I would never recommend anyone receiving a haircut from Michael. As a first time customer in his shop, I wasn't treated with respect from him. Michael pushed my line back on my head on both corners. I wasn't pleased with his work and when I told him of my grievance, he proceeded to argue with me like I was wrong. Saying "he has been cutting hair for 30 years". I then told him look brother, I'm not going to go back and forth with you. It's over, just finish and I'm out of here. Michael still continued to ask me about what he did wrong even though I told him several times. Michael seems arrogant and very disrespectful not knowing he was speaking to a millionaire today, who happens to be the first cousin of someone extremely famous (Malik Yoba). While this really doesn't matter at all, but what does matter is the number of people that will now know not to come to this shop in Saginaw Texas (100 Belmont street). I will make sure this gets out to the masses. I explained to Michael, you should never argue with a customer especially after they paid you $50.00 for a jacked up hair cut and beard line up. Mike is trash. Take note from your daughters on how to be a professional. They're the real stars in that shop. You crossed the line when you tried to use my child to protect your hurt ego. When he cut my child, he literally cut my child and after I brought it to his attention, he went on a tangent eventually blaming an 11-year-old. A simple apology is all Mike needed to do but apparently, he's too INSECURE to take accountability. Turns out Mike was too busy trying to watch a football game instead of paying attention to what he was doing and then lied (on a child) claiming he kept moving his head to watch TV. IF that was the case then Mike should've said something to him (or me) about keeping his head still. But he didn't because he LIED. My son doesn't even like football and he's not new to haircuts. Mike became instantly defensive when I addressed him about the bloody abrasions. No empathy whatsoever. What a lunatic! This is strike 2 over his carelessness. 1st strike is when I confronted him about being neglectful in lightening my hair. He did a rush job because he didn't know how to multitask with other clients and didn't allow the product to fully process. He didn't take accountability then either. I had to make a second trip to the salon for him to fix it. Again, learn how to take your time and pay attention to what you're doing so you can stop doing half-a**ed work. Your business cards are in the trash and remove my picture from your page because I don't want to be associated with your salon! You didn't deserve my business. Mike's real issue with me is that I SEE THRU him and called him out - Narc Injury. These types of people are charming until they're exposed. He clams up and blames everything but himself. It's quite sickening. Nothing against Kennedy. You do great work sweetheart! Unfortunately, Mike's ego costed you 2 clients. Keep shining and know that you're awesome! Worst service experience of my life! I did a walk-in for a two strand twist & the owner told me to return at 5PM because no one was available at the time. 90 minutes before my appointment I receive a call asking that I come in the next day. I expressed my annoyance but agreed. I come in for my appointment & explain to the owner that I had surgery the week prior & have little mobility in both arms so I've been unable to tend to my hair. I also add that I had a hair appointment the day before my surgery (at another salon) but had to cancel due to a medical emergency. I include this context because clearly this something that I'm insecure about due to the circumstances with my mobility. The owner shampoos my hair and doesn't blow it out. I sit w/ a towel on my head for 45 minutes while I wait for the hairdresser to finish on another client. The hairdresser twists my hair & doesn't bother cleaning up my edges. When I ask about my edges she states she would apply edge control but she doesn't have any. The two strand twist was subpar at best but the hairdresser was nice and respectful at least. During checkout I'm expect a $75 bill but I'm charged an additional $20 for the shampoo. I'm confused because I read the price list & this was not clearly stated. I pay & go home. I'm unsatisfied with my hairstyle because since the owner decided not to blow out my hair there's a lot of shrinkage. I reach out via phone to seek clarity about pricing & my service. The owner states that they should have charged an extra $25 instead of $20 for the shampoo & makes it clear that a blow dry does come with a shampoo. He also says some of his services are à la carte. I explain that I've never walked into a salon for two strand twists and not received full service (especially a shampoo & no blow out) but acknowledge I was just unaware of the à la carte pricing. Throughout this discussion he reminds me three separate times that my hair was matted. I'm unsure why he continued to dramatize the state of my hair. It felt like he was just being mean and insensitive because I was expressing my disappointment with my service. When I ask why I didn't receive a blow dry he states he didn't think I needed one because of my hair type and again mentions my hair was matted. I state that I have 4C hair (& he goes on this tangent about what hair types really mean) & I experience a lot of shrinkage. I then ask why he thinks I wouldn't need a blow dry if he was aware of my hair type? He says this was my first time coming to the salon & he just believed I didn't need a blow dry. I'm now left with this hairstyle and I can't even do anything about it because I have no mobility in my arms to fix it myself or to even take it down. I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone. I regret even bothering to seek clarity. Instead of using this as a teachable moment the owner used this as an opportunity to berate a client. Please beware. read more

Upon walking in I was immediately acknowledged and asked to sign it. I did so and within 15 mins, i was called back. I had no idea what condition my hair was in, however, I was ready to cut it all off. The stylist assessed my hair and used products that were perfect for my hair type. After the dryer, he did a blowout and then flat iron & curled my natural hair within 20 mins. My hair felt soft, light, bouncy, curly, and didn't even need a trim. I had to have an educated, knowledgeable stylist to handle the issues I came in for: dryness, bouncy, and ends trimmed. My hair felt great and Michael did something that hadn't happened in a month. I was able to run my hands through my hair, shake, and keep the curls. Overall, amazing experience, and would return. The entire staff was outstanding and friendly. read more

Michael cut my hair and honestly I'm never going anywhere else again. I don't know exactly what the name of my haircut is, but I know that this man has my business for life. I got my hair exactly the way I wanted it, and then some. 10/10. The atmosphere in this barbershop is unlike any I've seen in this area, let alone Texas. Go see Michael, he'll hook you up with a fresh cut. And it's not too expensive either. I'd originally been going to Taperz down the street, and Options has better customer service and better barbers overall. It only took 10 minutes for me to be seen, and then only 15 minutes for my haircut. I can't stress enough how great the experience was. I will be back. read more
