Wow, I love this park! It's fricking huge!! There are tons of sports fields, playgrounds, walking trails, picnic tables, public restrooms, and much more. I can't believe how beautiful the greenery at this park was. It's definitely well maintained, just a very clean park in general. We took our toddler here and he absolutely loved it! We had so much fun with him as adults too lol. The only downfall is that the mosquitos are very bad. Of course that's a little uncontrollable when you're outdoors. I highly recommended this park to anyone that lives around here or is in the area. We will definitely be back to this one.

The hiking is amazing. Easy to see the trial as it is clearly marked, hardly any people around.

Fantastic park! The wilderness hiking area feels, well, like you are out in the middle of the forest somewhere. You are, but you are also very close to the city. The trails are very well maintained and the markings are fairly easy to spot. There are some areas where the markings can be improved, but if you just stop and look around, they are fairly easy to see. I was amazed that we only met two other people on our hike, and we did an entire loop with a couple of side loops. I think this is one of the Boro's best kept secrets! It's a great, quick way to get to a beautiful hiking destination! Highly recommend hiking here.

How has this hid from me for so long?? I really loved this park. It started pretty tame, on a paved path... but once you get down to the river it takes an awesome turn. It is rocky with ups and downs, the red trail loop is about 2.65 miles. The terrain changes in many places and there are definitely some steep areas... I was out of breath a couple of times. There were plenty of people there... laying in hammocks, fishing, playing fetch with pups.. despite this it didn't feel overcrowded. Unfortunately the wilderness center was closed when I went but it seemed cute and they had plenty of activities listed on the bulletin board outside. I know I will frequent here often. All my photos from the hike credited to my sister Bassma F (she's awesome)

This is a great place to bring your kids. It has hiking trails for all levels and a gift shop full of small critters for them also. There are classes each Wednesday at 9:30 for the little ones. Home school science class and paint class each month for mom.

Took my daughter to The Wilderness Center for their Wild Things program today. It was different from any other olay group setting I've found so far. I love how everything is nature related of course. The took the kids (1-4) on the tiniest hike to look for seeds and berries it was so cute! They sang songs related to what the "lesson plan" was for the day and then a craft project. The highlight is that they bring out an animal! This week was all about corn and seeds so they glued popcorn to a paper corn cob. They are go to see a Corn Snake up close and personal!! At only $3 it is so worth the money. Will be back next week for Turtles and Turkeys the week after that!

Bleachers have a sun shade which is great for travel baseball tournaments. Concessions were reasonable and tasty.

In the future, I would definitely stick to outdoor events here. Inside, the space is quite small, so the sound mix was very loud and actually easier to enjoy from outside. The music carried better outdoors, which ended up being a plus. Drinks were around $15 and the server was quick - we couldnt stay inside for the show and because there was smoking on the patio, we moved out to the nearby field and watched the kids play football, which worked out fine. One small heads-up for visitors: avoid sitting on the railroad tie near the seating area that is covered in oil. It will ruin your pants. The other ties are weathered and fine. Also noticed chewing tobacco left on one of the rocking chairs, which reflects more on patrons than the venue itself. The line for the food was long, we actually wanted a burger but had to leave because we stink of oil ... but we wouldn't have waited in line ... so come a little bit fed. Overall, a fun spot with a great outdoor vibe. I would return, especially for outdoor shows.

Me and a few buddies drove a couple hours to get to the disc golf park and my one buddy showed up early (10:15a ish). He met a gentleman at the gate who said the park isn't open until maybe later in the afternoon. (Website says 8a-sunset) The guy said he was the only one there and he couldn't be bothered to sit outside while we played disc golf. Ummmm what? We don't need you to sit outside or babysit us? What is it that you think we're going to do that you need to watch us play disc golf? I will NEVER go there again. Mind you, I did call and was told it would be open. Then I called a couple days before and of course, no answer. Highly do NOT recommend traveling a good distance to go there. Also, if they're going to hire some one who can't be "bothered" to help, maybe they hired the wrong person. PSA: don't work in the SERVICE industry if customer SERVICE annoys you

There is truly nothing like being out in nature, walking the trails, and taking in the wildlife and beautiful scenery. I've seen people enjoying leisurely walks, others getting in a serious workout by jogging, kids playing hopscotch, and some simply stopping to appreciate the beauty of it all. The atmosphere is so peaceful that I've even sat in my car in the middle of the day and read a book, that's how relaxing this place is! The hills can be a bit challenging, but they're well worth it. Now, my legs may have had a different story on the topic (LOL)! Whether you're visiting alone or spending time with family and friends, there's something here for everyone. This is definitely a kid and dog friendly place too! I can only imagine how much more there is to explore within the park. I look forward to returning and discovering this rich urban forest. Pro Tips: *There is plenty of parking, both as you enter the park and further down near the nature center. Stop in there as well -- You can pick up directions and a map of the park to help plan your visit. There are also events that take place throughout the year. *Admission is free, for everyone to enjoy! *Try to go in the mornings or mid day. *Bring your camera and preserve your memories, it truly is a beautiful place. *As a safety precaution, always make sure to lock your car doors, you can never be too careful! As I continue to return, I will be sure to update you on my various experiences. So I hope you follow along! Muah!

I sometimes walk but mostly bike on the trails with a little one. They are relatively flat and because they are so long, they are rarely crowded. The trail users vary in age and there are plenty of blind curves, so it's not a place to go for fast biking. The scenery is varied and the majority of the trails are shaded. As a bonus, there are lots of places you can dip your feet in the Little Harpeth River. You can bike from Smith Park to the south to Tower Park north of Concord Road. The trails also connect to various neighborhoods, the Brentwood Library, and the Brentwood YMCA. Five stars. Playgrounds: there are several playground at Crockett Park/River Park. The main one near Woodland Middle School between baseball fields. It's large with a divided small kids and big kids section. Kids love it, and there are plenty of benches and tables for parents to sit or for a lunch break. Five stars. Frisbee golf course: 18 holes and, unlike many in the area, clear signage. Some holes are similar and a few are pretty short, but overall good course for a quick game. Four stars. Restrooms: these are all over the park. Some are closed part of the year, but for the most part they are open and reasonably clean for public restrooms. Four stars. Parking: You can park more places than I can count off the top of my head to start your walk, jog, bike ride or attend a sporting event. Amphitheatre: The Eddy Arnold Amphitheatre is great for summer concerts, of which there are many every year. Sports fields: I don't use them at this time, but they are very well maintained and there are a lot of football, soccer, and baseball fields. Parking: You can park more places than I can count off the top of my head to start your walk, jog, or bike ride. This is handy for days when the fields are crowded for soccer and/or football games, because you can avoid the traffic. Most lots are adjacent to a trail. Check it out for one or more of these features when you get a chance.
