This is a very nice dog park located within Tropical Park. It is the only place that dogs are allowed in there he park. The dog park has ample parking right in front of it. It is located right off of a lake and is divided into two areas, one for small dogs (less than 35 pounds) and another for big dogs (35 pounds are more. Each area has benches and picnic tables under an awning. They also have water fountains where you can fill your dogs water bowl. In addition to that, there are little doggie obstacles in both areas like an A-frame ramp, and hurdle bars. The park is clean and well maintained. You must have your dog's tags before you are able to use it legally. It is a very nice park and has places to relax and enjoy the lake in the shade while your pooch plays. Currently, the big dog area is closed and only the small dog area is open. They also do not allow pitbulls or dogs under 4 months old This is definitely one of the better dog parks in the area and is worth a visit. read more

Bark Park inside Tropical Park has become my favorite local dog park. After quarantine was lifted, I would bring my dog to the dog park when some other parks were still closed. It felt really nice to be able to have a place for the doggies to play and run again. The water fountain inside the big dogs area finally got fixed. I love this park and am so thankful that it's open back to normal now. My dog loves his furry friends that frequently comes to this park too and I love walking around to get some exercise in while he plays. The park staff members that I've encountered through the pandemic so far have been nice, considerate, and helpful. Lately, this staff member has been opening the doors for us, that's so nice! This park is kept very clean, even though dogs are everywhere. They have parking right next to the park, but dog park users are not the only ones who are allowed to park there. So, be prepared to park a tad further away. The park has a main gate, and later there is an entrance for small dogs and another one for big dogs. You could have your dog leash free and no need to worry of them running away. They have plenty of benches for the owners to sit on. There is one water fountain, for people and a lower fountain for our furry babies. There are doggy poopy bags, so there is NO EXCUSE to have poop everywhere. We went on a Saturday at around 1pm, there were a good 5 dogs total. At around the 3pm it was a big dog party. My dog had a fantastic time, will definitely be coming back. read more

This park has a different look than the one I currently go to but I wanted to check this one out. There's two sections like usual one for the bigger dogs and one for smaller dogs. This experience is based off the section for bigger dogs and a weekday experience. The park Is semi big there's chairs and tables for you to sit on and they're under trees for the most part so there is shade. The park looks nice and clean but there's a huge pile of dirt under the tables under the trees so I wouldn't recommend for anyone to go when it's recently rained. The grass is well kept and I didn't see trash anywhere which is a huge plus! You don't want your poor pup chewing on a random water bottle. There's a concrete track/side walk for you to walk and the dogs have a few obstacle course. There's also a small grass field towards the end but overall there's enough space for the dogs to run, play fetch, etc. I have no complaints about this park except for the annoying lady that let her small dog try to mount mine and then started being dramatic when mine got mad and fought back. Note to everyone: control your dogs if not don't get mad when a dog snaps back because you let your dog bother another dog when that dog was clearly trying to get away from yours. Grab your dog or train your dog to listen to you. read more

Sometimes, I'll take my boyfriends ugly dog out because I know he's a creature that likes to explore. Since it allows for that mutt to run around and get tired while I post up and chill, I press like. Tropical Park is super central to miami & due to its location right off Bird road & the palmetto, it's in the center of the "residential" part of the 305 which means you don't have to go too far out if your way. There's obstacle courses too which I made him do just to earn his keep. Obviously, always keep your dog on a leash as they enjoy other canine company. People love their pets & bringing them to a dog park is a fun and free way to spoil your mascot with the attention it needs. It's also a great idea to celebrate your dogs birthday here because #DogLivesMatter too. Oh, & please pick up your dogs poop. read more

