After making us wait because he was on a call, the second I said two words he interrupted me to tell me "WELL YOU DONT READ DO YOU " to which i havent event finished my question so I had to explain to him that we bought a ticket thru Groupon and wanted to know what the problem was... He then cuts me off again to yell at me that, that is also a problem since we are supposed to buy it 24hr prior a visit. Without even letting me finish my first question to hear me state that I had bought it several days prior as stated on their website. There isn't much parking for this place. They have about 10 spots to park at for this location. We went here to try some archery. I have always wanted to try it. My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday afternoon. We purchased a Groupon. We needed to make a reservation but we couldn't because the phone wasn't working. So we walked in to see if they had anything open for the day. When we arrive the staff asked about a reservation and we informed them about the number not working and the gentleman told us to come back at 3pm the same day because they had a few openings. We arrived back at 3pm. The instructor Estavan walked 7 of us into the indoor archery room where he gave us our instructions and demonstrated how to use the bow and arrow. He asked what was our dominant hand was and gave us arrows. Showed us how to hold the bow and where and how to place the arrow. He demonstrated how to shoot the arrow and how to retrieved the arrow. He showed us how to stand properly. The demo was about 5 minutes long. And the he left the room and then we were able to start shooting our arrows. We were shooting for an hour straight. It was a fun experience. When our time was up one of the gentleman Mike stated if we enjoyed and wanted to come back they have an in house special for repeat customers. This place is SO MUCH FUN!! The employees are super knowledgeable and friendly. They explained the inner workings of the bow, the arrow, form, and there was no judgement and just let us have fun. Right now for COVID, they take reservations and limit the 8 person range to just 4. They mandate masks in the store but not on the range (indoors). I got a groupon for 1hour appt with rental gear and called to make a reservation. All appts start on the hour. My boyfriend has never shot before and became absolutely addicted to it because you really do see yourself improving over the course of an hour. We bought a Groupon for this place while visiting Charlotte. We came on Christmas Eve and had a great time. My party of 4 appreciated the instructors tips and enthusiasm (I forgot his name.. but he was a bunch of fun). We probably shot at least 15 different rounds.. our arms were sore at the end. Everyone who is interested in Archery should totally visit Barefoot Archery in Charlotte, NC. I was gifted an hour archery lesson which was so much fun! I was in a group with 6 other people and an instructor who guided us on how to handle the bow and shoot with accuracy. This really took me back to my Eagle Scout days of archery for a badge, but without all the pressure. We were told to pick a lane and shoot for about 10 yards, which doesn't seem like much, but its a good distance for sure. I compare it to bowling, you have to get warmed up before you really get good, but once you are set... the targets start getting hit! We had a couple of different bow options to choose from, but I definitely prefer the long wooden bows over the smaller faster bows. We were told by one of the guest those are a little harder to work, but it felt natural after a while. This is a great gift or just something to do and I will do this again. read more

My 2 girls have been interested in archery since trying it at Camp Thunderbird for school trips. I saw this place on Groupon for a 1 hr practice session for 2 including bow and arrow rental. It was perfect for an activity to do during our staycation spring break 2022! Barefoot Archery is an indoors range, that was very well organized and clean. There are a lot of different types of bows and arrows for sale as well as other items needed for the sport. The staff was very nice, patient and informative! They offer classes for kids on the weekends which my 2 want to enroll in! Esteban at the counter was super personable as he spoke Spanish and engaged with my Spanish speaking girls as well. He showed us the different types of bows for beginners and let the girls try them. Alyssa was their instructor today and she was gentle and helpful. My hubby and ingot a Groupon to have our first experience with Archery while traveling to Charlotte. We did not read the fine print of the Groupon that mentioned making a reservation 24hours in advance. So be sure to do that! We arrived our last full day in Charlotte, to only be told we had to come back the next day because we didn't have a reservation in place already. Sure..maybe we could have received some grace and been offered a later appointment that day (cause I peaked at the reservation list), but it worked out amazing that they sent us away. On our way back to Atlanta, we stopped here and met the loveliest instructor, Mrs Diane Morris (I hope I got that right). She was super nice and knowledgeable of everything Archery. No one was there at the time we went, so it gave her plenty of time to give us one on one treatment. This lead me to my first and only (lol) shot in the center. She was very focused on having the correct form and them allowing yourself to be lead by your instinct to be constant. If ever you're in Charlotte, be sure to check them out. A unique experience today, I was here with my friend to celebrate her son's 9th birthday. He and five other boys standing up on the line with bows and arrows shooting at targets. Everything looked very safe with a range officer paying close attention to what the boys were doing, where the arrows were pointing and ensuring that everyone was practicing the rules properly. Impressive to see the control and the management. These guys clearly understand their trade. The boys had a very fun time and there are some new archery enthusiasts, for sure! Inside the shop, a major amount of archery gear. Bows, arrows, carrying widgets, cases, quivers, I don't know the terms. Guns are more my style but when you want silent hunting, nothing beats a bow and arrow. read more

