We went in for a late dinner and the place was packed. We started with the chili panko crusted pickle chips. They were super hot and tasted so good. I had the toasted Asian salad, it was good, but it had weird flavors and crunches. My friend had the habanero burger and was a happy camper. The service was good until the end when they kind of forgot about us. But we left having a good meal for a reasonable price with smiles on our faces. The pickle chips were the star of the meal for me. read more

Good quality but with somewhat limited choice. Staff was friendly and attentive. Special requests were no problem. .

Soooo good. My job order a big lunch meal. I had the American burger with sweet potato finger. Excellent.

Love this place, but the last two times I've ordered the $3.75 kimchi side, they have sent some gross cole slaw and it's about half full. Wompppp, won't be ordering that again. read more

50% vegan menu - so exciting and utterly delicious! I love their Impossible options - burgers and hotdogs! Bareburger... how I've wanted to try you. When I first heard about you, it was in my cousin's living room. "There's this place I always wanted to try.... they have all these different meats, bison, elk, different sh-" "Cousss.... they have bison???" You have to understand, I had a season of love with burgers when I was in college. A nearby spot, True Food Kitchen, back in Newport Beach had a delicious bison burger. From first bite, I was in love. And from that point on, I was on a quest to find the best burger. My white whale, the best burger, shifts-- it comes and goes at every seating. But when bison is available... it stokes that desire once again. And I hoped that Bareburger could pull it off. (This is a bit delayed as I forgot to check-in, but it's still fresh in my mind -- trust!) My brother and I came here so I could grab a bite before my work meeting. We both ordered the Southern Caviar -- a "Bareburger" consisting of bison patty, country bacon, horseradish remoulade, stout onions all between a brioche bun. Add to that two cokes... cause you gotta have coke with the burger. It arrived after a short wait. I sank my teeth into it; the burger is best when it's fresh off the grill. The meat was tender, the flavors were good. I waited for the foodgasm, but it never came. Bison, as tender as it is, couldn't deliver this time around. Maybe it's the mix of flavors? Don't get me wrong -- it's good! But I wouldn't put it up with the best I've ever had. It didn't help that the coke was pretty flat. I asked for another, and while it had more spritz, like my experience here, it still fell flat. For all that, we split the bill and it came to $20-something with tip. I'd be down to come back and try again, but for what it cost and shoot... how big the burger is... I'm not sure if it'll be anytime soon. But I'm open to it if / when a craving does come up and I don't want to stray too far from home. read more

Not sure why folks are docking this place. Curry ketchup is curry ketchup, people. The wait has always been shorter than the other 2 we frequent and it doesn't feel as crowded because of the layout. It's a little dark, but I'm not complaining. Bison me now! read more

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. The place was pretty busy but we were seated right away! The service here was great and was quick; I believe we were there for a total of an hour. I ordered the Beyond Meat burger, which I'm glad they offered because I'm currently doing the Whole 30 diet. Their menu clearly states what is vegan and gluten free. Didn't order desert but I want to go back for the dairy free milkshakes! read more

Bad service at this location. And not for the first time. It's a Friday night, the website says they close at 11pm, I arrive at 10:20pm, and they say they are closing seating because business is slow, but will do take- out. I was looking forward to sitting for some good organic food tonight, like I've had at the other locations. This is not the first time I have gone there and they closed early, now I remember why I've been avoiding this location. And a friend also remarked to me recently that the takeout service was bad/slow. It's a shame, at this rate this location will close and the workers who are eager to go home early will have no job. Slacking on service during these hard times is no solution. Management needs to either change their hours, or actually manage their staff. read more

Always good and lots of healthy options.

This is a good place for burgers and fries kind of night. Everything was very tasty and I liked their variety of food on the menu. The prices are reasonable for this type of place on the UES. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. read more

Ahhh!!! I just love BareBurger. This location was probably better than other locations because of the amazing customer service. I got take out and the waiters were still very attentive as I waited for the order. They provided water, kept me posted about the order, and so forth. The food was amazing when I got home and everything was accurate. No complaints!! read more

I loved the experience at Bareburger - Yorkville. Unique place. It was my first time trying Duck Bacon here, and I will have to admit it was a lot better that I ever could expect it to be. Came here on national burger day. Weren't sure why the reviews were so bad, but now we know. The service is so bad. Once we sat down, we were immediately forgotten. Never checked up on once and it would always take several tries to get the waiter's attention. Mind you, the restaurant only had a few tables occupied. And our food took FOREVER to come. You really do have to "bare" w them for your burger. They ran out of real burgers and only had veggie burgers left for national burger day veggie burger- first of all, it's not a burger. There's no buns. It's a small rice party in like collard greens or something-very leathery and bitter. I couldn't even finish it. This may be the first time I've ever regretted something I got for free. Even Pitbull "wraps" better than this. French fries and onion rings-these were good, but not spectacular. read more