Nice dog park in one of Miamis biggest parks. This park has 2 sections one for dogs under 35 lb and one for dogs 35 lb and over. Both sides have a spot for the dogs to drink clean water and also rinse off your dog if needed. Doggie bags are provides if your dogs poop. Both sections are very spacious and most people tend to bring their dogs after 5pm on weekdays and at any time during weekends. I have two pups who stay indoors all day - so it's guaranteed they will have some balled up energy. Visited the bark park on a Sunday afternoon with the pups for a nice hour or two of running around and sniffing butts. The park was impressive! They have obstacle courses that may be fun for those of you who have dogs that are actually trained. Mine just look at me like: Are you kidding me, man? The park is clean in terms of owners picking up after their "children", which hasn't been the case at other parks we visited. And all of the other pups were nice and playful. After the park, me and the wife walked them around the lake, and Izzy - our youngest daughter LOL and god bless her soul, but not the smartest dog in the world - went to smell/drink the water, and fell in. We had a nice laugh as she rolled around in the grass to dry off. Great park. Will deff come back to check it out. read more

Our doggies loved it here! We went came here on a Friday afternoon and there was just the right amount of pups in the dog park. There is a small dog area and a large dog area. We had a large dog (Lab) and a small dog (Peekapoo) with us, but both dogs went in the large dog area. The small one would NOT have been okay with being separated from his buddy. The dogs had a blast! The park is HUGE with plenty of shade trees, places for people to sit, and water fountains for people and dogs. All the dogs and people we encountered were very nice and courteous. The one downside to this park was a HUGE mud puddle. It was in a very shaded area and with all the rain it hasn't gotten a chance to dry up. I was able to keep my dog away from it for most of the time we were there, but eventually she got past me and LAID DOWN in it. Geesh. Thankfully there is a dog washing area right outside the park so I was able to rinse her off before getting back in the car. Otherwise I'm pretty sure my mom would have made us walk back to the hotel. Overall this was a GREAT park and we all really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Miami. read more

This is the poopiest dog park i've been to yet. People watch their dogs pop and it really doesn't seem like the thought of picking it up even crosses their mind... could be the general area, maybe westchester nerds are too good to pick up poop. So, watch out for those landmines!! Aside from the mines, the park is fairly clean. Plenty of picnic tables and shady areas - including a sweet looking canopy. The big dog area is pretty spacious, for its size it could really use another poo bag station or two (i only see 2). Seems like the most action happens after noon on the weekend. It's just about 12:30 and there are more than 10 dogs over on the big side. There is a "shower station" by the entrance of the bark park but the hose is missing. It may be worth investing in a short garden hose and leaving it in the car - there is plenty of potential for mud flops here. There is plenty of parking for the bark park and entrance is free. Check google maps and zoom into the park n it should show you where the dog park is at. It is closer to 82nd ave so if you come in through bird road you will end up driving through the whole park to get here. read more

Skippy and I come here a lot mainly because they have the little dogs separated from the big dogs. Skippy is only 6 lbs so I get a little nervous sometimes. I wish they would fix the grass up or place turf like at Blanche Dog Park (however, Blanche doesn't have separate areas for small/big dogs). The place is kept up pretty well. What a great time! Just went to the bark park today, it seems small (35 and under section) but once you're inside and your dog is loose it's the perfect size. I sat under the shade and had perfect view of what my dog was doing and where he was. All the pet owners were very friendly and the majority of the dogs were friendly too. Alot of people take their dogs to socialize them so we did run into a few that were a bit hostile but the owners were good about it and apologized. Overall great for my fur baby. read more

