My hair cut left holes, dips and a total lack of balance. Lots of bucks for that? Won't be back

I'm writing on behalf of my boyfriend's experience here. I bought him a gift card for a haircut and beard trim. Not only was he unhappy with the service and quality of his haircut and beard trim, but when it came time to use the gift certificate they accused him of trying to use a fake one. They couldn't find their own record of when they sold me this gift card which was not cheap, but then accused him of trying to use a fake gift card. I'm not sure why he was treated so poorly, but this is very disappointing. We will not be returning. read more

After growing my hair out for several months, I told my wife she could do whatever she wanted with it. She brought me here and the experience was fun. A beer beard trim and hair cut, warm towel. The barber was really good. I'm bad at names and forget hers but she was good and good conversation. And my wife loved the work she did. I'd recommend this place. read more

The service here is remarkable. The attention to what you want as a trim etc. is beyond anything I have found locally. From the offer of a "cold one" when you walk in to the extensive list of service they offer and the quality of professionalism mixed with the feeling of knowing them for years brings you back. The vibe of old wooden floors and smells ingulf your every sense. Danielle is who I use and beyond happy with her, but anyone in there will take care of you. Don't forget your products as you walk out the door!! Bring your hair, bring your beard, and walk out feeling like a truly "Refined Man"!!!! Hands down my only place to get cleaned up!! read more

Tried to make appointments 3 times, But all I get from them is to reschedule when I made an appointment. Not going to be using them in the future. I even went down in person, and they told me to go to Centralia or Chehalis, That's not going to happen. I live in Lacey and don't want to travel 45 minutes for a Haircut and beard trim, maybe for a get in appointment. read more

I've been here a few times. The first time who I was with refused to cut my hair since I selected the wrong option online.... Went back again and this time the barber did what I wanted, even though it wasn't what I selected online. Her name was Francesca and she's who I recommend here. If it wasn't for the First Lady I'd give this 5 stars. read more

Legit haircut service, a bit on the pricy side... so have a comp beer and enjoy. Not accessible so plan ahead

Finally I can get my hair cut in Olympia! I've been driving to Tacoma for a cut! Danielle has been doing a great job with my hair. My haircutting needs are pretty straightforward but they seem to do a lot with facial hair and more interesting haircuts. The shop has a relaxed atmosphere and a friendly receptionist to keep things well-organized with appointments. I appreciate the reminder email and phone call so I don't forget about the appointment. No doubt the price is higher than average for the Olympia area but you get what you pay for! read more

What a great experience! The folks at the Refined Man offer, a chill atmosphere, great cuts, and a listening ear for what you want. I've been frequenting this spot for over a year now, and I cannot say I've had anything less than stellar experiences every time. Highly recommend. read more

my husband goes to see Tyler all the time. Tyler's very friendly and he's great at his craft!

Debbie gots mad skills! I sent in a half man/half big foot and she sent back a refined man. He has a bazillion colics, thick hair and a ton of it. A bit pricey compared to other places, but SO WORTH IT. I've never seen his hair look so good. Big thank you for helping tame that hair and showing off his handsome attributes. read more

Dees NUTZ great name I got a haircut from here and the barber is great great place to get a haircut I recommend

When my husband told me he had the absolute best massage where he goes to get his hair cut, I was skeptical. So, he signed me up for a Swedish massage and I am absolutely hooked. Chantel Todd exceeded my expectations. She uses just the right amount of pressure, I don't have to explain where my issues are, she seems to carry a crystal ball because each time I leave I no longer feel tight shoulders and neck. My lower back feels loose and I can move better than I did when I walked in. I have had A LOT of massages from multiple places, I can honestly say Chantel is the best massage I have ever received. I cannot recommend her more. She has really helped my body unwind itself from the strains/abuse I inflict on it daily. read more

The Refined Man - July 29, 2019 Another AWESOME cut by Ms. Shawna! - Barbers Near Me - Olympia, Washington

