I haven't been to the new location, but the photos on other social media looks amazing. I'm hoping to get there soon but every time I've walked in the owner is so nice and so polite and so helpful . She's a fantastic person all around. She likes to take what can be a sour moment in life and find a positive in it or continue to laugh through the hard times. It shows through the products that she sells a sense of humor is something we all need. Everything is priced fair you can even find sale items. Her clothes are so cute that I've gotten a couple things for my daughter. There's a wide variety of pricing so I'm sure there's a gift for everybody. You shouldn't walk out empty-handed. If you're looking for some quirky gifts or something to add to your collection, this is definitely a store you need to hit up.

When I need a mood booster or when I am looking for a gift, I go there. It's kinda like that shop in the malls that was called Spencer's except this is his witty, sophisticated older sister who has the same family sense of humor, but classy. The owner and her staff are just the sweetest people and they genuinely love to see you come in whether you are coming in to take a look around or on a mission to get some retail therapy! This shop is PACKED with so many goodies that it's hard to see it all in one visit. They change the layout of the store quite often. Every time you go, I notice something new and I love that things are sold in limited quantities except for a few items and brands. Keeps things fresh. The owner likes to do her own retail therapy by shopping for the store and sometimes, she'll only buy a limited quantity and once that item is gone, it's gone! This isn't an exhaustive list, but these are some of the things you can find: - the round table in front will have some themed display depending on the time of year (Black History Month, Women's History Month, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Pride, Halloween, Christmas etc etc.) - women's clothing and fun(ny) t-shirts - jewelry (lot of it made by local artists) - mugs and wine glasses with funny quotes - kids section with adorable books about important historical figures - greeting cards (not your ordinary cards) - self affirmation journals and notebooks - coasters with the funniest sayings on them - oven mitts and kitchen towels - lots of fun gift bags and tissue paper and so much more! Take a look at the pics, because that will give you a better idea. Every time I am in need of a gift, EJB is my first stop! The new location is nestled next to Running, Etc and across the street from Blair Middle School. It boasts ample street parking with a convenient side parking lot for customers as well. A beautiful store-front window is always displayed to perfection bringing window shopping to life during your stroll down Colley Avenue. A charming sidewalk chalkboard sign greets you before you even enter the store. The handiwork on the sign is done by a local artist which speaks to the nature of Texture. As you enter the shop, you will find it proudly supports local artists of Coastal Virginia from Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, and more. I'm always impressed by the jewelry, hand designed greeting cards, pottery, and accessories that the owner finds for the store. She or any other "Texurette" will happily tell you about the origins of any item. The ladies who work in the shop (Texurettes, as they are fondly called) are always friendly and helpful if you are looking for something particular. They offer complimentary gift wrapping in adorable gift bags tied with ribbon. Every time I give a gift in a Texture bag the recipients eyes light up! You will find a price range for every wallet. I have bought $2 hand soaps, hilarious dishes towels for $10 as well as beautiful jewelry in the higher price range. Texture is one of those local shops who truly supports local as well. They have some cute gift items and make custom fake floral arrangements. One of the things pointed out to me was that you can bring in your own vases or cases and they will build something for you based on your colors and request. Additionally, they sell these pretty fake magnolia wreaths and can update/change them for the seasons. What a cute idea! I saw tons of pretty things inside including seasonal gift/decor, candles, soaps, lotion, and Lampe Berger which are fancy Parisian room diffusers. Nice! With loads and loads of scents to personalize and cleanse your space. I'm def. coming back from one of these!