Man, this park has so much potential! I came here earlier today to finally visit the dog park area (which is sponsored by Pet Supermarket which also manages the Amelia Earhart Dog Park). My first impression before going in was that it seemed large in size from the outside and that my dog would have a lot of room to probe and play around. Upon entering, (once inside the unleashed area) you begin walking down a path way with views of the lake behind a gate... after walking a bit further you will then have a view of the dog park (this is where things became a little bit disappointing), I could not help but notice the amount of dirt and mud puddles... Sigh... I did not want to get my dog dirty nor did I want him to get my car dirty so I had to limit the areas that he could play in (which was a task itself). I cannot understand why the city/park does not patch up the MANY areas of dirt with grass to avoid mud puddles and to improve the overall appearance of the park. In addition, I felt like I was working in the military on a mission as I had to avoid the landmines that are left by dogs. To dog owners that come to dog parks - PICK UP YOUR DOGS SH*T. The obstacle course provided in the middle of the park was very limited in terms of activity which I was also surprised about. I will give kudos for the park having many shaded areas and many different areas to sit which includes one pavilion with multiple picnic tables. I also loved the various benches that put you in direct vision of the fantastic lake view! Last but not least, I appreciate the free Wi-Fi which I have yet to obtain in any other dog park. Overall, the park needs to just gut out all of the grass (as even the grassy areas were not well maintained) and install brand new grass in ALL areas, plus a new obstacle course on par with the other dog parks would be nice. Would me and my pup return... sure but only once the changes have been implemented or somethin'. read more

DOG - a Man's best friend... During the holiday's we spend a lot of time with our family. What do we do? We just sit around talking, eating, playing games, and just spending quality time together. For many of us dog's are a part of our family. A family member. On this Thanksgiving weekend my mother and I accompanied my sister with her hot dog sized son to this Dog Park that was highly recommended by a friend of ours that runs several veterinarian clinics. Yes it is far from home, but look at who recommended it... Yes, there are several Dog Parks closer to us, but look at who recommended it. Off we went for an adventure with my four legged nephew. My legs started to tremble at first sight because I saw a number of big dogs there but was quickly relived to realize the separation of parks; one side for dogs under 35 lbs and the other for all dogs over. We walked to the entrance gate and saw a sign with Dog Park Rules. Cute. In the wee little dog section you will find all the typical things found at any good Dog Park; water fountain, trash receptacles with doggie bags for proper doggie bathroom procedure, benches and seating areas for our two legged friends. This park took it a step further and has a gazebo with benches and tables, obstacles for dog's like a slide and jumping areas where your dog can jump over or through objects, a concrete trail that takes you around the park for a nice walk, and shaded tree areas for picnic blankets (if you like). Rocky had a great time sniffing, chasing, licking, running, laying, catching, jumping, barking, eating, and socializing with his friends this Thanksgiving. This is definitely a treat for your dog and a great way for you to show your dog how thankful you are for their unconditional love!!! I am stunned, impressed, and proud that there is a Dog Park of this stature in my hometown! read more

My life with my dog is something like what John Steinbeck depicted in Travels With Charley: we've road-tripped around the greater part of the United States, met lots of folks and as a result, partied at tons of bark parks. This afternoon, after spending lots and lots of time with my Colombian mother, I could tell Giles was itching for a romp outside of Casa Latina. After a quick search, and thanks to the Miami New Times' "Best Of" merit, we headed to Tropical Park to scope out the canine terrain. In dog-speak he's saying, "if you think I'm running in 100 degrees of damp heat, you're nuts." But then just in the distance I see pups taking galloping dives into the freshwater lake. They're chasing balls, sticks, some kid threw his shoe for fetching, all sorts of playtime is happening in the water. So, Giles tore through the little grassy field and headed straight for cooler, wetter "pastures." He joined all the other dogs and what's awesome is that even after water activities, we hit up the fenced in dog park. Smaller dogs stuck to their separate play area (which was just as epic as the larger dog area). Both featured obstacle-like courses and were my spoiled pup better coordinated and more equestrian, he might have joined the impressive labs on their way up the ladder and down the ladder and over the hurdles and up the agility course. As he panted, exasperated by all the ridiculous fun, I sat beneath the shaded trees chatting up a regular, and that's when it hit me, Giles and I are both really happy to be here. read more

