There are always hundreds of children running around and it isn't the most visually appealing place to enjoy an afternoon of shopping - more of a get what you need and leave type place. It does have a few good high street stores such as River Island, New Look and Dorothy Perkins but each of these are small branches and I rarely find myself spending too much money. In terms of food shopping, there is a huge Tesco's which is probably the best I have ever visited and a couple of cafes. A little run down but it definitely suffices if you only need a few bits and pieces. Not somewhere to plan a real shopping outing however!

I'd seen a couple of snippets from the film and was excited to see the whole thing, particularly as it was being shown in Brewer Street mulit-storey car park of all places. We arrived early and although it was a bit shit to be kept outside in the rain it was well worth the wait, despite getting rather wet. As we entered we walked down a flight of stairs and through a door into a very 'non-carpark' looking space with a popping bubble wrap carpet. The free badges and drinks vouchers went down a treat and we began to congregate in front of the projected screen. It seemed that we were going to have to park our bums on the floor until a series of cardboard boxes began expanding with inflating air beds breaking out of them! So we got comfy and the film began. The film was about a robot/computer love story and it was really good. I'd love to know if it's going to be available for everyone to see soon but in the mean time check out the trailer below. Trawling the net I came across Lomax Parking. What a find that was. For £15 a day (cheaper than most airports) we booked a place. A bonus was that if parking for 3 days or more, there is a courtesy taxi to the station and pick up on return. PERFECT. Everything went so smoothly, thanks to those guys at Lomax.

Arrive about 15 minutes early as you have to go thru security screening. Once thru security you take the elevator to the 35th floor. The views are amazing as are the gardens. Plenty of seating is available and there are public restrooms.

I would have preferred an earlier evening time slot, but they were not available. They are quite strict about going in at your designated time slot and they let people up in the elevator only when its your time. We were actually waiting in the lobby of an adjacent building where there was lots of seating, not realizing that the line formed on the *other side* of the building so beware. We lined up, went through security, went up the elevators, and then had an unlimited time up in Sky Garden. Since we already ate dinner, we didn't buy any food or drinks. The enclosed rooftop space is really quite breathtaking. There are all walls on all four sides which makes the views just unbelievable. There is a balcony as well, but it was closed at the time of our visit (at night?) From the "front" lower side, you can see River Thames and the Tower Bridge/Tower of London. From the back, there are amazing views of The Gherkin. Up at the higher side, there is more space and some platforms to sit. However, it was really hard to be on the stairs going up and down because it was so congested. As you can imagine, the photos out the windows are amazing because the views are amazing. However, it's impossible to get photos of your party because there will be tons of people around you. The whole space is just packed with tourists. I was glad to have experienced it once, but I don't ever plan on returning and would try a viewing area that is less touristy. It's worth a stop but not worth taking a huge chunk of time from your day if it doesn't slot in naturally.
