I just had the rudest encounter with the owner of this establishment. She stopped me as I was getting out of my car, put her hands on my shirt, and told me I could not park there. Then when I told her I was just picking something up, she started yelling at me, telling me to hurry up. She's Korean. So am I. I have no respect for this woman, as this is not the first time it has happened. I will not recommend any family or friends for services at this location. Especially my military friends. Go somewhere more PLEASANT. read more

I highly do not recommend. The lady was very rude and rushed the whole process, not giving me the haircut I wanted. I called in and asked what time they closed and the lady who picked up told me they closed at 6:30pm. I was 30 minutes away and told her that I was going to arrive at 6:15pm asking if it was still ok to come in, accepting the fact that she might say no. However, the lady still told me it was ok for me to come in. I come in and this middle aged lady with curly hair and glasses (didn't get her name) was immediately rude to me complaining that I came at 6:15. She also made rude comments about my hair and how she hated cutting my type of hair because it was black. She said all of this in Korean thinking I wouldn't understand, but little did she know I was Korean and understood her perfectly. But I decided to let it slide. I also decided to give her a tip for being late as my sign of appreciation. Immediately regretted it. She then rudely asked me what kind of haircut I wanted. I explained to her I wanted a combover and when I tried to explain the details she interrupted me saying she got it and she just started chopping away. She was pretty confident in her technique so I thought I was in good hands, but when I saw the end product, she chopped off more than what I told her and didn't blend my sides . (I asked her to have the top portion a 3 and the bottom a 2 and blend it). The lady proceeded to say that it was my head shape. I've asked for the same measurements at other barbers and they blended it well. This was the first time I've seen the measurements not blended, but she still wouldn't do anything about it. In the middle of the cut, the lady was complaining how complex my hair was and how she had to see someone to deliver Kim chi and told me about how they close at 6:30pm. Well, my experience with this lady was not all terrible, her face brightened up when I told her I didn't want my hair gelled. That was honestly the first and only time I saw a genuine smile on her face. If you really did not want to cut my hair, you could've simply said no on the phone and I wouldn't be writing this review. Very clean facility and talented staff. We went after dinner on a weekday and didn't have to wait long to be seen. They can do an Army cut with precision and style while respecting the requirements. They are very affordable as well which. Oh lease tip them well when you go here, they deserve it! read more

Been coming here for quite a while now, All of the ladies especially Chong is amazing. It's never too busy and you are always treated with respect. The prices can't be any better and the quality of the cuts are what make me stay. I'm a mixed guy, with curly hair and a difficult natural hairline. Before Chong and the shop, other barbers were turning my forehead into a movie projector and I would leave looking like Mr.Jefferson. I've seen them do cuts on a variety of people, young, old and every race available and everyone has left happy and looking sharp. They're perfect for any military cuts and are nice with the specialty cuts. I guess my only negative is if you want you hair done in a very specific way they can DEFINITELY do it. You just need to describe to them exactly what you want because if not they're going to give you the best version of exactly what you ask for. read more

I'm a senior, moved to lacey 2007 for retirement, went looking for a place calling out a discount for seniors and military. Tried 2 other shops but was not happy with the haircut. 3rd attempt I found Barber Express, my search halted and I've looked no further lo these last 12 years. You get a hello when you walk in but generally no conversation, you get a neck/back rub at the end of varying quality, the hot towel on the neck is gone. The place is spotless, I will give them that. I have been going here maybe 5 years, not because they are very good, but because all of the other places I have tried have been worse. Be warned, they really want you to pay with cash. read more

I take my hat off to the ladies at Barber Express. Nowhere else can I find such consistency with my haircuts, and they get it just the way I like it every time. People often have trouble with all the cowlicks I've got in my hair, but once these ladies work they're magic they never fail to impress. They're very friendly, and they'll give you a complimentary neck massage, shoulder rub, and even clean up your neck with rubbing alcohol pads. They've got a great routine, and a clean establishment. I brought my little brother for a haircut i showed the lady to just trim his bangs abt say 2cm but the lady decide to take 2inches off instead. They should really listen to there customers instead of making there own choices. He grew out his hair for that spiky look. Now he cant even spike it. I went in on a Sunday there were a few other people in there. I had to wait about 20 to 30 min for a cut, and it was just that not very good at all looks like they put a bowl on my head and cut it. I noticed that it was not going too well with the lady that was cutting my hair because the owner I'm assuming or the more experienced one came over to give my lady pointers as well as 2 of the other women. I would not recommend going here. On sundays they take cash only apparently they turn their CC machine off on Sundays. read more

I went here with my kids until one of the employees was pretty rude. The front door has a visa and mastercard logo on it so I assumed that they accept the cards. I visited this business several times and paid with card as well. On the last occasion I paid for two haircuts (for both my children) with my visa card. When I pulled out my card the lady rudely asked why I was paying with my card and stated that it costs her too much money when people use the card. This was stated rudely and she followed up with a disgruntled face, even after I apologized (why did I?). Needless to say, I will never go here again, even if the haircuts were decent. read more
