Established in an affluent suburb of Dallas in 2004 and catering to those who can afford a pricey haircut worth every penny, it's been a perfect addition to the North Brentwood area! Even their basic haircut includes a shampoo and one free water, soda, or beer. The Benchmark cut is my preference, adding a face and scalp massage, a second free drink, a hot towel, and more! Perhaps the best part was the paraffin wax hand dip that makes hands feel incredibly smooth, especially during the winter when they're dry and cracked. The Boardroom even has a pool table, and I'm pretty sure I could have stayed to play a round if I had asked. Although maybe that's just a prop? Within seconds of talking to Ben on the phone, I knew first off I wanted to shake his hand and thank him for his service and his commitment to our country, It's not my story to tell for him, I'll leave that to him. He mentioned he needed to wait approximately a month before he would be back to work so I decided I would just try and trim/thin out my hair a bit because I clearly wanted to wait for Ben. I did mess up my hair a bit but was able to hide most of it and I called Ben to see if I could schedule the moment he was ready and much to my delight he was able to move up his time frame within 3 days. Ben the barber - location was extremely easy and convenient. All I did was tell him the way you see it is the way I wear it and I like it to just kind of lay down. We both laughed a little bit about what I did to my hair and he pointed out some things he needed to do to help correct it. So I went through Booksy app and made appointment with Mr. Renfroe for a 515 haircut. Went to work an hour earlier so I could get off work an hour early to make my way across town in traffic so I could be there on time. I arrived at 453pm...walked in and sat down, It's a nice shop with ten or more barbers in it. Nice chill vibe , good mix of culture with rap music playing on one side and Spanish/latin music on the other but neither one too loud. SOOO after about 10mins of walking in I received a text from Mr Renfroe that it would be 530 for my appointment due to him running behind...Ok no problem only 15mins right....WRONG!. ....548 rolls around and I'm seeing he's finally finishing up dude in chair...dude gets up and ANOTHER guy who's apparently had been waiting as well hops in the chair! WTH?! So I gather myself before I get irate...get up and approach Mr Renfroe inquiring about my appointment that was at 5:15 and his only reply was "Yea I'm running late but I gotcha " ... No Dude You Don't! It's after 6pm and you're starting another client that's gonna take you at least an hour to finish! Which means I'm not going to get in the chair till at least 7pm ish! THATS BS! So again I ask what's the purpose of making an appointment through the app that will charge 1/2 of the price if you cancel too late or no show but I was neither! Piss poor planning on the part of the barber! It shouldn't matter on whether if it's your regular clients or new clients...if the client is hella late and cuts into other appointments the right thing to do is be a professional barber should let that client know he will have to be rescheduled or wait! Not push your on time clients appointments back over an HOUR AND MORE! So basically I ended up wasting time...was not able to get haircut cause no other barbers in there were available... The place smells of strong hair product chemicals first thing in the morning through afternoon. They don't do a good job of airing this place at all. Been here 15-20 times now. Lastly, they use very loud and high-pressure air to blow off hair from you, including your head. It is extremely loud and unsafe to be used next to your ears. They don't warn you of this either so it's not only unpleasant but it's also random. Really should use classing hair dryer (the good ones are quiet). Overall, bad experience and it got worse over time as pricing went up significantly also.
