The barber actually asked before performing any services- because he may have not mentioned or left out not wanting his mustache trimmed for example. FINALLY!!!! We decided to give them a chance as they didn't look terribly busy and they were welcoming upon entering. The barber did a decent job the first time, so we decided to make an appointment to come back for a follow-up haircut, that was a mistake we still regret to this day. I had an appointment scheduled at 2 pm with Zayn (A PRE-PAID scheduled appointment might I add, you have to pre-pay in order to book an apointment which at the time I thought was odd... why would you pay for a haircut WITH TIP before even getting the service done? Red flag number 1 that I foolishly ignored) We arrived 15 minutes prior to our appointment as we were trying to be respectful and uphold to the PREPAID appointment time. He had a client in his chair so we decided to take a seat and patiently wait for him to finish, again we were early so that was fair. Upon waiting for him to finish we were uncomfortable in the waiting area, there was very loud vulgar music playing, people eating snacks, and conversing very loudly. It looked more like a frat house with a bunch of "dude-bros" just paling around. We sat and waited 30+ minutes PAST our appointment time, we were 1 minute from walking out. The only reason we waited that long after our scheduled appointment was because again, we already paid AND TIPPED this person, if we walked out we would've been out that money as they stated "NO REFUNDS" (I can see why now...) As we we were getting ready to leave he finally finished with his other "client". But here is the kicker, that "client" got up from the chair, went back to the restroom, and came out in an aapron and proceeded to cut someone else's hair. IT WAS AN EMPLOYEE. So he had paying customers sitting on the couch waiting well past the scheduled appointment time so that he could line up his buddy. That was completely unprofessional and honestly an insult. RED FLAG NUMBER 2 I UNFORTUNATLEY IGNORED. So we reluctantly stayed for the (prepaid) haircut. While he was cutting my husband's hair the barber was visibly distracted and talking to all of his buddies in the shop rather than paying attention to him. When he asked him what side he wanted to be lined up on my husband told him twice, he then proceeded to put a towel over his face so he couldn't see what was happening. Upon removing the towel my husband sees he is lined up on the WRONG SIDE. RED FLAG NUMBER 3! 3 strikes this is ridiculous. Once he noticed that, he felt like if this was being half-assed, what else was being over looked? So he asked him if he had used a new blade on him as he did not see him grab a new one. He said "Don't worry bro I got packs of these" I am hoping he was being honest but at this point I wouldn't put anything past this place. Needless to say, we will NEVER return to this barbershop, and buyer beware! Do not book an appointment ahead of time, that is how they guarantee they get paid regardless of the quality of the cut they give you. This whole place feels like a bunch of young people with no experience in professionalism or customer service. This is unfortunate because I pass by this place every single day as I am a local who lives close by, but I will have to find a place that takes their customers a little more seriously.

I was discouraged initially by the negative yelp review which states that the owner was a racist, but I thought I would judge for myself. He got me in right away, was very polite and professional, talkative, but not excessive or inappropriate in anyway. History buffs: this barbershop is loaded with the neatest pictures and news paper clippings showing American history and barbershop antiques. The barber is also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to history and trivia. Excellent and enjoyable experience, good price, stop in a see for yourself!