Great and unique experience to come and shoot arrows for an hour! Our instructor was extremely enthusiastic and helpful with the finer points and technique of using the bow correctly. By the end of the hour, all of us had hit at least one bullseye and were on our way towards full Robin Hood levels of bow mastery. I would return in a heartbeat for more target practice, or to try to use a crossbow next time. About a week ago I went out on a limb and splurged $200 on a bran new, well discounted 55 pound Bear longbow. It was the last one collecting dust on the shelf of a Gander Mountain. I decided it's been just too long since I last dabbled in the awesome sport of archery. I quickly realized the world is at a tragic lack of places to hone your skills at shooting arrows. Plenty of gun ranges, but I found just this one archery range: Barefoot. So far from where I lived I incorporated a visit into a trip I was taking down to Charlotte anyways. From the moment I walked in with my bow and arrows ready I was pretty blown away. The selection of bows, arrows, accessories and repair items was endless. They have both recurve and compound bows. I'm not into compound bows personally but the place is friendly to whoever comes around regardless of what you shoot. The owner and shop-keep Jesse cut my arrows down to size, changed the nocks out so the fletchings faced the right way for a longbow and reapplied the inserts for next-to-nothing. After a solid hour of shooting as much as my arms and hands could take it was just $10 for the range fee. Before leaving and after scouring the store once more Jesse helped me find a perfectly sized soft-shell case that fit both my bow and my arrows snugly inside. I will DEFINITELY be back! read more

We scheduled some coaching and range time last week and had a great time. My wife and I had been into shooting several years back and now my 11 year old wanted to shoot. They showed us a lot of things we had completely forgotten and for me I went from being all over the place with my arrows to a fairly tight group by the end of the session. For my daughter who had never shot before they were great at showing her how to shoot and she was hitting the target every time. We are going back because she does most things left handed and we want her to try shooting left handed and see how she does before investing in a bow. False advertisement and unkind: so I wanted to buy a groupon for 2 for my kids who are on spring break. Wanted a diff. activity for them to do. I called to make a reservation and the owner said to just come in and get their in house special pricing. So we came in and one gentleman helped my kids for about 5 minutes then left. Nobody was around to answer my kids' questions. I had to keep going into the office and nobody was there. Finally, I found the owner again and asked him a question about how to hold their hands close to face and if he could show them.....he just came in and said "it takes lots of practice" and did not help or show them. We left early, the owner said we have 30min left. I said the kids have not gotten any instruction and this is a waste of time....he said they only get instruction if you pay for a lesson that is $50/person. The Groupon clearly states that they get instruction. He was rude and Impersonal and just did not care. I drove 30+ min each way to be there, and I do not have alot of money to waste. I bought a groupOn. The groupOn stated you needed to schedule an appointment. Scheduling an appointment was easy. A quick phone call. This was my first time shooting a recurve bow. Safety first!!l Jessie showed me how to hold the bow, how to notch the arrow, and how to remove arrows from the target. This made for an enjoyable experience. As i was a young man dry fired a bow. Jessie handled the incident in a calm and collective manner. He instructed why you shouldn't dry fire the bow, what the consequences are of dry firing and provided some parent like comfort to the child to let him know "it's alright. Found out about this place the day of and we called and were sure if we'd get in. Luckily a party had 2 people not show up so we got a walk in and checked it out. As a complete novice in the world of hunting and/or archery, I cannot intelligently comment on how full or varied Barefoot's shop offerings are (though I did see a lot of things that looked capable of shooting...stuff...), I was quite pleased by the service Husband and I received when we went to cash in our group coupon for an hour of archery for 2. A quick call the morning we wanted to go verified that they were open and available, and we were just told to "Come on down!" Upon arriving, we were led to their shooting range, a narrow, long room adjacent to the main body of the shop. Some concise, direct tutelage later, we were leased on our targets! The instructor was obviously very capable, and recited his credentials in a laid-back, offhanded sort of way - you know, just a several year champion placer in various national shooting competitions. Whatever. We appreciated the instruction, but also appreciated being left to our own devices after the introductory lesson. Some 50-odd minutes of target practice later, we left with sore thumbs and shoulders, and big smiles on our faces. While, for me, archery proved a novelty that I would only occasionally be interested in revisiting, Husband really took a shine to it and proclaimed that he would want to more regularly visit in the future. If you have the inkling and the means, and any sort of curiosity about the sport, Barefoot would be a great place to try your hand at the bow and arrow. Their normal rate of $25 for an hour of shooting for one is not a bad deal at all, and if you can seize on a group deal ($25 for two people), it's even better! read more

