It's that time again...scheduled maintenance . Been coming here for years. Prior to going to Bruce for my hair care needs, I had a stylist I went to for 10+ years! Bruce did a better job and been going since. He always has the same closing,"good for a thousand miles...". Maybe he should change it up and throw in something like,"u got the cuts for the...". read more

I wanted to get a long overdue haircut and this place was close to where I was headed so I stopped by. Little did I know they were closing at almost the exact same time I walked up. I asked if they had time for one more and they said sure, come on in. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure I got the haircut I desperately needed. I just wanted things cleaned up and the kind lady did a fantastic job. Thank you! I'll be back. read more

Ever since getting his hair cut by Bruce, my son refuses to get it cut anywhere else. He loves the job Bruce does with his fade as well as his engaging personality. read more

Sal's Budget Barbers - Barbers Near Me - El Cajon, California

I am never ever going back there again! The two older ladies are DISGUSTINGLY HORRIBLE!!! I look like Simple Jack from Tropic Thunder. I am going on a birthday date tonight and she butchered the hell out of my head, you can see by the pics absolutely unacceptable! No tip, no justice, just a hat for the next month, so upset! I mean just look at the gash in the side of my head!!! Does that even look like a low fade! They can only cut senior citizens with no hair! Worthless! read more

Not the place to go to if you're looking to get a clean, even fade. I went one time to the elderly woman and asked for a medium skin fade. She proceeded to give me a very high skin fade and even started cutting some hair off the top. I decided to give it another shot and specifically mentioned a medium skin fade NOT a high skin fade. I was just as disappointed and will be looking for a different barber for my next haircut. read more

Horrible. Asked for an all around trim - in between cuts and the lady gave me a high and tight. Won't ever go back.

It was my first time going to sals barbershop and i will be going back .the man who cut my hair took his time and gave me great cut

Not bad, they've actually gotten better since the last time I was there. Super friendly and they take time detailing your hair.

Just went to this place for a trim. I asked the lady to just trim the sides and back. I'd been growing my hair out for almost a year because I finally left a military like job and was happy to finally be able to grow my hair out. It was just a little past my collar and the top was maybe 4-5 inches long. I left there looking like a boot camp marine!!!! I didn't even tell her to touch the top, but when I felt the clippers up there, I knew it was too late. I am thoroughly pissed!!!! Now I gotta start from scratch again. Probably explains why this places parking lot is always empty. You need to fire that older lady on the left. Sounds like from the reviews she jacked up quite a few haircuts! read more

Horrible place to go they cut my brothers hair and it wasnt even a fade. All uneven it looked HORRIBLE!Also the lady cut herself and bled all over my brother. I thought she cut him turns out it was her blood. It was empty for a reason. Never let the old ladys cut your hair they do not know what they are doing! Please do not come here waste of money! read more

After calling and driving to several place to find a babershop for my son. I stumbled upon Sals. I called to inquire about availability and prices. The lady was very sweet and welcoming. I got there with my son (4) and he was nervous but MR. Bruce was very welcoming and my son forgot her was getting a haircut. I'm glad we found a family wonder local barbershop. read more

Avoid this place. Older lady cant cut hair. Why you have people that cant do their job here.

Usually get what you pay for but the lady on the left most side does an atrocious job and should not be a barber. Jacked my hair up, clipped all the way up when i asked for a medium height, crooked with no real sign of a clean fade including jagged lines and different levels hair length, crooked line up when i never asked for one. Seriously there's a reason this place is always empty. bummed since price was so cheap, too good to be true read more

Sal's is a popular local barber chain and I've been to several of their locations over the years but only tried this one a couple of months ago - and now think I like it more than the other locations for getting a quick basic haircut at a low price. read more

Bruce... Bruce has been my (and most of R.S. Diego's) Barber for the past nine years. So it was a very sad day when I had to tell him last month I was moving out of the state. I'm sure it's tough for women to change hairdressers, but it's brutal for men because of the frequency and bonds we develop while getting dappered up. An extraordinary gentleman who goes out of his way to get you the cut and look you're going for, I could always count on Bruce. I've spent hours with Bruce talking about life, S.D. culture, triathlons, all while getting a quick, clean and very well done haircut. Knows people by name, always smiles and waves when you walk by, great with kids, I cannot recommend this barber enough. He is one of a kind. read more

Terrible, the lady was in a rush to attend a friend of hers & did a very poor job. I usually go to the Sal's shop in lemon grove but since this one was close to me I decided to go. Very bad experience, recommend you to go somewhere else. read more

Bruce is great! So thankful I was able to find this place. Price is affordable & they do a great job every time!

Been coming here since 1999. There is never a wait and $9 for a haircut is a steal. Big fan, come support a local business.

Sal's is great. I go from having very long hair past my shoulders to having no hair at all. Sal's always listens to what I want and they make it look good. They are perfectly affordable ($8 for beard and trim? they do it right!, where else can you find this quality and pricing these days?) They are cash only but cannot be beat. Will be back here for all of my grooming needs! read more

Good haircut for the price. Friendly staff and very economical. Never busy. Very clean. Have been going there for years.