Satisfied and convenient but never more. That was why we kept going back, until I got very sick the last time (First time I tried the bison burger). They also do some strange stuff with their kids food, like seeds on the grilled cheese. read more

We have been loyal customers for years, but tonight we ordered here for the last time. Food was cold, condiments were missing, and both burgers were missing key ingredients. I love Bareburger! It's the perfect pick for when you're feeling a little healthy, not healthy at all, or somewhere in between. We came here for dinner a few weeks ago, and it was the same great food as any of the other Bareburger locations. The space is comfortable, and they have high, tall booths lining the walls with crayons for coloring at your table (okay, these may usually just be for the kids...!). I got the vegetarian guadalupe in a collard wrap because I was feeling like something a little lighter, and this was really good. It felt light but hearty and relatively healthy, which I looked. We also split the onion rings and fries app (because it's not a "burger" without fries!), and these were pretty good - crispy without being too oily. For meat eaters, I like that there's a bunch of healthier options so you can really go as healthy as you want in terms of the meat pick. I've had salads at other locations which have been good as well, filling and generous with the toppings so it doesn't feel sparse. I wish this had the new vegan impossible burger option that's in the downtown location and some of the boroughs, but I'm hopeful that it'll come soon! read more

This is my favorite burger place and they have a whole vegan menu. The food is organic and very tasty.

I have been to bare burger many times and had positive experiences. The other day I ordered from GrubHub and my order was never confirmed via the app. I had to call the restaurant and they said my food was ready and then when I got it my fries (which I requested extra crispy) were so soggy and the food was also not hot. Will never order via grubhub again, the staff is clearly incompetent. read more

I was pretty excited when I saw Bare Burger was opening in this location, but I have been gravely disappointed since it did. The problem is they have so many really good ideas but they are not executed well. Their menu might be to big and the service at this particular location is TERRIBLE! Every single time I have gone here, I have had bad service. The last time my boyfriend and I went was during a shift change. Our waitress didn't tell us she was leaving, if she would have, we would have paid before she left. But she didn't and no one else came over to help us. We had to ask for our dishes to be cleared and we waited another 10 minutes for someone to drop the check and no one did. That same day, on a whim we decided to order the breakfast sandwiches because they sounded so good! Fried eggs, maple sausage ect.. They were terrible. We both ordered our eggs over easy, my bf specified that he wanted his eggs runny and they were completely over cooked. Never again. The burgers were always just ok, and for the price they should be cooked perfect and seasoned well! All and all, go to the burger bistro. It is right down the block. They have great options, great drinks, and they won't mess up your order. read more

These burgers are *amazing* and probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Was a little skeptical of the restaurant on whether it would just be subpar due to the 3.5 star rating but wow after eating this burger couldn't believe it didn't have better ratings! I got the bison burger that had a fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese, and I substituted the egg for duck bacon. Everything on the burger was super flavorful and really worked well together to have an incredible taste. My group also got the half regular fry and half sweet potatoes fry and these were good as well. They were pretty standard fries though and nothing to rave about but I was so focused on the burger I didn't even need fries! If you want an amazing burger check this place out. The only downside was service wasn't the quickest but wasn't horrible. The burger was so good the service doesn't justify docking then of 5 stars!!! read more

My husband and I had heard that Bareburger was opening a new location in our neighborhood and we were eager to try it. When we walked in we saw it was crowded and there weren't many tables opened, so we decided to get take out. The girl who helped us (Niki) was so rude. She wasn't paying attention to anything we were saying. We had to repeat our order a few times. We only ordered 3 things so it wasn't that complicated. She didn't say how long it would take, or where to wait, so we just sat at the bar. We figured it would take around 10-15 minutes for our food to be ready, but nope, it took about 30 minutes. Not only did it take 30 minutes, but our order sat out for 10 minutes before anyone even gave it to us. The staff is careless, rude, and very inexperienced staff. And, to top it all off, the food was nothing special! If the food was good I would put aside the terrible service, but bad food and bad service, there is no way I can let that go. So disappointing. read more

