Update: 6/16/21 Up until the pandemic, I continued to take my 3 boys to this barber shop since my first review. Every time I came away happy with the service and results. They updated the shop in 2019 and now have one of those cute car chairs for kids and an atm in the shop if you forget to grab cash on your way there. I would highly recommend this barber to anyone needing a good men's cut. I only stopped going because of the pandemic & now we've moved out of the county. But if we were in town and my boys or husband needed a hair cut, this is where I would go. read more

I checked out this spot a few months ago and now come in regularly. Both Sam and Allen give detailed quality cuts. Plus the vibe and energy for a reasonable price. I would def recommend them for their great customer service. read more

They give good haircuts but don't follow first come first serve business protocol, why have a list if you don't follow it, went in to get haircut waited 1hour just so they can by pass me to get a person cut me in line, then again afterwards when a friend of theirs came to get haircut. It's ridiculous! I like their haircuts but they're not the only barbers in town, they just lost good loyal customer. read more

Recently moved to the area and needed a fresh cut for a major event (wedding) I explained to Sam it was my first time there and needed this cut to be extra clean since I am the best man of the wedding. He assured me he would take care of me after I showed him a few photos of my prior cuts of what I was looking for. I left my fate in his hands as most of us to and prayed for the best. He started with the fade which turned out to be pretty decent. He then proceeded to cut the top and it was all downhill from there. Granted I did have gel in my hair which he could of wet my hair to truly get an even cut. He chopped off way more than I expected and asked me after one pass from front to back saying "this is how much I cut off" little too late at that point I was already committed so I just hung on for the ride. Once I got home and showered I saw the true outcome of the haircut. One side was done well as expected but the other side was choppy and had lots of long strains which I will then have to go to another shop to fix. When Sam asked me how I found out about his shop I said yelp so I would be remiss if I did not write an honest review. Price was $20 for a basic fade +$5 tip. Maybe he was having an off day, but thanks to that I will be having an off week. I will definitely not be coming back to this place. read more

Angel's Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Spring Valley, California

I was a loyal customer here, they only accept walk ins and what did it for me is that they couldn't respect me as customer, I came in signed in the waiting sheet waited for like 30 min and ended up leaving like 2 min away to drop off my wife at the house and I told them I would be right back while they were still cutting other people, I was already on my way back from a two min drive when I received a call saying I was next and I told them I would be there in one minute and guy said he would wait for me, when I got there he had already passed someone else and told me to wait more time, that really pissed me off knowing that I always wait for them up to 45 min to get a cut and he couldn't wait 1 min for me, that just told me they don't appreciate their customers and loyalty so never came back read more

I took my boys (5&3) here for much needed haircuts. So pleased with the experience! They were wonderful with the kids (even my youngest who has difficulty sitting still). Their cuts turned out amazing and I am so happy to have found a place I love for them. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Angel's Barber Shop - Fresh cuts! - Barbers Near Me - Spring Valley, California

Today was my first time visiting Angel's barber shop. And let me just say that the customer service was phenomenal! I messaged the shop through their Yelp page because I wanted to make an appointment. They also take walk-ins by the way. Sam, the owner replied to me within minutes and accepted my request. When I arrived to the shop, one of the barbers greeted me with a smile and sat me right away! I then explained to him what style I wanted my hair cut and without any hesitation, he executed with great precision! I was very pleased with his work and dedication, especially his attention to detail! The name "Allen" was embroided on his shirt, so that helped me remember who to give the credit to for his awesome service! I was left very happy and satisfied! I'm definitely coming back for more haircuts in the future. Thank you! read more

Took my son here and they completely messed his hair up, didn't even line his hair up and to top it off barley spoke English. I definitely wouldn't recommend going here read more

Came by today with my 4 year-old son for a cut. This was my first time coming here as we needed a last minute cut. Sam cut my hair while the other guy (did not get his name) cut my son's. My sons hair turned out great and that had to be one of the best cuts he's had! As far as mine, Sam did a great job as well and was very meticulous and interested in what I wanted ( even though I'm not that specific). I actually want to come back and have him do other fades/cuts as I feel like he'd know better what works best. Will def be coming back. Great guys running a legit barber shop! read more

