Hugo the Great Dane.

If you are looking for an excellent dog care provider, look no further. Bark and play is the best. Hugo the Great Dane loves Bark and Play! He comes home happy and tired after his time there. Fernando and the team are amazing and treat Hugo as a part of the family. All of the services they provide, and we've tried them all, are excellent. I know I can depend on the team to watch over Hugo while he plays with his pals.

Love checking their Instagram and seeing what my pup is up to while I'm at work!

Bark & Play and Fernando are beyond what I ever could have expected out of a dog daycare service. They are the absolute best and are SO loving to each and every dog that comes through their doors. I was referred to Bark & Play by a co-worker after discussing my long work hours and my super hyper 1 1/2 yr old pup sitting at home by himself. I contacted Fernando and he came by and met my pup, Swayze. Fernando instantly "clicked" with Swayze and I felt very comfortable setting up his daycare routine. The pick-up and drop-off service is awesome. You always know what to expect - the same driver (JD - she's great, too!), and the same time of day. My dog is pretty anxious in the car but he has calmed down a lot recently and I think it is because of his trips to daycare. A few weeks ago, I asked to see Bark & Play and get a little tour of the facility. Fernando met me at a time that was convenient with my schedule which I appreciated. The daycare is organized, spotless, and has indoor and outdoor areas. There are a few different sections and dogs are placed based on their size/temperament. It was also great to see Fernando interact with the dogs. He has definitely taught my pup a few things. I could not ask for a better dog daycare. They go above and beyond to make sure my dog is happy and healthy & each day I come home to an exhausted pooch which makes me happy, too. They also are active on Facebook and Instagram which is fun for me to see throughout my day. They have other services like dog baths, walks, etc. that I haven't used yet but I'm sure I will soon!

I have piece of mind while I'm at work or traveling that my dog and cat are well cared for. I wish I could give a 6th star for service! Liz, the owner, goes above and beyond and really cares about the animals she serves. The last time I traveled, there was an issue with my front door lock, preventing the sitter from feeding my cat. I was a two hour flight away and freaking out. Liz met with the locksmith at my home to be sure she got in and the cat was taken care of. She kept me apprised of everything that was going on until it was sorted out. I couldn't imagine using another service after that.

The lack of comunication was frustrating They bill you and charge your credit cardbefore sevices are completed. They never answer the phone on the weekends and sometimes during there scheduled buisiness hours. I suggest having a camera due to the fact that I strongly believe that they were not honest about the number of scheduled visits I think they are under staffed and over whelmed. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but when i chosse to part ways they refused to return my keys and i had to pay for my locks to be changed. I would use Windy City Paws they are the best in chicago

I will be honest--there was an incident on the live camera feed that was very upsetting to witness, and I was ready to pick Kuma up the next morning. As a rescue puppy, seeing her mishandled by an employee broke my heart. What made the difference was how quickly and professionally Kate, the managerbresponded. She called me within minutes of my email, listened to my concerns, showed genuine empathy, and immediately put my mind at ease. The team took my concerns seriously and ensured Kuma was never placed under that employee's care again. Because of how Kate and her staff handled the situation, I decided to give it couple more days. Kuma was happy, well cared for and enjoyed playtime. Today, Kuma attends daycare twice a week, has a monthly pool pass, and loves her time there. The facility is clean and well maintained, but what truly sets Pet Care Plus apart is its caring and compassionate staff. Thank you, Kate, Monica, and Zoe, for taking such great care of Kuma!

When I spoke with the assistant manager, she admitted to knowing about two separate spills. However, when speaking with the manager few days later, she denied a spill had occurred and suggested the medication spilled before the techs had access to it. In addition, after that stay, my dog came home with paws stained yellow with urine that required two washes to fully clean. To her credit, the manager was very polite in discussing these issues, however she was unwilling to take responsibility and refused to reimburse me for the cost of medication wasted (~$75). In addition, and much less seriously, Pet Care Plus has made several errors with feeding and even sent me report card for someone else's pet during a previous stay. These are minor issues, but they do highlight underlying problems with organization and responsibility.

The price also includes a lot of things, like nail trims, that other places charge extra for. Our dog is a rescue and she has severe anxiety about kennels/cages. Their cage free policy is perfect for her. They always do an excellent job. One time they didn't cut her quite short enough and they were very understanding and trimmed her up for free. They always add little extras like bows in her hair or on her collar, which I find adorable. I haven't tried any services other than grooming.

Grooming: I initially took Cooper here for doggie day care since I was working and going to part-time business school. I noticed they offered grooming and decided to try them out since their rate was less than at Kaiser's. The second time I took Cooper for grooming, he came home with such a close shave! Lisa told me they had to take extra fur off since it was matted. I thought it wasn't a big deal until a year later when my husband and I noticed that Cooper's fur was not growing back. We took him to the vet to confirm it wasn't due to a medical reason, and she told us that his fur had been cut down too short that it destroyed his fur follicles. Please see the attached before and after photos. We are distraught that his beautiful fur has not grown back (his neck especially remains bare). Doggie Daycare: The dogs are not given walks during the day. Instead, there are just pee pads on the floor so that the dogs can relieve themselves inside. This can be very counter-intuitive for a puppy who has just learned to be house-trained.