A few weeks ago we decided to celebrate our pup's 1st birthday at the Tropical Park Bark Park. We had never been, but after reading reviews and seeing pictures of it on Yelp, I thought it would be the perfect location. The fenced in dog park areas are huge and separated for large and small dogs. My first impression was that it was very clean and well taken care off (grass was green and maintained, obstacles were in great conditions, table and seating areas also very clean). Since we were expecting about 5-10 people along with their dogs to come celebrate with us, we were lucky enough to snag a table under the covered canopy and set up in the shade. Since our pup is a French Bulldog, we planned our play date for later in the afternoon (around 5pm on a Saturday) to avoid the scorching heat. Either way, I brought in one of those small plastic kiddie pools and filled it with water from the shower area and poured in a bag of ice to keep the water cool. The dogs at the park loved it! A bunch of them came by to take a dip and cool off in the pool before running off to play again. Eventually we brought out our doggie birthday cake, sang Happy Birthday, and shared treats with the other dogs at the park. Everyone was so friendly and a lot of strangers and their pups joined our party and we all had a great time. I really have zero complaints about this park. Can't wait to bring my pup back - she loved it! read more

Go every weekend with my two baby girls (two American bulldogs) and they LOVE it. Like others mentioned it can get a bit muddy and the pups get dirty everytime so come prepared to bathe them after. Its a huge park with lots of things for the dogs to do and plenty of space to run. Best time to go to make sure your dog has someone to play with is 5:00 pm or later and the weekends. I haven't encountered many aggressive dogs here and when I have the owners have kept them leashed. Great place to take the dogs to get some energy out ;) Also as a tip to parents, if you're bringing a young child here please remember this is NOT a playground for your children, the agility course is for DOGS. read more

I took my lil Benji over to this new park on Sunday. The park is close the the lake area, it's fenced all around allowing a no leash policy. There are two dog parks, one for the lil ones and the other one for bigger dogs. The park is a bit small but it gave Benji enough space to run around and meet other doggies. The park has a drinking fountain for them. It has a shaded area for the owners to seat and watch. Overall, a good lil park. I will be coming back here. read more

Love taking the pups here on beautiful day to frolic around with other animals! The park is divided into two sections : large and small. It's pretty big, and it even includes a water spout and lots of doggy poop stations to clean up after your mutt. Since we have both, we let them both in the large park and it normally goes okay. The dogs enjoy running around, and there's even a small training course if your dog has the patience enough to jump over/under things for a treat. My biggest issue with this park is not even with the park itself, it's with the owners of the animals.. Out of respect for other dog owners if your dog isn't friendly or can't handle his butt being sniffed constantly, don't bring him to the park! Everytime I go there's some idiot with their untrained dog attacking other dogs and being completely unapologetic about it. It's just common courtesy to at least apologize, not ignore that your dog has bitten another animal and walk the other way. Other than that small slight, definitely a great way to spend a weekend afternoon with your furry children! read more

This place is Disney World for your 4-legged friends! We had our pups' birthday party there this past weekend and everyone (humans included) had a blast! The park is complete with 2 separate areas: one for small dogs (under 35 lbs.) and another for the larger breeds. I can't speak for the smaller area, as we were only in the large dog section - but it was really expansive and included an agility course. One feature I really loved that I have yet to see in other local dog parks was the "wash off hose" as you were exiting the park. This is so useful as our little ones usually get down & dirty while at the park - so that was an excellent add on! I totally recommend this park for all dog owners - your furry ones will thank you! :) read more