This is the worst place to cut your hair I took my kid for a hair cut they told me it was gonna be $25. When they finish cutting the hair which they did a horrible job they charge me $30 instead of $25 I believe he was tipping himself $5 I don't recommend this place at all worst Custer service I think the barber that cut my kid hair is not even licensed I couldn't even understand his English read more

This place never opens up on time, hair cuts are mid, but they are nice people so that's a good thing.

my boyfriend went here a couple weeks ago with long-ish curly hair that he has worked really hard to take care of and it means a lot to him. his hair was very well taken care of and he just needed a trim. The barber shop he usually goes to was closed so he ended up here and left with a HORRIBLE haircut that left his hair with lots of breakage and he looks like he's balding in the back because the person who did his hair cut so much from the back that his curls look sad in the back and it just does not look right... he has to now wait MONTHS maybe even a year or more till it grows back and it's shattered his confidence. he paid $45 for a haircut that he despises everyday. he said he told the barber how to handle his curly hair and the man proceeded to NOT listen to his requests and fucked him up. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Went to Angel's last week on a recommendation. Glad I did. Sam, who I believe is the owner, cut my hair. He did a great job. Listened to what I wanted and took time to sweat the small details. Very happy. No experience with the other barbers in the shop, so can't comment on them. read more

I've been visiting town for a few weeks, and needed to find a place to get a nice STRAIGHT RAZOR SHAVE on both my face and head. I normally shave myself every couple days, but once in awhile it's really nice to have a Pro do it!! Well...Sam was a Pro for sure!! I got there a little before they were going to close up for the day, but he got me in the chair right away, and for to work!! NOT RUSHED!! And a very good job!! No nicks, cuts, or scrapes...but just a clean close shave!! His razor was SHARP! Which isn't always the case, and his technique was very good!! If you're looking for a shave, give them a try!! read more

Got my haircut by Sam who was working on a day he said they were generally closed so kudos for that already. On top of that it was the best spur of the moment haircut I've received in San Diego since I moved out here about 8 months ago. Sam took his time and made sure everything was done right even with more and more clients piling in. Shout out to Sam for the clean cut, awesome customer service, and just being about his money not rushing to leave. read more

I have gone to this barbershop for the last 15 years of my life for quality haircuts with a man named Sam, I met the young man when he was 23, he is now in his mid thirties. When I first came to Angels he was just an up and coming barber now owner of the shop today. The man is so skilled and friendly that many come from all parts of San Diego to visit his humble shop for good reason; the man never fails to make you look great, he has such a passion for his craft that he makes you look as sharp as the sheers he holds. His shop may be busy now and then but it just goes to show the quality of his passion and the quality of his heart. read more

Got a haircut from a tattooed gentleman who was very aggressive with the haircut. I knew something was off with him when he asked me what I wanted on my haircut and I guess it wasn't a sufficient answer and his tone changed drastically. He came off as very rude, told me to take off my glasses like a command and proceeded to cut my hair extremely fast, resulting in him scratching my face with the brush. This is my third time here and hadn't had any problems until this. And then my haircut was $25 instead of the usual $20. I just got a very unfriendly and uncomfortable vibe when I was getting my cut, almost like he didn't care about his job. Very unprofessional, might consider not even coming back because of him. read more

I love this place! I love their staff they are great. I also get the $25 price tag on the cut. What made me disappointed is that they literally charged me $25 for my 4 year old son. I had no idea children and toddlers had to pay the same as an adult. Will definitely be looking for a place where I can take my son since I believe paying $25 for basic children's haircut is too much. Other than that it's a cool place to get your cut great staff. Allen gets down. read more

Great service!! Was greeted at the door and help immediately. Very professional and good atmosphere for conversation gives you a nice feel of an old school barber shop. Would get my haircut again here if given the opportunity. read more

Ever got a recommendation from a friend for a good barbershop but they tell you to avoid a certain barber chair because they don't give that "clean" haircut. Well this is NOT the case in this barbershop. Every barber in this shop does an outstanding work on all their haircuts!! You can sit on any chair and you will walk out of that shop feeling like a million bucks! I recommend this barbershop to anyone!
