I don't know the barbers name. He had dreads and wore sunglasses the whole time he was cutting my sons hair which is weird because how can you see what your doing ? Anyways not only did it take him almost 2 hours to cut my sons hair which was a regular comb over but he also nipped his eyebrow and took off almost half of his eyebrow than blamed my son to which my son is 9 years old. The line up was crooked and he blamed whoever cut his hair before that they did it crooked. Which we went to the same shop and it was his coworker that was there a (Mexican guy) honestly his coworker did a way better job and was faster. When I went to pay him he tried to pick up the clippers again ! I had enough paid him and took my son. Worst experience ever with any barber. read more

Walked in no notice and they took care of me. I hadn't had a haircut in 3 months so there was lots to remove. Great service and cut!

Papa is a rolling stone. I don't have a long term relationship with any particular barber or stylist. I used to have one, but then she suddenly left me without saying goodbye T_T. I don't want to get heartbroken again, so I drift from one casual encounter to the next. The weather is warming up and it's time to shed the winter coat, so I decided to clean the moptop a bit. It wasn't busy when I strolled in mid morning. Hearing music in the shop was nice, especially tracks like "I Can't Wait" by New Shooz or "Regulate" by Nate Dogg & Warren G. The first couple of chairs were occupied, but before I could get settled in an the waiting benches, antique church pews, I was motioned over to Jade's chair towards the back. Zero wait time FTW. She's a fairly new girl at the shop, but not entirely new to the biz; formerly from a chain hairstylist company. I put my faith in Jade's skills and let her go to work. She asked a couple of questions, but not a ton as I would expect for new clients. I usually get asked about details clarifying the clipper guard, cut length, general styling, sideburns, neckline, and finishing products. She got the gist of what I was looking for and I was happy with the result. $13+tip to get cleaned up nicely. Just a haircut. No fancy hairwashes or scalp massages here. Now, if only I could get a cold beer. I didn't know the store was cash only and luckily I had some bucks just for the bill, but I had to hit up an ATM and return to leave a proper gratuity. I'm a fan of Lemon Grove Barber Shop's location and vibe, but like in my opening paragraph, I'm constantly on the lookout for exceptional customer service to win over my fragile heart. read more

Always providing quality service, been here couple times already and I think this will be my go too spot only 10 minutes away from my place. Thank you read more

This review has nothing to do with the actual service or haircuts but unfortunately I will no longer be a customer of this establishment after many years. Waiting this morning for a hair cut I noticed on the wall a couple of posters supporting Trump. Everyone is entitled to their political views but it's bad business to plaster your political views in public. Unfortunately with such a politically divided society I imagine many customers would be offended. Once again after many years a customer I will no longer be a patron. Many more to choose from in the area. Good luck. read more

This review is from my husband as he doesn't have social media. I always get a great haircut from Martha. Ivan is always friendly and professional and welcoming to all. Best barber shop in Lemon Grove. read more

Really fun barbershop. Cool people, real kickback environment. I am a new customer, only been there 3 times so far. My favorite barber in LG retired/closed and I think I may have finally found Hahn's replacement. Always busy and lively. Give 'em a try. read more

I went here as a walk-in with my toddler. I was greeted immediately, shop has a cool vibe going on. As soon as we sat a gentlemen at the end of the line called us up. I showed him a pic of what I wanted and he got to work. He was very patient with my very sleepy toddler. Hair cut came out great. read more

Always a good cut at Lemon Grove Barber! Friendly staff and always a good talk and laugh. I personally go to Ivan and Victor AKA Sunshine. I have also gotten cuts from Milton and Jade and they both also do great jobs. But to be completely honest when I first started going to this barber shop I did not know anybody here however I have bonded with everybody here and have become very good friends with all the barbers and they are very nice and real people. I could not imagine going to another barber shop. Today I took my son there to get his first haircut from Ivan. I could not be more happier with this Barber shop again thank you Ivan and the staff. read more

THE ABSOLUTE BEST BARBERSHOP IN SAN DIEGO! PERIOD!!! These Barbers are Artists who take pride in their ARTISTRY. I have been to hundreds of Barbers and hands down this place is the best. IVAN (the owner) is never short of clients. WELL WORTH THE WAIT AND MONEY SPENT. Regulation Military Cuts are also available for Marines, Soldiers, Shipmates (All Service Members). read more

Took my boys here, super friendly people. Listened to how the boys wanted their haircut and they were able to do it without any problems even when my youngest was squirming around. It's beneficial to call ahead, sometimes the wait can be long. read more

The barbers there are nice and know what there doing. Great place with great people!!

Best barber shop in da hood. Always hooking me up with the soul glow juice. Never had a problem and always on time with appointments.

WORST customer service I ever have had in my entire existence. I got there around 5:00 after waiting in there for 1 hr because they were talking with some dude outside they finally decided to go in to finish 2 customers and then around 6:30 they told me that they are not going to cut my hair because they have to go. (The place closes at 7pm acording to their page). Just waste 2 hours at this location I coulded go somewhere else and get. Y haircut quick. These people need to learn good customer service maybe their cutting hair skills are excellent but with those manners im not coming again to this place and I will post this review in all my social network pages so my friends can know about this place. read more

Great barbershop well maintained and very courteous people. I had a great time happy by haircut there and would go again. Thanks a lot

The bastion of testosterone, as well as a pretty decent haircut... or in my case, a great shave.

