I have been getting my birthday cakes and celebration cakes from Barb's Bakery for the past seven years, and I can confidently say this place is amazing. They truly do not miss. Every time we bring one of their cakes to a party, it gets eaten so fast, which says everything you need to know. It honestly feels like such a hidden gem. The shop is small, and there is even another business inside, but do not let that fool you. You are getting quality every single time you walk in. What I love most is the texture of their cakes. They are perfectly fluffy, not too sweet, and not too dense. It is that perfect balance that is hard to find. I highly recommend the white chocolate raspberry cake. Even though I am usually not a big fan of fruit in cakes, this one completely changed my mind. It is just that good. On top of everything, she is incredibly kind and even lets you taste the cakes beforehand so you can find what you like. That level of care really makes the experience even better. I truly hope they stay in business for a long time because I will forever be getting my cakes from here. read more

I've used Barb's Cakery for events like my baby shower, my daughter's first birthday, and my brother even used Barb's as his wedding cake. This business is tidy, well taken care of, well managed, and most of all - it is incredibly delicious. Everything I have purchased has been custom and hand painted. The detail and care that goes into each small cupcake or individual cookie will blow you away. I always recommend barbs to those looking to stray away from the usual corporate bakery places to something more local. Thank you Barbs for helping us create memories and being apart of our family milestones. read more

Truly THE BEST BAKERY IN THE VALLEY! Karen and all the staff are outstanding! I have been ordering all my special occasion cakes from Barbs for many years! You will not be disappointed!!!!! read more

The cake was pretty. I specifically gave instructions that when they arrived they needed to have the delivery person put the fresh flowers on the cake (this was the prearranged agreement and part of their $30.00 delivwry fee). I stated I'd have the precut flowers in water next to the cakestand outside and to enter through the gate. Time went by and the cake never arrived. Finally I went indoors Finally I went indoors and there the cake was sitting. They knocked on the front door and someone had answered and let the cake in. The person that answered disnt know about the arrangements I had made woth them about the flowers. They didnt call me and just left. Needless to say, I was disappointed with them and will (and did) go back to Frosted Cakery. You pay premium prices for premium product AND service. read more

Barb's did such a beautiful job with our wedding cake and cupcakes! They brought my vision to life so perfectly. In fact, it was even better than I had even imagined! All our guests raved about the cupcakes! Pricing was very fair for all we got and they were amazing to work with. Loved their sample boxes and they were kind enough to pack them up so we could try at home. We would definitely recommend Barb's for your wedding or event! read more

I cannot believe I haven't done this yet!! Hands down, the best cake in Fresno/Clovis!! It is so moist, every time! We have used them for birthday cakes and a host of other special occasions. They did the cake for our anniversary party. It was 3 tiers and because we were married in December, they decorated with poinsettias. They delivered the cake to the church and set it up for us. They are a little pricey but you get your money's worth in both quality and service. I can't say enough good things about Barb's!!! read more

It's hard to believe that they can provide this level of quality at such a reasonable price. We will continue to recommend Barb's bakery to all our friends and family! read more

My fiancé and I had our cake tasting and I must say this cake was amazing. We had 4 different flavors and it was really a tuff choice to decide because they were all good. We're so excited to see our wedding cake put all together for our special day. THANK YOU Barbs Cakery for making this experience amazing read more

Their cake flavors were good, and everything was baked perfectly. My only problem is their decoration. I'm not sure if it was a miscommunication or what, but I ordered a gold drip nearly naked cake from them. The gold drip looks like a toddler did it. I had to spend the night before my wedding trying to fix it. We even paid extra for the gold drip...and spent even more in materials trying to make my wedding cake not look like a trainwreck. I'm so mad that I don't have a picture of the original... 8/10 for flavor 2/10 for decoration read more

Excellent service. Wedding Cake was beautiful and delivered and set up perfectly. I would use them again.

Wow!!! Ordered Our wedding cake from here after recommendations from friends. I sampled a couple of other popular local bakeries for wedding cakes and was not impressed so decided to go with Barbs (without taste testing). Best decision Ever. It was so delicious! Beautiful, Moist, and just the right amount of sweet. Was just perfection!! Highly recommend. read more

I ordered my son's birthday cake and when I picked it up I was shocked. It looked like a 10 year old decorated it. I talked to 6 decorators about this cake and it still looked horrible. I thought they ran out of frosting since it was nothing like I asked for. I will not be back. It was a175 dollar disaster. This was going to be the last birthday party I could ever give my son I am so sick over this. read more

I went to go pick up the cake 10 minutes late. the lady was upset and told me to put the flowers on myself. the design looks like they just smeared it on there and it's only on one side of the cake. I was so embarrassed to have this cake at my baby shower I started contacting anyone that could make me a replacement. I wish they would have just told me that they didn't know how to decorate the cake and I would have chose to do something else. It looks nothing like the Inspiration photo. read more

When we were searching for our wedding cake, The people at Barb's made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. From the inception of our entrance, we were greeted with a warm hello. They scheduled us for a tasting with about 6 different tastings. They educated us on what we can do on different cakes such as fondant versus buttercream. We showed the young lady various designs and assured us what they could and couldn't do. We felt very comfortable with her advice. My husband even changed the design of the entire cake the last week of the wedding. Needless to say, the staff of Barb's was very accommodating. I must say, being a gay couple planning for a wedding, we receive some resistance from certain vendors and that's ok. They just weren't going to get our business/money and most importantly we respect their views. The day of the wedding, the cake looked and most importantly, tasted amazing! We had the chocolate with fudge filling and the spice with buttercream. Many guests mentioned they never eat the wedding cake, but that our cake was delicious! Everyone, including the grooms, were impressed with the professionalism of their staff and the taste of the cake. Thank you Barb's Cakery for the beautiful cake for our wedding. We look forward to ordering many other "special event" cakes from you! Love, Mike and Rudy read more

I was looking for a special cake to order for a graduation party and most of the locations I researched charged per slice or were way too pricey. Barbs cakery fit my price range so I decided to give them a shot. I went in with a picture of what I wanted the cake to look like and they told me they could make it happen. Took no more than 10 mins. I decided to go with a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting 1/2 sheet. $55 + $15 due to the customized features I wanted to add. It was a bit much but I have no regrets because the cake came out just how I wanted it. Not to mention it was also delicious. I normally don't eat frosting on cake but on this occasion I had to make an exception! I was told a 1/2 sheet could feed up to 50 people. I had a party of 30 and we barely got through half of it. (I'm not complaining though, plenty of leftovers=cake for breakfast.) If you're considering ordering a cake do it 1 week prior to the date you'll need it. If that cake is a wedding one I believe they want to know months in advance. I had no problems with my visit or my order. If you do order a large cake my recommendation would be to have someone to hold it when you go to pick it up. I had to learn the hard way how difficult It can be to transport a cake while driving during traffic hour. read more

When she woke up this morning, Mom asked if there was any of her birthday cake left. She said, "That was the best cake I've had in 90 years!"
