs probably needed replacing. I rang Arnold's Garage and was told I'd have to pay for the diagnostics tests 2) My garage also picked up an oil leak due to leaking gasket - according to Arnold's this is NOT covered 3) Finally on my questioning the point of the warranty the guy at Arnold's couldn't hide his glee when finding out it had done more than 12,000 miles! I now suspect reason they call you in for a 6,000 mile service with them is because by time next 10,000 mile service comes around and, like me you take car to your own independent garage, then car will have done more than the warranty mileage and not be covered. So it is a case of heads they win, tails you lose! ~ Jane

Happily, in this context, public transport or my own two feet are usually my preferred means of arrival. On Sunday evening, however, my companion and I needed to park here. We took a long while to chance upon this sweet little car park, by the river, heading towards Teddington. It was a bargain, at just £1 for the whole evening, and worked efficiently in terms of access and obtaining the relevant ticket. Recommended for a great view, too!

Every tourist traveling by car seems to want to arrive in Brighton via the coast road. This is the first real carpark they will encounter. Because of its location it takes cars away from driving into the centre. This enables the city roads to be less jammed. I once heard that all the squares off this main coastal route wished to have such underground carparks. The Regency square turned out to be the only one that didn't have an ancient river below it or any other problems stopping such a project.

It's free for disabled blue badge holders in any bay. Alternatively there is on street parking around the other side of the shopping centre if coming in from where the old Zens nightclub used to be. There are about 6 on street blue badge bays here but no normal parking. Inside the centre there are many varied shops like the 99p store great for bargains as is Wilkinsons, then there's a great Greggs for getting some lunch, there's a cheap card shop, a thorntons, a Peacocks love that store, supadrugs, McDonalds (yuk), as well as much more ie shoes, household, small stalls, nail and beauty shops, furniture etc. Well worth a visit, plus there's an indoor market area with quite a few stalls selling pet foods, clothes, shoes, mobile phone stuff etc it's small but the stalls have been there years.

Trawling the net I came across Lomax Parking. What a find that was. For £15 a day (cheaper than most airports) we booked a place. A bonus was that if parking for 3 days or more, there is a courtesy taxi to the station and pick up on return. PERFECT. Everything went so smoothly, thanks to those guys at Lomax.