The worst barbershop ever I waited nearly 1 1/2hr still waiting nearly everyone walked through the door went before me & I was told to continue waiting because they had appointments! U kidding me??? Why don't they tell us pple with appts ahead of us while we wait??? I could gone do sumthin & comeback at least!! The worst barber ever please look for else-where guys unless u wanna wait 1-3hrs max!!! I would give them -1star if Yelp allows it !!!! read more

Great place for mens hair cuts. Walkins welcome and fair prices. They sell hair products as well.

One of the better Barber shops in Lemon Grove. I'm not a fan of paying $15+ for a damn skin fade. I can't stand barbers who think they can charge people those prices. But anyway I have been going here for a couple years and only here. The barbers are friendly and it has the typical barber shop vibe. I prefer to get my haircut by either Ivan (the owner) or chette. Everyone else gets the job done those two are just the best. read more

I went here... Tried something new and regretted it! Got a decent cut and beard trim. But!!! It wasn't the cut I asked for... I said a light trim and clean up in the back and a trim on the beard. I said the front is longer than the back and I want the back to eventually get as long as the front and only a light trim off the front. M*f#r took a inch and a half off the front and made it the same length as the back! I had to correct him on my beard because when he trimmed it up, he made the right side thicker and higher than the left. When I corrected him on the beard, he tried to fix it and he angled my right side and curved the left side. I just said leave it... I fixed it when I got home. That was when I also noticed that the trim on my beard wasn't evenly cut and had spots that were longer in places and shorted in others. I couldn't tell till I took a shower and got the gel out my hair to be able to tell how short he cut the front of my hair. At this point I was not very happy. I did get a nice cut but it wasn't the cut I asked for. Can't say I'll go back. I won't get into how the price went up a couple bucks, from the moment I got out the chair and going to the front to pay. Also if you pay by credit card, they charge an additional dollar. Understandable. read more

So, I don't know what it is with today's business. The expectation that the customer owes them something and that the barber is actually doing the customer a favor by cutting his hair. Last time I checked, there are about 20+ barbers in several different shops within a 1 mile radius. I'm happy to spend my $15 +$5 gratuity somewhere else...somewhere else that greets a customer when he walks in, somewhere else that has a sign-in list so there is no confusion about who is next. Nothing is more disheartening than walking into a shop, not being acknowledged, waiting 30 minutes, only to find out that the one barber that was recommended to you by another patron was taking others ahead of you because he "had an appointment". It's called communication so that new customers aren't irritated by waiting 30 minutes. Just saying... read more

Cool cat barbers!! They all take appointments and walk ins, most convenient way to get a haircut or if you didn't know when you will have time just walk in. Decent prices for a good quality haircut. Sunshine is a great up and coming barber with skills at only 23 years old, made me switch my my old barber that cut my hair for 23 years. read more

Lots of people here complaining about not being catered to need to relax. These guys take their time to ensure you leave the store feeling good about your haircut. There is no worse feeling leaving a barber shop feeling like they just jacked your hair up. If you want that private forest grump cut then head to super cuts! If you would just spend 2 minutes a few days in advance and make a call for an appointment you will be taken care of appropriately. Every one of their barbers is skilled and can achieve what your looking for... I stumbled across the shop after buying a home in the area in 2010 and haven't been elsewhere since. read more

Do not go here if you get tapers and fades. These people can only cut white people hair. This guy that worked there took an hour on my hair and it looked like he didn't even do anything to my hair. On top of that he put some shit in my hair that smelled like hot dog water. I have seen Super Cuts give better hair cuts. Don't fuck with this place. read more

Yes. I am a female. Yes. I get my hair cut at a shop. I came in the first time for a hair rescue. I had another shop cut racing strips down my side cuts, i was devestated. Got fixed up proper and have been going here ever since. One of the best cuts in town, in one persons opinion. read more

We recently moved to the area and my husband likes to use barbers for getting his haircut. I found Lemon Grove Barber on yelp. We walked to the shop which has a good vibe. Ivan cut my husbands hair and did a great job! My husband is Navy and in the past I've hated how barbers have cut his hair but he'll definitely go back to this place! read more

I have been a loyal customer for 3 years now. Ivan has definitely mastered his profession. Best Barber I've seen in S.D. Ivan runs a tight ship and a traditionally busy shop. A true sign of how good they are is how busy they are, so yeah, they're good. As for the negative reviews, all I can say is don't believe the hype. read more

If you need to get the head hooked up, go see Ivan. Guaranteed to get you fresh to death and have you coming back every time you need a cut.

Bridget gives the BOMB cuts!! She's also has a good heart. My husband has a neurological illness that interferes with his cognitive abilities. I discreetly explained his situation to Bridget. She didn't miss a beat! Very gracious and kind and was able to give him the perfect cut. I also love the environment here. Every station has a laid back vibe, very friendly and easy to be around. Lots of laughs going on here. So hit up Bridget for a great cut. Don't forget that tip either! She works hard!! read more

My favorite barber shop in SD! Haircuts, tapers, edge ups etc. this is the spot to get 'em. Excellent service and great atmosphere.

Got a nice cut for a good price. Friendly atmosphere and some really neat vintage barbershop memorabilia. Open until 7pm.

I have changed so many barbers due to not getting what i wanted done to my hair. I finally found Lemon Grove Barbers and been going to this place for 2-3 years now. I have recommended over 10 people to come get their haircuts here. They are all amazing barbers, my guy Ivan is the best. I would never let anyone touch my hair other than him. Me friends and I drive all the way from Escondido to lemon grove to get our hair cuts here. I would defiantly recommend Ivan for any hair style, all you have to do is sit in his chair and he will do the rest. read more
