Retired Barber 55 years behind the chair, and I went in for a nice short haircut as my hair has been growing out for 2 to 3 months because of a back injury. I think they're pretty professional. The shop looks clean while taken care of my Barber that cut my hair was very nice and well mannered he gave me a great haircut and I'm definitely going back again. Thanks again box State barbers. read more

This barber deserves only 2 stars simply because of the 2 decent haircuts my son and partner received. Other than that, the receptionist was very nice but everyone else was in their own world. Barbers randomly taking shots all together, my partner had a barber that took an alcoholic shot in the middle of cutting his hair. Meanwhile,I have my 3 year old son getting his first real barber experience 2 chairs down. I will never go back to this unprofessional place. To each their own but drinking on the job is a big no for my family and I . I'm very baffled how no review mentions this. My partner has been to this barber 2 times total, the second time we took our son and BOTH times there was alcoholic shots being taken by the barbers. Don't go to this barber shop unless you're fine with people drinking and working in public. read more

Took my 5yr old nephew here on a referral and was completely satisfied with the entire process! I'm a girl mom, know little about boy haircuts and entrusted Zay to cut my nephew's hair. I showed a quick pic but basically said "do whatever you think looks good lol". My nephew was so nervous because his dad had only ever been the one to cut his hair but Zay was kind & gentle. I would 100% recommend this shop and all of the guys seemed great but I will definitely be back to book with Zay when I have my nephew. 10/10. read more

Got to my appointment early with my little brother, back to back appointments with the same barber and when we got there, there was a walk in who was getting cut. Waiting 40 minutes into my appointment time to not even get cut. Force appointments On customers to not even oblige by them. Horrible system horrible customer service!! read more

Love George my grandson loves his hair cuts he's so patient with kids does great job comfortable environment

If I could give no stars I would... this place is filled with inexperienced kids. They have maybe 1 year of cutting hair under there belt.. asked the guy to go finger length on the top and my hair looked like mountain peaks. Everything was uneven all the way around. Also $45 for a haircut? Naw there are plenty of other places that do a way better job for half the price. read more

Steven is the guy to get a haircut from, he did an awesome job at cutting my hair. Highly recommend him and this barbershop, but some of them suck. Steven Vigil will make you want to come back again and again. read more

For the most part, majority of the barbers are very talented. However, some of them are very unprofessional. Idk if it is that they party too much on the weekends but multiple barbers have canceled my appointments the day of early in the morning on a weekend with little to no notice. To make matters worse they don't reschedule you a new appointment because they are booked out a week and sometimes two ahead of time. They show up late to appointments quite frequently as well. However, god forbid you miss an appointment with them or have a late cancel, they'll charge you anyways because their system requires a cc number. Unbelievable. read more

Catalina did a great job with my cut, fade and line up. She asked plenty of questions and made suggestions to make sure I left with exactly what I wanted. Box State is a good value and a great place to get groomed. I'll be back for sure. read more

So we had never been here before, but our son needed a cut. It was really neat how each of the barbers took their time and you can tell they really are trying to give each person a good experience. Typically we take our son to just anyone, but this time we decided to try something new. Our barber took his time and did his best. I was like wow, he did not butcher his hair, he made sure it looked great. He also kept talking to my husband about it, I really was there to just observe. I found this place to be very interesting and unique. I was most impressed with the vibe too, like it just reminded me of a hyped fun place to work. Overall we will be back! read more

Got cleaned up today by Deirdre, and I was pretty happy overall. It's always hard when you're traveling and have to take a chance on a place to cut your hair. She arrived just a couple minutes late, which did make the haircut run a little long (about 45 mins). However I also asked for a skin fade and those take time. But she gave me a military discount AND even took $5 off because the appointment started late, which I really appreciated it. I gave her the discount right back as a tip, thanks Deirdre. Everyone in the shop was friendly and made me feel welcome, I would go back if/when I'm passing through town again. read more

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! Went to Box State and got an ok cut. Made an appointment for a second men's cut. When I arrived on time for my appointment, there was someone in my barbers chair at the beginning of their cut. I figured that I would be next in the seat, since I had been waiting for 20 minutes into my appointment time. Unbelievably, my barber has the audacity to tell me to wait another 20 minutes so he can go run an errand! I am not going to wait 40 minutes or more in the lobby of a barbershop, then get my haircut when I have an APPOINTMENT. These guys clearly lack professionalism and common courtesy. An appointment is made to be timely, get you're act together Box State Elementary barbers. read more

Got cut by steven vigil. You know those haircuts where you realized you fucked up just by the feeling? This is one. The fade was okay but fucked my shit up on top. asked for 1 inch of the top and feel him chopping away and asked for a mid taper and pushes that shit up so high i look like a mushroom head now. This place is good just get it done by someone else read more

Easy to make an appointment online. We've never tried this place before. But, my boyfriend went in for a haircut to only get the sides trimmed and leave most of the length on top. Was asked how long he usually gets his sides , he told them a four. Then the barber proceeded to cut ALL of his hair to a four. He went in with very long hair and the barber was not very cautious to NOT cut it all off . Did not try to ask further questions, and just assumed his client wanted ALL of his hair cut off ? We've been to many barbers that have not done a good job, but they all ask MANY questions as to what the client wants regarding their haircut . I would assume many people don't really KNOW what they want when they get their haircut , and can be very shy . Regardless, I believe the barber , or stylist should ask many probing questions to help their clients know what to get and what not to get etc. , as they ARE the expert. Lastly, he decided it was fine , hair DOES grow back . But , after showering many of the hairs on his head were still 1-2 inches long AFTER a buzz ? The haircut was NOT what he wanted AND the hair wasn't even all the same length? No blending , no fade , nothing was asked other than "okay yeah let's buzz ALL of your long hair off one length " ?????? Edges around his neck and ears were done poorly , many hairs still very long . $26 dollars for a very low level of service , and an uneven haircut . Three starts to give the benefit of the doubt, and I'm sure if we went in they would've "fixed it" . but at this point there's nothing to fix because all of his hair was cut off . read more

Best shop in the Denver area period. Friendly and professional staff. Always a 5 star cut. Check them out, you won't regret it.

Never going here again , waste of my money and time , took an hour to get a terrible haircut with uneven sides , and nowhere near done how I wanted . I knew it would be bad the second she had to ask for another barbers help . read more
