It started out great but unfortunately I had to find a new groomer for my cat after being a customer for years. No one was there the last time we came for a scheduled appointment, called and I never heard from anyone. The appointment prior to that was odd to say the least. I was told cats would no longer be groomed but then was told we COULD stay on as customers and so, another appointment was made only to be left in the dark. After reading other reviews, I feel finding another groomer was meant to be. Proceed with caution. read more

My 15 yr old cat recently stopped being able to groom himself well and was getting matted. He wouldn't let me shave him and barely tolerated me trying to clip out matts. I got an appt. at Bark Avenue when so many groomers weren't even accepting new clients. My cat was not an easy little man to groom, they took their time, gave him breaks and gave me a detailed run down of how he was when I picked him up. While he was not happy when I picked him up, he quickly forgave me and now he is finally back to his old self. He is SO much more active, fiesty, and fun. I had chalked up a lot to 'well he's getting older" but he is exactly the same energy level as he was a decade ago now. I couldn't be happier with Bark Avenue. read more

Have been taking my Sheltie here regularly! They always do a great job with his long fur and double coat. I usually make an appointment for him a couple weeks out and when I drop him off he'll be done with a full groom (and all the fixings--teeth, nails, ears, anal glands...etc) in a couple of hours! Price is super reasonable as well! read more

Our dog is a rescue and does not like being groomed at all (he had to be groomed under an aesthetic when he was rescued), but he comes away with a big dog smile on after being groomed at Bark Ave. Meghan, one of the owners, worked with Teddy and he is calm, relaxed, and looks and smells great! I've gone to big box store groomers, daycare salons, tried cutting hair myself none of which ends in a particularly fruitful experience for me or my dog. And then there was Michaela Snyder (one of the owners). Fun fact- when you are speaking to her, she's listening to what you are saying. She's actually envisioning what you are looking for, asks clarifying questions, and then makes all your dreams (about your dog's hair) come true!! Wonderful experience--fit me in the day before and was done in a couple hours. Asked all the right questions beforehand and while booking--breed info, coat, etc...and were very personable, used my name, remembered me from my call etc. --this is my favorite local city groomer so far of the three that I've been to and by and far the best experience. My husband brought our long-haired cat in to be groomed. Despite our best efforts he had developed some tough mats in his thick fur. He is also pretty feisty and doesn't like being brushed, let alone being buzzed. The groomers at Bark Ave. did an amazing job! They were friendly, quick and great with our kitty. I took my cat here not too long ago. I had a appointment for a trim. I'm not sure if i'm just not asking for the right thing but I wasn't happy with the work that was done. When making a grooming appointment I expressed the main things i wanted done and that was her back end being shaved and her paws being cleaned up and cut. That didn't mean to me that it was going to be the only thing being done. My main problem here is that she still had a knot on her back end after the shaving and a few other ones on her whole body. This was one of the main reason i took her in because she is long hair and it's hard for me to take them out. So this would mean she wasn't even brushed thoroughly. Like i said i'm not sure if i have the wrong idea of what i'm asking to be done. There was no bath, her ears were still dirty, nails weren't cut, no overall trim of her body and again knots still in her hair. Now i have to find someone else to groom her when she was just at a groomers and she currently smells. Which is why i wanted her to come in. Anyone who owes a cat knows it's hard to wash them yourself. I tried to call the salon a few times and for some reason my calls aren't going through. I would have loved to express my concerns with the owner and not have to write a review but i wasn't able to get through. Very nice people but regardless if a bath or anything else wasn't included in the service i got not even brushing her so she doesn't have any more knots is just lazy. It's high stress for cats to go to a groomer so i try to take her only a few times a year, for her to have to go somewhere else because everything wasn't correctly just puts more stress on her. I have been taking my dog to Bark Avenue for over two years now. Every time she returns home she is happy and very well groomed. Megan does a great job and I never have any fears of leaving my dog with her. The salon is very cute and open. Megan has also always been very accommodating to my schedule as well. I've been taking my German Shepard to this groomer for over a year and they are fantastic with larger dogs. He usually gets very nervous about baths and they are such professionals that he now gets excited when it's time to go there! You can tell how much these people love your animal. read more

Love Bark Ave! Meghan is great and always does a great job on my cockapoo. What I love about this place is that its not over booked like most groomers are. He goes in for his appt and is out in an hour or 2 at the most and looks very well professionally groomed. All the other places I have taken him to in the past he will be there for like 6-8 hours and comes out very choppy looking. So this is by far one of the better groomers I have been to in the area and at a good price too. And as a bonus they get their cute little photo posted on their fb page :) read more

I have had very negative experiences with this groomer. There is only one groomer in this shop,and in my experience she does anything she wants despite warnings and requests by pet owners. She gave my easygoing dog a totally lopsided hair cut. She cut one side of her face and body very short and the other side she left long. Refused to fix it. My friends tiny fearful dog was subjected to electric clippers although he was adamant about not using them on his little guy. I don't recommend this salon! read more

Not recommended at all. We had a horrible experience with grooming our dog. Our dog came back to us sticky and terrified of bath tubs. She is so traumatized that she won't even let her regular groomer bath her anymore. After much back and forth with both this company and our credit card company, the owner agreed to mail us a refund check and then never did. She stopped responding to our messages and basically blocked us. Horrible customer service and ridiculous business practices. Don't agree to send a refund and then never send it, it only makes your company look even worse. Save your dog the trauma and yourself the drama, take your business elsewhere. read more
