They also are the only person in the space besides me and are willing to mask upon request, so it's still a COVID-safe option in 2025. Hooray for disability justice! Her knowledge of massage technique, genuine concern for the well being of her client, and friendly demeanor will keep me coming back. As a 21 year veteran of the Marine Corps & Army, I have battled arthritis in many areas of my body. About one year ago the pain became intolerable. Then one day, while getting my hair cut at The Refined Man, Shawna recommended I try a session with their massage therapist, Chantel. I made the appointment and it was a game changer! Chantel introduced me to techniques like hot stone and cupping, which I previously dismissed as ineffective. But, in Chantel's hands those techniques finally make sense and are now a regular part of my therapeutic regime. She is genuinely concerned with helping me reduce pain, increase mobility, and improving my quality of life. Chantel is the best massage therapist I have encountered. I have been a dedicated Refined Man customer for over a year now. After my long-time barber decided to retire, I tried over four different barbers in the greater Olympia area. One or two of them were OK, but there was always a trade-off between reliability and quality of service. Sometimes I could get an appointment, sometimes I couldn't; sometimes the haircut was exactly what I wanted sometimes it wasn't. I finally decided to spend a few extra dollars and give the Refined Man a try. Quite possibly one of the best personal care decisions I've made in many years! The quality and reliability of the service is exceptional. The atmosphere is just so relaxing, the attention to detail is truly unprecedented-IMHO-and scheduling is a breeze. While I have a favorite stylist -Danielle -all of the team members are equally skilled. The typical cut includes a shampoo and application of very well-selected products, and I've never had to remind Danielle of my particulars. I visit Refined Man every 2 weeks and it is my favorite way to start the weekend! This is the place! read more

First haircut post-military and the service, atmosphere, and level of detail is phenomenal. I booked an appointment easily on the store website. Walked in a few minutes early to check-in and was immediately received by Shawna. She was patient and professional with providing wonderful suggestions and ideas on a look I hadn't even decided on before arriving. I felt welcomed, comfortable, and safe in trying a new barber in a new place. One thing to note, she doesn't miss any details and that is rare, I found that to be the best thing about my visit. Aside from that, I was ecstatic about my new fresh cut and look! I even felt better about myself with a little extra pep in my step when paying. (Giving a literal spin on "The Refined Man") I highly recommend any guy looking for a professional cut, to get it done here...time now. I used to really like coming here. That is, until Shawna figured out that I'm trans. All of of a sudden she was doing things to elongate my neck, wasn't cutting my hair line as sharp, and she even claimed there was a 'line' that necessitated fading my sideburns, even though I've been getting the exact same haircut for nearly a year and this 'line' was *never* mentioned before. I've been going to Jaime for nearly 4 years. I only go to her because she's been fantastic and she's never done my hair wrong. She's also become a great friend to not only myself but my wife as well and we always have great talks and while I highly recommend Jaime for her hair cutting abilities.
