Jen is a muscular miracle worker. She's got a wide range of massage therapy tools at her disposal (hot rocks, cupping, oils), and a two-hour massage allows ample time for exercising just about all of them. She's genuinely authentic, professional and, if you choose, a lovely conversationalist. Still, if you need the quiet, meditative time, she gives that freely. Ask for a drop of water, she gives an ocean. I sleep better than normal every two to three days after an appointment with Jen. Wait... what am I saying? NO, DON'T GO SEE HER! Tara did an amazing job with my lash extensions! This was my first time getting them and I'm in love. My first set fell off less than 48 hours after I got them and Katie contacted me immediately after I notified them to schedule an appointment for a new set free of charge. I really enjoyed coming here today. I haven't been able to find a good waxing place near me and even though this place is 20+ minutes away from my house it is worth it. I got just a basic upper lip and eyebrow wax but I'm very happy with it. My skin is very sensitive and this was my first time getting my lip done so I was kinda worried. However, upon looking at my face after, there is very limited redness. It doesn't hurt or anything and the redness is already faded a lot. So overall, I give this place 5 stars and will be making appointments here from now on. Also, Rayna was super nice and I definitely recommend her. read more

I first visited Katie in September of 14. I recently moved back to the area and needed a new place for waxing. What attracted me to Bare Philosophy was the online booking and coupon on yelp. She was quick and thorough with my Brazilian. I also got my lip and brows done. The next day after my appointment I received a personal email from Katie. I told her how I felt my eyebrows were too thin and she apologized and encouraged me to come back again. I went back today for those same services and was very pleased! The only thing that is comparable to my previous esthetician is the education and information she provided for me. I didn't look at a mirror unto I got home. I have some in grown hairs and my old esthetician would point those types of things out to me during my appointment and would usually try to take care of them then or tell me what I should do to get rid of them. Tried this spa because I had a Groupon and was certainly surprised by the amazing experience that I had. I have gotten Brazilian waxed many times at many different salons. It always hurt terribly bad but I just thought "no pain no gain". And assumed it was supposed to hurt like that. I went for my appointment with Rayna and my first impression was that the spa was beautiful, relaxing, and smelled great. I got on the bed bracing myself for the pain. She started in the back...no pain. But the back always hurts way less anyway so I was still bracing. She worked her way to the front and it barely was hurting at all. About as bad having my lip waxed. She was pleasant and we chit chatted while she was waxing and before I knew it she said "all done!". I couldn't believe it was over! It was so quick and almost painless. I will NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE AGAIN!! It's a tad more expensive that my previous spa but a lot cheaper than some other places I've been. And well worth paying that little bit extra. It's been 3 days since my appointment and my results are awesome! Hardly any healing time. This was my first visit to Katie for brazilian, but not my first waxing. Outstanding service, aseptic technique, and very thorough job. I have been to 4 other places over the years.