Took my 14 year old son to see Shawna. He's particular about his hair. He's also quite introverted when around new folks, so it's hard to get an idea about what he wants. She was able to draw out of him a style, and showed him the areas she would be refining, in order to get him the shape he was after. She even took some time to share some styling tips with him and did a straight razor on his neck. I sat, watching this bad ass woman wield her sheers around my boy, surrounded by barnwood and whiskey bottles, (general ambiance of manhood). I got this glimpse of my kid, who I remember kicking his heels on the booster. Now, wide necked and feet on the floor, he's looking in the mirror and seeing this new definition of manhood appearing right before his eyes. He was liking what he was seeing, and so was I. Held back the mom tears to avoid embarrassment. She's great at what she does, and I would like to counter the other negative reviews. Shoulda worked it out, like a man, and let her correct the issue, not whine online. Style is subjective and she's masterful at her craft. Disregard the bitching. Go see Shawna if you're a mans man. This is your spot. We will be back. read more

I think this is probably my first time in a men's saloon. This was truly a great experience. The place is neat and the products used are top notch. Each barber has their completely set up own room for customer privacy. I was serviced by Danielle, officially my new babe we lol. It's a bit on the pricey side but you pay for what you get. I would definitely recommend it if not as a permanent barber, then go at least once for the experience. read more

I just got a massage from Gail at the Refined Man and I thought massages were a luxury but today, she changed that mindset. It's a necessity. She elevated every aspect from the simple detail of asking what relaxing music I enjoy during my massage to asking what areas need more focus and executing that effortlessly, which really made me really appreciate the whole experience. The hot stones and her unmatched cupping technique made me melt. Don't hesitate on this experience. read more

I've been seeing Devi for a few years now. And have also seen the the owner Shawna. Hands down the best place for straight razor shaves, and killer cuts. Leave the kids with mom or the in-laws. And get yourself a appointment! read more

They are not always available they do not contact you ahead of time to remind you of your appointment like they say they do and the haircut is mediocre at best for someone with only 5 years of experience. P.S. never broad cast that your inexperienced...and it shows! read more

Thin, straight, blond hair is not easy to cut. Tyler tells me every time, but every time it comes out perfect. He is probably one of the most meticulous barbers I have seen, and when your hair is particular you want that. I would highly recommend Tyler or anyone in this shop with cutting your hair, they also do tons of other sweet things too. Straight shaves, nose hair plucks, shampoo, hot towel-stop reading this and just book an appointment. You will not be disappointed. read more

Excellent service. Best haircut in town and I love getting a straight razor shave and beard trim. Treat yourself!

First and last experience here. They advertise a men's tailored haircut for $55 that includes a consultation, shampoo with hot towel, hot straight razor neck shave and aftershave balm. The ONLY thing I received was the consultation, which is a fancy way of saying, "how you want your hair cut?" You know, the same thing that happens at literally any other barber shop. Every single other portion of this was skipped...just didn't happen at all. No shampoo, hot towel, neck shave, or aftershave balm. I will say, the staff is very nice and the shop itself had a very cool vibe, but I'm absolutely not returning. Had I received the service I paid for, I would say it's a decent way to treat yourself on occasion. But for $55 I left with an average haircut and NONE of what's advertised besides the haircut itself. To the business: please don't reach out, here or otherwise. I'm not interested in a refund, another haircut or anything...I just wanted to provide my honest feedback and experience. read more

Went in on Saturday 4/15/23. I bought a straight razor shave for my man for his birthday. I thought it would be a nice experience for the man who has everything. Needless to say we both left disappointed in the shave and service he received. Don't get me wrong, the establishment itself is great but the service he received was subpar to say the least. Firstly he started out 20 minutes later than his reserved time as the barber had another client in the chair when we arrived. When he was finally called back the barber never spoke a word to him the entire time. No explanation as to what he was doing or the products he was using. Dead silence. When he was done and came back to the front to check out I looked at him and was surprised to see stubble on his freshly shaven face. It looked like he had 5 o'clock shadow!! He could have done a better job at home with a disposable razor. We left disappointed and realized that some establishments cater to certain ethnicities. Maybe not everyone here is this way, I am only commenting on this barber in particular. Although we'd like to believe this was not about race or skin color it was evident and made it for a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience. 10/10 would not recommend if you're a man of color. read more
