There was some craziness going on in our neighborhood (and we live in a very good area of town). Apparently, a man and his wife were in a domestic dispute, and swat had to be called in to take him out. Since we couldn't get to our home for 4 plus hours, my son and I went to dinner, and then to the greenway for some exercise. As we were walking, he was playing Pokémon Go collecting whatever they collect in that game and conducting "raids." I was just enjoying my time with him and the serene view and calm water of the stones river. We even had a rock skipping competition which was fun too. After about an hour or hour and a half, we headed back to our neighborhood and we're able to finally get into our home. Unfortunately, we heard that the man had to be shot and killed by swat.

Clean trails, lots of open space (which made me feel safe), lots of people/pets out enjoying the pathways, waterfalls, small bridges, overlooks, the constant sound of moving water, and fresh air. Major safety concerns with Cane Ridge Ball Park. The infields are turf but why were no funds…read moreallocated to safety nets to prevent serious injury? This past weekend there was a 14 U baseball tournament and baseballs were CONSTANTLY flying around spectator viewing areas as well as landing in other baseball fields during games?!?!? Every 1-2 minutes during games fans were screaming "HEADS UP" because there were so many baseballs being hit outside of the field. The current set up is not safe to host middle school and high school baseball. Lastly, the entrance and walkway in the park does not meet ADA regulations. People cannot safely propel wheelchairs or walkers on the small ramp nor on the walkway leading to the fields. The walkway is uneven, surface area needs replaced and there are large potholes.

This park was founded in 1983, and has over 270 acres, a playground, public restrooms, picnic…read moreshelters, baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, a football/multipurpose field, a mountain bike trail, a disc golf field, and a model airplane airfield, and a paved walking/jogging path. It's hosted baseball tournaments, and been a hotbed of controversy as neighbors have protested the model airplane field and Rutherford County has debated property lines with Davidson. It's a huge park- at one point the third largest in the city. It's gorgeous, too, with a lot of trails.

Sign listed Smyrna PD # to call in case of emergency or report issues. Take note of it as it doesn't appear to a sketch park, perhaps this town, or part of, is sketch. The restrooms that need a lot of attention, very short stall doors so you can see each others faces. It was also smelly and & stuffy.. Lots of parking. Nothing special.
