When you first see the TaylorMade R1 driver you are probably going to do a double take. The…read moregraphics on the crown may dissuade some but if this is the case, then put this thought to one side and try the R1 driver as you will forget about the looks once you hit it. Well the R1 has a much wider range of adjustable options so TaylorMade say that this is 'one driver for everyone'. There are 12 different loft settings over a range of 8 to 12 degrees including 2 upright positions. This means that there will only be one model and then you change the loft to suit. Research from TaylorMade found that 80% of people play with the wrong loft, with 35% by more than 2 degrees, so it is essential to go through some form of custom fitting process to get the right setting for your swing. TaylorMade say there will also be a telephone support line with tuning experts to help you do this and the head cover will have a dial on it so you can record your preferred settings, which are nice touches. The standard R1 driver comes with the excellent Aldila RIP Phenom 55g gram shaft that is very light and stable. The TP version comes with a more expensive and slightly heavier 65 gram shaft. The TaylorMade R1 driver is pricey but the sound, feel, forgiveness and loft options are all top drawer and in our opinion this is one of the better drivers TaylorMade have created in recent years. I'd seen a couple of snippets from the film and was excited to see the whole thing, particularly as it was being shown in Brewer Street mulit-storey car park of all places. We arrived early and although it was a bit shit to be kept outside in the rain it was well worth the wait, despite getting rather wet. As we entered we walked down a flight of stairs and through a door into a very 'non-carpark' looking space with a popping bubble wrap carpet. The free badges and drinks vouchers went down a treat and we began to congregate in front of the projected screen. It seemed that we were going to have to park our bums on the floor until a series of cardboard boxes began expanding with inflating air beds breaking out of them! So we got comfy and the film began. The film was about a robot/computer love story and it was really good. I'd love to know if it's going to be available for everyone to see soon but in the mean time check out the trailer below. Sky gardens is a fun way to start a day of seeing some of the local London attractions - especially…read moreas you get amazing views of them all from up high at Londons highest garden! Located at the top of 20 Femchurch street - you can make free reservations on line! That said, I can usually be relied on to mess up the details and somehow managed to make a review for the end of July but they were very gracious and told me as you are here - you can come in anyways which was nice of them. A quick elevator ride to the top opens to reveal stunning views of London! You can 360 views of landmarks like Tower Bridge, London Bridge, St. Paul's, the Thames and so much more . You can circle around with pretty landscaping inside but the views are obviously the star of the show! It does get quite busy so know to expect crowds and on hot days like today, it's a large human greenhouse so was definitely toasty! They have a full restaurant as well as a cafe serving coffees, snacks and cocktails. A fun way to get some epic views of London and free to boot!!

I saw many recommendations for Sky Garden when doing research for my trip to London, and I can say…read morethat it's well deserved. You really can't beat a free observation deck. Though Sky Garden is free, you still need to book a timed reservation in advance...as in, right when they release the dates 3 weeks in advance. They will run out pretty quickly even if you wait a few days, especially if you're going during busy season. I saw that the reservation is good for one hour, but honestly, they didn't check when I went so they might not be strict on that depending on the crowd level. I went in about 20 minutes early because I wasn't doing anything. You'll check in and go through security. Then you'll get in an elevator to the top. My reservation was at 10:00am, so I got through the initial line and security quickly, but I imagine it would be a long wait later in the day. The view out is great, and there's a balcony so you can take pictures outside. I think the interior architecture was the highlight though along with the greenery. There's so much natural light that gets in the room. It would have been amazing to go during sunset, but that didn't fit in with my plans. Luckily, the view in the morning was good, and the sunny weather was on my side. They have a cafe and a restaurant there. Though overpriced, I still got a flat white to sip on while I took in the views. Overall, I spent about an hour at a slow pace. You definitely don't need that much time, so if you have the chance to visit, it's definitely worth it. Only issue was the line to go back down took longer than expected since people don't maximize elevator space.
