I thought I had pre-booked a reservation, and we were running late. Parking in this area can be a trick. I dropped my wife off and continued to locate parking. She contacted me and said there was no reservation. I panicked as I parked my truck and sifted through my emails for a confirmation. I hustled the 0.4 miles back to her. When I went in the hostess said it wouldn't be a problem and brought us to a table. My wife later told me she was offered tea while she waited. The waiter was on spot. He knew their menu and provided us with his insights. All the food was Devine. Beautifully laid out and brought out each course in the perfect time. My wife loved the hibachi, she doesn't eat much in general and I do most of the cooking at home. She couldn't get enough of putting items in the hibachi and moving them around. Guess I need a hibachi at home lol. Also my wife is 86 pounds, so she gets cold easy. The hibachi was the perfect personal heater too!! We had a great time together. The ambiance had that perfect Japanese appeal, while still modern. I used to live in Japan so I can be skeptical when it comes to Japanese flair & food. This establishment did not disappoint. So if you are in Montreal, I highly recommend giving this place a go. Side note, pricing is very reasonable considering what is included in packages. And the Saki I had was delicious and looking it up for the going rate they make around $5 per bottle based on what they sell it for and market retail price (place around the corner up charges 110%). So you are more than getting what you pay for in my opinion. And sometimes you just cannot put a price on excellent service! We will definitely be returning when we venture. To Montreal again.

The spring rolls taste like the frozen veggie ones from Asian supermarkets. The salad and rice were also nothing special. However, the for value it's not bad. We got the premium set for 2, which was $120 (tax & tip included). For anyone that's not a big eater, it's a good alternative to gyubee. Service was very attentive although the kitchen was quite slow. Our appetizers came 1 hour after our meats arrived, which was a bit strange. Ambiance is a bit cold since the tables are so close to the doors, so we constantly felt a gust of cold air during our visit.

The service was not good. People that came in well after us got there food before us. Our waitress was definitely overwhelmed and getting clumsy as a result. She knocked a woman's purse off her chair and a glass of water over. She was forgetting things and just seemed overwhelmed. When we finally got our meals they weren't good. I ordered the filet mignon with butterfly shrimp. The shrimp was split open but still had the shell / legs on it. I don't believe the steak was actually a filet and was definitely overcooked. I had ordered potatoes too in lieu of fries and never received them. I asked the waitress about them. She apologized and said they would be right out but I never got them. They were on the bill and I had asked that they be removed. My daughter and boyfriend's meals were just ok. No real flavor. Overall it was disappointing and overpriced for un flavorful food. I would not go back or recommend.

We were seated immediately by a friendly waitress. I got the Tom Collins drink, which was great, and my husband was recommended a really great red wine (I don't recall the name). He got the 4 course dinner (fantastic deal for the money) and I ordered a half rack of ribs. My ribs were very good, but a bit fatty. His dinner was incredible. It started off with one of the best french onion soups I have ever had. It was the perfect appetizer for the cool winter. His main course was filet mignon, which was tender and perfect. Dessert was delicious - apple crumble with ice cream. Loved this place!

Definitely a must if you like smoke BBQ…read more They have pretty much every meat, chicken, brisket, pork, ribs, they also have mac and cheese and different sides They also have a sharable option on there's menu which is great if you wanna share food and also try different things of the menu Staff is very friendly, they have a small seating area but I suggest to do take out. We got the chicken and rib for 2 ppl , it came with chicken, ribs, brisket, 1 mac and cheese and 2 sides. This is enough for almost 4 ppl I can say the portions are very big which is nice. The meat was falling off the bone and it was very tasty and flavourful. I definitely recommend, you see them make the food in front of you because it's an small open kitchen Will definitely go again for sure

Well I was…read moreactually highly encouraged by my friend at @shutupandeatmtl to give it a try and boy was I not disappointed -- yee-haw! Who can refuse low-and-slow smoked ribs? The ribs had similar bite and mouth feel as a tender and juicy steak and actually tastes like pork - not just the sauce. The meat tugs off the bone (not pre-boiled) rather than fall off the bone (pre-boiled). And then there was the smoked chicken - coated in homemade spice rub, then slow smoked to tender juicy perfection with skin thin as paper as the fat all melted off. This is some of the best chicken I've ever eaten! The "coup de grace" was the brisket - the holy grail of all meats. I had a small slice of the center part of the brisket, the most tender, juicy, meat full beefy flavours - especially the burnt edges where caramelization is most prominent. Words alone cannot describe it. Then dipped in the chimichurri-like sauce which simply enhanced the experience even more! Look forward to return to this epic joint and meet with owners: Laurie, Gregory, and Miguel. Oh must not forget the attentionate Kate! Dang that BBQ was guuud.

No more wonderful steak Philly on the Friday. Most of what was offered on that daily menu is permanently gone. They added many different poutine that actually existed before but part of a secret menu you could learn from their social network page. Some starter too. They change the recipe of some of the food. The Mac N cheese is now more creamier and the cheese is more present and flavourful. I never had it by itself, but in the poutine Mac TeX, it's a miss for me. It used to be the poutine I always take when I go there, poutine Mac TeX. Tried it 4 times already since the switch, always the same and I don't like it unfortunately. Maybe others don't. From the post they made on Instagram stating that it was now creamier due to popular demand, I guess that's how people like it. But I think people was taking it by itself and not into a poutine (I never see much people eating a mac te when I'm there). Also the new Mac N cheese on the Mac TeX make it you taste nothing except the creamy liquid cheese from the Mac N cheese, nothing else. I normally add the homemade steak sauce available on the table in the poutine and when I tried it with the new recipe, it wasn't good. I also trie the dirty Poutine. I totally forgot what it is. There's like 2 sauce, I think it's meat sauce? Sorry I really forget. It was good, but about half way through, I was done with the taste just like the current Mac TeX. I still finished it though. Again, it's not bad, everyone has different taste and I started by liking it. I had the same experience when eating the smashburger poutine after eating a smash burger. Don't do it, take either one, not both unless your really into the taste of smashburger cause that's the only thing you taste. Last time I went, I took again the smashburger double cheese and bacon, a must for me, and I took a regular poutine. First time in what, 2 years and at least 30 visit that I take the regular one. It was good. I do miss my og Mac TeX but it's a good replacement. The bonus is it cost about 10$ less and fill less, so I was able to take something off the desert menu for the first time. I toon the chocolate cake and it was very good. The service is always good when I go there. It might be a bit a miss when it's overbooked specially if your table is hidden In a corner (happened a bit in the past). The only reason I bring from 5 to 4 stars is only because I prefered the old menu and old recipe. I did talk to a staff last time about the Mac TeX recipe and was told sometime it's because of new chef. I guess he wasn't aware that the recipe actually change, he did seemed new since I hadn't seen him before. I'll talk to jack or one of the owner last time, not to bad mouth, simply to have feedback from customer on the menu.
