The place looked very elegant and fancy. The consultation took about 10 minutes and she went over the process of laser hair removal, what to expect, how to prepare and post laser instructions. We proceeded to the treatment room, and i got my first laser session, which took only 10-15 seconds! I was so surprised at how quick it took and it didn't hurt much at all! In term of service, it is flawless! I had laser before so everything is kinda expected. The space is clean and calm. You will have to get a mandatory consultation where the staff will explain all relevant treatment and inquire what you want. I have gotten most of their packages from upper lip to brazilian and the results are great and well priced for the service you get. My favorite technicians are Vivie and Kiki both are very friendly and gentle and take their time to get each area thoroughly and make sure you experience minimum discomfort and pain. 10/10 would recommend and have recommended a couple of friends who all have had great experiences with other technicians too. read more

Bared Monkey is a great place for laser hair removal. I had zero wait time (they actually saw me early) which is rare in this city. Ella performed the laser and she was so sweet, gentle and explained everything to me! She used two different lasers to accommodate my skin/hair type and they record everything so they have all of your info and laser settings on file for next time. Yes, laser does a hurt a bit but it was not nearly as bad as what I was expecting. Some areas are painless and others hurt a bit more. Overall laser hurt way less than what I was expecting (I did try numbing cream but I don't think it really worked). Today I finished my 6 sessions for my underarms thanks to Groupon. I waited until I finished in order to give an accurate review. It is easy to get to and the spa is located in a building. It's weird because there are many offices, but the spa doesn't match the rest of the building which is a plus. Staff is very nice and they send text and email reminders before your session. Super helpful. They are easy to accommodate you and can help you change your date if anything. The process was super quick since underarms are considered a small area. Amazing! Love this place and highly recommend. Bought a Groupon deal for 6 sessions for a small body part area (underarms). I've already completed 5 sessions but after the 2nd and 3rd, I already saw great results from those sessions. I am allowed to save my last session for if my hair ever grows back too much (which I'll have to see but at this moment, it doesn't seem like I'll ever need to take 30 minutes plucking my underarm hair anymore!). Most of my treatments have been done by Fannie and she is extremely nice and wonderful! She always remembers who I am whenever I come in (usually once every 6 weeks) and is super genuine. She always make me feel welcomed and allows me to feel at ease during every treatment. Couldn't have asked for a better technician! Bared Monkey Laser Spa also sends you a text a few days before your appointment as a reminder and if you have to reschedule, they make it so easy to do so. 18 months ago I tried electrolysis at _______. Based on my research, electrolysis is suppose to be a permanent hair removal which involves dealing with each hair individually. I tried three expensive sessions and no results. I thought I had to deal with my coarse chin hair forever. I had a lot and it was embarrassing. Whenever I shaved you could see the stubble. I never waxed. My friend told me about her "man hair legs," her words not mine, she said she saw immediate results. She explained, yes, the hair would return but never like before. I looked through Groupon and purchased whichever location had the most and best reviews. I purchased a 6-Session packaged. By session two, I didn't need to shave. I still shave the day before the session as recommend for the hair or four, but it's a miracle that has left be smiling for days. Anyone who has coarse chin hair and a lot of it, I recommend trying this location (actually any highly rated laser treatment spa or medical location). If you plan to have laser hair removal, stop waxing now. I've never waxed so it was easy to attack the hair see I really didn't have any dormant hairs. Highly recommend Ella as a technician for laser treatments. She is meticulous, gentle and also very informed about laser removal. I've experienced other technicians at this spa and others where they use the equipment very sloppily and almost carelessly, like a spray hose that lost its owner. Ella controlled the device and each movement had intention behind it. This is important as I want to feel as comfortable as possible while having my eyes covered and body exposed. Not much privacy while at the front desk discussing treatments and payment while other guests are waiting their turn. I just walked out of my appointment. So I actually ended up being about an hour earlier to my assigned appointment, due to the fact that I don't know my way around NYC that well. Seriously, upon entering the lobby waiting area is absolutely clean, and the interior design is elegant and classy, super feminine and illuminating. To checkin in they have iPad and it is seamless. I was then taken to a room to have my consultation and it was fast and efficient. I was explained the machine that was adequate to my skin tone and hair type. This was my biggest concern because as a black woman who did her research I knew what I had to look for in terms of the machine and service needed to target my specific Melanin. Afterwards I literally sat down for 3seconds and was immediately taken to the back. My service lasted seriously 2 minutes max and I was out. The pain was absolutely tolerable because the machine has a cooling mist that goes off every time the laser hits your skin. So it overlaps the snapping that you typically feel.