Had a Groupon for $25 for archery lessons for 2. When I called they told me that "all weekend appointments were booked" even though my Groupon didn't expire for 3 months. Hubs couldn't go during the day so I went by myself. It was fun, the instructor was definitely helpful, and the store appeared to be a great resource for those into hunting and archery. I am a little bummed that I only got 1/2 value out of the Groupon, and that the Hubs didn't get to go with me. They should either advertise that on the Groupon or offer a single purchase option. This was the first time I'd ever tried archery. I didn't even know this was an option or the place existed until I found a Groupon. I got a "two for one" deal on an hour lesson with equipment rental ($25). Before I scheduled I read the reviews on Yelp and kept the negative ones in mind, but my experience was the exact opposite of the negative reviews on here - it was awesome! My review will be longer than normal to give another point of view to people who turn to Yelp when buying a Groupon. When I called to schedule my groupon it was in the middle of the day on a weekday. The guy I spoke to was nice and helpful. I asked if there were better days to come when it wasn't as busy and when there would be less kids (because that's my preference). He told me weekdays are better for what I was looking for, the latest times I could schedule and offered up two week nights to try. I picked my day/time, he scheduled me and that was it. Easy. On the day of my appointment I received excellent treatment and the staff were so nice, helpful and really took their time with us. They set up two lanes for us and we were the only ones there for our lesson. Our instructor was very thorough and explained everything from the rules to how to hold/aim/shoot. She offered suggestions and even shot an arrow for us when I asked her to since it's easier for me to learn when I can see someone else that knows what they're doing. Since it was slow, she offered to take pictures for us and we were even invited to stay past our hour lesson. After my lesson I even talked to them about their negative reviews on Yelp. They explained they offer a high volume of Groupons, have been in business for 44 years and were shocked to see the negative reviews on Yelp. Based on my talks with the staff and my personal experience, I think the negative experiences/phone calls others had were exceptions to their "normal service". I enjoyed my overall experience and will go back. I will also update my review if my opinion changes, but I don't expect to have any issues. read more

The only reason I heard of this place was because of the Groupon they had for a one hour practice session for two. Went with my girlfriend and had a great time, especially for the price. Initially 5-10 minutes of getting setup with a bow, quiver, arm guard, and (since neither myself nor my girlfriend had ever arched before) basics of safety, drawing, aiming, and shooting. I'm an experienced hunter. I love my guns, but this year I decided I wanted to broaden my skill set and extend my deer hunting season by taking up archery. I knew exactly which bow I wanted but made one classic mistake. I bought it from a all under one roof mega outdoors store instead of an archery shop. Big mistake. Just because you work in a certain department doesn't make you an expert. A week after the "tech" set up my bow, my arrows were cork screwing through the air. I was in trouble, that's when I found Bearfoot. The show room was impressive but I knew I was in the right place the moment I meet Jessie. He was very professional and knew exactly what he was talking about. They gave my bow a complete tune up and I picked it up the next day. After test firing and final adjustments I'm the proud owner of a certified nail driver. That's the difference you get out of a specialty shop with real archers. Especially this one!