My girlfriend and I took our four month-old Lab mix puppy to this park over the Memorial Day weekend and we all had a GREAT time. This was actually our puppy Luna's very first time at a dog park, and it went so well that we took her back again the next day. :) Lots of running around, butt-sniffing, and friendly games of tag. Even on a busy weekend, it didn't seem over-crowded. There was plenty of parking and it was easy to find. The location, ample size, and the fact that it's free were huge selling points. And now the reason I gave this four stars-- the owners. To my fellow dog parents, you need to be more responsible, vigilant, and intuitive with your dogs. If your dog is nervous or aggressive around other dogs, do not bring it to the dog park in the hopes that it will magically become sociable. If your dog is not fully vaccinated, do not come to the dog park. If you aren't going to clean up after your dog, do not come to the dog park (we saw this on more than one occasion, despite the fact that the park provides bags and trash cans). If you plan to leave to wash your car and expect other people to watch your dog, DO NOT COME TO THE DOG PARK. (This actually happened.) It was disheartening to see so many dog owners who just didn't care about what their dogs were up to at the park. Although this park is fenced in, you still have to supervise your dog. This is like dog parenting 101, y'all. Overall, this is a great park for responsible dog parents with friendly dogs. I'd bring Luna back here whenever I'm in town again. My dog absolutely loves this park. He's not very playful, more of a sniff/pee-on-posts kind of guy, and he loves to come and run and meet other dogs. As others have mentioned it has great amenities: the water fountain, benches, shaded area, hose off area, etc. There are some areas that get a little muddy after rain, so come ready to either hover over your pups or deal with slightly muddy ones. Also, it gets busy on weekends, and while the park rules specify non-aggressive dogs, I've encountered a couple. One Yorkie in particular snarled and tried to bite my dog when he went to smell her. My dogs reaction was to jump two feet in the air (quite a feat, he's 8lbs) and thankfully I was there, so no scratches on my pooch. I'm not sure what they can do to keep these meanies out though, as there's no one watching who goes in. Crazy dogs and mud aside, it's a good park. A little more unkempt than when it first opened (watch for poop, some owners ignore the poo bags), but still a great place for an afternoon of four-legged friend fun. read more

There are plenty of hoses to rinse your dog off before you leave. Weekends get crazy with everyone bringing their entire family to the park to have a family picnic/family reunion... parking is insane on weekends. But on a weekday definitely a must go. read more

I like this park. It's what you want in a dog park basically. It's got the separation for bigger dogs and smaller ones. We came with 4 smaller dogs and the size was enough for them to walk around a good amount and get tired. They have some obstacles for the dogs to either climb up or jump over...but most of them ignore it. My dog followed me up the little plank thing and down it but wouldn't do it on his own. Did I feel safe? Yes Was there sufficient parking? Yes Was it clean? Yes. Were there enough dogs there to make it fun? Yes Would I recommend it? Absolutely. read more

Why do people insist on bringing their big dogs in the little dog area? I hate people who try to pass their 40+ pound dog as a "little dog" or "under 35 pounds". And just because you've "been here before" does not excuse it. You are wrong & technically breaking the law. So little dog owner take note that the little dog area is for 35 pounds and under so if you have a dog under 10 pounds, a 35 pound dog is just to big for your tiny pup. Really wish dog parks would have a small, medium & large dog area. Would avoid so much headache & possible heartache. Not a park I will be back & it's a darn shame because it looked like a really nice one. read more

My baby and I really enjoyed the park today. it was better than expected. Since it's inside a huge park, the surrounding area is really nice. The small* dog area is well maintained, what disappointed me is how small it is. I felt it was too small considering that a 30lbs dog qualifies as small, the area should be bigger, so they can run more. Lack of an area long enough to jog. However, my dog enjoyed herself. The dogs there today were all great, the owners as is usually the case are the problem! haha! Nothing serious though. It was cozy, fun and clean. Dogs are not allowed outside the dog park so that sucks because the park around is huge and it would be nice to be able to walk around. There are poop-bags, water, shower-hose. Fun times. read more

Like all dog parks, it all really depends on that time of the day you go. This is the first time I come to this park, I had only heard bad things about it, but after being insisted by a couple of friends, I decided to check it out myself. What a great park!!! yes, you might see some poop here and there and yes like every other park, there might be a dog that is not as friendly as their owner think it is, but the park itself it's fan freaking tastic!! It was also my first time going to tropical Park, and what a gorgeous park! I will definitely be coming to this park more often. Nothing like making friends with people and their dogs!! read more

I have a small terror of a Jack Russel, and this is easily the highlight of his week - they've got lots of room to run around & play, and the separation between large & small dogs is also quite helpful. There's small obstacles to climb over/around, as well as water available and most people seem to understand the importance of letting their dog socialize & be off the leash.
