I love that there is a park in Miami that was created to honor the many ways women have impacted Miami-Dade County. This is one of the first parks in the United States to be dedicated to women. This one million dollar park near FIU opened in December of 1992 at 10251 W. Flagler St. in West Miami-Dade. There were a lot of mamas in the park on the day I visited. People mamas taking their kids out to exercise and play and animal mamas taking care of their babies. A soon as I pulled in to park, I spotted mama hen feeding her chicks and there were several duck mothers with their ducklings on the lake. The Women's Park is 15 acres set around a lake. The park is home to the Roxcy O'Neal Bolton Exhibit, named for a local feminist and civil rights activist who founded the park. Bolton is the founding president of the Miami-Dade chapter of the National Organization for Women. The exhibit is a gallery with art items from O'Neal's 50 years as a women's rights activist. Nearby, the park has two gate art installations, named the Gates and Fences Project, created by Miami artist Lydia Rubio. The art on the gates represents female empowerment. The Women's Park playground is named in honor of Leona Ferguson Cooper, an advocate for women, children and another one of the founders of the Women's Park. The Women's Park also has a walking path and a picnic shelter/pavilion that can be reserved. Classes, workshops, and camps are held at the park. One star off for locking the restrooms. As a woman using the Women's Park, it is not very empowering when you need to use the restroom and are greeted with a locked door. Otherwise I had a very enjoyable time walking around this park.

    A Celebration in this Day.

This is a nice little park by the FIU engineering center. Now they added BBQ stations,so im excited about that, specially that its exacly 0.8 miles from mi casa :). The park is not very large but its not small. I get to do my everyday laps and im satisfied with that.

Surprised and happy to see the turtles!!

I really enjoyed this park. Very clean and a nice place to walk. I had fun feeding the ducks, turtles and fish! There is a nice meeting space and air conditioned lobby inside.

I am very pleased with how much I have learned with just one month of Bachata and salsa classes…read more Thanks to my awesome instructor, Jeanette, I have been able to learn the basics, follow my partner, and successfully complete turns. Jeanette is really passionate for what she does and take the time to break down every movement. She works with you if you're not understanding And keeps the class pumped at all times. Every class starts at a beginners level and goes over the basic footwork for each dance type. Then you move onto working on more complex foot work and finally get into pairs to practice dancing with someone other than yourself haha. You rotate partners every minute or so so you really get to practice with everyone in the class which gives you a taste of how it would be if you would go out dancing. As you can see, as the time progresses the class becomes more difficult. Every class is about an hour and a half and there is usually about 15 students present. The choice of music is excellent and to top it all off it is a great workout. I definitely recommend investing on some dance shoes because they will help you with footwork and turns. Be mindful that sneakers are not allowed on the dance floor. The place is located in a shopping center with ample free parking. Thanks to Salsa Kings I feel more comfortable with my basic salsa and Bachata dancing and I can't wait to learn more.

The museum is cozy and transmits a historic vibe, being set in the old firehouse station, and features a charming patio perfect for enjoying a refreshing afternoon or a starry night. The exhibit is beautifully curated and full of life, it truly immerses you in her journey and fills you with the energy of her achievements. It's inspiring to see Celia throughout all her phases, uplifting your spirit and reminding you of the incredible, adventurous experiences life can bring. I really appreciate when institutions pay homage to true Latin icons with all the glory that a symbol of Latin music and culture deserves. Even though the exhibit is small, it's a joyful little capsule of azúcar that reminds you that life is a carnival of happiness. La Reina Celia will always live on through us, every time we dance to her rhythms and step into her world. Just wish it would be a little bigger as the ticket might be a little bit expensive for the exhibitions space and offer (my only reason I don't that the final star it deserves). Coral Gables Museum, keep nourishing our spirit with exhibits like this.

The circus show was a little diferent from the commercial advertisement. I bought my ticket online. After buying the ticket I was send an email with my ticket QR code. It also had a description of what to expect and a map of attraction. I was impressed with that. The circus is located deep inside Tropical Park. As you enter the park just follow the signs. It will lead you straight to the circus. You have 3 parking options. One is free. I was told it's a little far. The other one is valet or self parking for $5 a little closer. The parking area is well lit. I got here maybe an hour before the show. I would advice to do so. Inside you have smaller tents and performers doing little shows. If you don't want to miss anything get here early. A good hour or more early. After you get scanned or pay. You are greeted by the Show Master. He is an entertaining guy. He then tells you a storie and invites you to solve a riddle. The circus had many things to do. I liked the petting zoo. It was well stocked. Ponies, ducks, chickens, sheep, unicorn and many more animals. They also provide hand sanitizer. The pumpkin Station was cool. One pumpkin per ticket. They give you a pumpkin and tools to carve. They have sanitizers and a station to wash your hands. I was here for a long while. They had some food vendors. I tried something like a corn dog, but it had French fries all around in a cheese sauce. That was different, it was OK. It came with fries. I liked them. The stage is in the middle of this huge covered open tent. They have bundles of hay for sitting all around. (FYI hay -allergies) It was comfy for me. The show is nice. It's G rated for everyone. They did a good job putting this together. It was very entertaining.

The faculty is certified and have led professional careers in their respective areas of creative expertise. They begin laying a foundation from the preschool years all the way to young adulthood. And they have both female and male students. They also offer an AfterSchool program and work your child's classes at a mutually suitable schedule. The cost of the classes is comparable to other dance academies. I have enjoyed closely watching the development in my niece, as well as in many of her close friends. I also look forward to their professionally-mounted recitals every year.