Takeout cashier swiped my giftcard 4x, gave me my receipt, then a few minutes later called me back to request an additional $0.65, which took another 3 swipes to process and a signature to complete. As at other Bareburgers, the staffers are always crazy rushed and don't give anyone room to stand waiting for their food despite copious space. Their shake menu is confusingly unclear -- the first portion lists options for what are essentially flavor syrups (which is mentioned nowhere) is actually either a chocolate base or a vanilla base, with as many flavor additions as your heart desires (the cashier conceded that this confuses everyone) -- went with a chocolate base with peanut butter, raspberry, and strawberry. Peanut butter is of course naturally overpowering, but they still really got the ratio wrong here, as no other flavor was apparent; they also dropped what was to be my cup and served the product unnervingly soon after (not clear they tossed it and gave a new one). Pricey, tiny, & super thick; as I've said before, the slurpee straw makes no sense. read more

I came here with a group of 6 co-workers for a team lunch and the service and food were both amazing! We sat outside in order to sit comfortably, wouldn't recommend coming here with a group of more than 6 honestly. Had the Mexican chocolate shake with tasted just like a frozen Abuelita hot chocolate, which was delicious. We ordered two orders of regular fries and one order of sweet fries for the table which was just enough for the table. I got a build your own burger; beef, spinach, mayo, and guac. The burger was great and I left feeling extremely pleased. Would definitely come back and bring friends. read more

Okay... I am officially a "regular" to this Bareburger location. I am cool with that. My typical order usually includes some kind of salad or lettuce-wrapped burger (Elk, Ostrich, Beef, in rank order), sweet potato fries, and house red wine. The staff here is super friendly and knows there stuff -- I totally trust any recommendations as every time I come here it's the same decision-making struggles of which meat to choose. This is the perfect place if you follow a paleo lifestyle. Everytime feels as enjoyable as the first. read more

I want to love this place! They are right across the street from my apt, would love to make it our local burger place. I love their mission statement. I love their friendly staff. Love the decor. OK so, for someone to write a review with 2 stars and say they "dont dislike the place"... you can't be trusted. I'm here weekly, sometimes more. I ordered on seamless and the food arrived freezing cold and inedible. It took me 3 attempts to get a refund from seamless but the restaurant manager is said to be unavailable all 3 times so no refund could be given without their approval. I've been extremely happy with Bareburger and have found it to be a welcome addition to the UES. The burgers are always done exactly as I request, and their onion rings cannot be beat. Their different dipping sauces are also great. Bareburger offers a large selection of meats to choose from. You don't have to settle on beef every time. Want to try an elk burger? They've got it. If you are not in the mood for a burger, they also have a good salad selection to choose from. My girlfriend enjoys their cob salad and has had it on a few occasions. Beer and wine is also available .... as well as a good selection of sodas. I know Bareburger has become a chain throughout the city, but this is one that I have no problem frequently on a regular basis. read more

This is the first Bareburger I've visited - not sure if other locations may taste better but I was definitely not impressed with the experience here. Actual service from our waitress was great once we got seated but we were told we had an initial wait of 20minutes at the door. The person at the door seemed confused and unsure of what was happening .. Strange. Burgers were at regular prices for NYC standards - but it was nothing special, I would say pretty average/forgettable out of all the burgers I've had in the city. Fries/onion rings were good but it's hard to mess that up. I tried the bison burger which I guess was a novelty thing but the burger lacked flavor.. I tried a bite of the beef burger too and that was also average. 3 people - a burger each, fries/onion ring combo to share with a soda each - came to $25 or so per head including tax and tip. I won't be back. read more

Never get delivery from here. The food is great but the delivery service is absolutely horrible. I will not eat here again after the ordeal that took over an hour and a half to deliver a sandwich 3 blocks. Here is the ordeal... Placed Order at 3:26pm for delivery. Order says delivery around 4:16. 440PM I call the resturant and they say there is no order and I must have ordered from the wrong place. I get up my receipt, read them the address of the bareburger and am told there is no order. I argue I have been billed on my CC and again told there is a order and thank you (trying to hang up). "Wait Wait Wait." I protest and start reading my email receipt to them. "Oh..." then they read back my order. "Buffalo Chicken?" "It will be there soon. Thank you." (tries to end phone call again) I protest and ask "when will I get my food?" "Um... like 15 minutes or so." And then hangs up. Food finally showed up at 4:58 pm. Over an hour and a half to deliver one sandwich 3 blocks. I sent the store an email about this terrible encounter but they never got back in touch with me. read more
