Came here for the first time, I had not have piercing for over 10 years, and wanted some on my ear cartilage. I walked in with no appointment on a Sunday around noon-ish. First impression, I like their arts and jewelry. Greeted by front desk girl Lauren, she was patience with me and polite. Lauren gave me a quote and gave me throughout explanation of the price breakdown. Derek was great too, he was my piercer. He was humorous, lighthearted and professional. I got 3 piercing in one go, and I liked how the hoops looked and decided to go one more hoop on the spot. Derek was easy going and gave me one more, and made sure I left happy, and I did. The process took seconds. Thank you Barbella. read more

they also had the audacity to charge us a $20 late fee EVEN THOUGH we made it on-time! If I could leave no stars I would! d! read more

I randomly called this location, and spoke to Derek who answered all my questions and made me feel super comfortable. Because he was so thorough, I ended up walking in that same afternoon for a new piercing! I will be back for more, but really appreciated his professionalism, and how pleasant he made my whole experience! Ariel at the front desk was super sweet, and patient with me as well. Thank you both so much! read more

Absolutely amazing experience! The pricing at this studio is extremely fair priced. Quality jewelry and a super clean studio, with very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional staff. Stephen was my piercer and made me super comfortable throughout the entire process. One of the best piercing experiences I had. I'll definitely be coming here from now on for all my next piercings. I gotta admit, I was a bit nervous since this was my first piercing, but I could not be more happy with everything. Tanner helped me find some great jewelry that really fit with my look and was very patient, kind, and helpful while I was taking (way too much) time deciding. Derek was my piercer and he was so welcoming and friendly! He made me feel at ease and walked me through the process, making sure I was completely satisfied with the placement/look. All in all, the people here are wonderful and the best at what they do. My piercings are healing great about two weeks in. I'll be coming back for more piercings here in the future! read more

Stopped into Barbella today to get a rook piercing. This was my first time at Barbella as well as my first cartilage ear piercing. Before deciding to get my rook pierced I did some research and I had repeatedly read how painful it can be. However that was not at all my experience! Stephen was my piercer and he was extremely professional and experienced. The entire process took no time at all and the piercing itself did not hurt; just a quick pinch and it was over. I am interested in getting more piercings in the future and will definitely be heading back to Barbella. Highly recommend! read more

I first came to Barbella about 10 years ago. Stephen has pierced my lobes and daithe. Derek has switched out my jewelry, pierced my rook, and most recently pierced my septum. I trust all the staff here so much. They keep their entire space squeaky clean and follow all safety protocols. I always feel welcome here. Everyone is super knowledgeable about jewelry, friendly, inviting, all around good people with excellent taste in music. read more

This is undoubtedly the best piercing studio in all of OC. I have gone to barbella for the past 7 years, and have always had an awesome time here, no matter who is helping me out. I have had most of my piercings done by Stephen, who is AWESOME, extremely helpful and knowledgeable on everything piercing related. Barbella is always there to help out no matter the occasion- whether it be adding new piercings to the family or piercing related emergencies. Prices are fair & jewelry is cute. Truly the best studio ever. read more

Visiting Huntington Beach on vacation and needed a little maintenance on my daughter's two-week old lob piercing, the post fell out. Cat did a great job putting in the new post even though it had been about a day and half since the old one fell out. Was skeptical about finding a good piercing place while on vacation. Yelp reviews so helpful. Highly recommend Barbella Studios! read more

Brought my daughter to get her septum pierced. Great experience from beginning to end, really friendly staff. Cat was awesome, we'll be coming again soon. read more

I've been to several different piercers in OC & this is the best!! I've gotten 10+ piercings here (helixes, flats, rook, conch, stacked lobes, nostril). Everyone is amazing, Derek is hilarious & always makes me feel at ease when I'm getting poked & Cat is SUCH an expert on absolutely all things piercing & healing. Have referred several friends here & they have all had great experiences too. Love the jewelry selection as well!! read more

Barbella is the best! I have gotten my helix, septum and nostril pierced here and had a great experience every time! Ariel was sooo kind and helpful while helping me pick out my jewelry. Cat also ensured I felt comfortable while getting pierced and did such an amazing job! I will definitely be back! read more

Got my daith pierced as a walk in. Great experience, quick service. I don't have a lot of piercings but pricing seemed reasonable. Clean and professional. read more

I can not thank the team at Barbella enough for their professionalism, attention to detail, warmth, knowledge and talent. Ariel was incredibly helpful answering ALL my questions and Cat made my kiddo feel totally at ease and made piercing a breeze. I am so glad I didnt fall prey to ll the judgers who thought it was over the top to get lobes pierced at a piercing studio for 3 times the price as Claire's etc. I can assure you the value is there. The time spent with the piercer whose attentiveness to my kiddo's feelings, my reservations, and hygiene was well worth it and far better value add. If you are waffling about doing lobe piercing by needle vs gun, it is an easy choice if you come here. read more

Derek was great. y wife & I went recently to get matching hoops for our anniversary (installation). Great local Best Ever shop. Been to the one in Tempe, AZ, too. The only thing annoying was due to COVID we could not enter at the same time. I paid for two $5 reservations. One for 11am when they opened. Another at 11:30am. We wanted to pick out matching jewelry. Probably would've bought better jewelry if we could've been in together to pick out better. Went super simple, since we couldn't talk while looking at the options. I get it. They want to be safe. I get that. Derek was cool. read more

I came in today to get a second piercing on my lobe and had such a great time. Cat did a great job with placement and went into detail about aftercare. She helped me feel calm and relaxed by doing some breathing exercises. This was my first time getting piercings done with a needle and it was a great first time experience. They were extra clean and thorough. Love this place would go back again. Thank you cat :) read more

Barbella Studios - double lobe piercing - Piercing Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

$200 dollars for ear piercing is pricey. And the wait was over an hour. But had a decent experience

I had the best experience at Barbella. Stephen was my piercer and he was so informative and professional while making me feel comfortable and relaxed. Their Covid regulations are pristine and I felt so safe in there. Truly appreciate the team's diligence to making it a great experience. Will definitely recommend to my friends and come back here for my next! read more

I went to go browse their jewelry selection, and even though they were open, the door was locked. A girl with a horrible attitude proceeded to come open the door and asked if I had an appointment- I said no and that I just wanted to look at the jewelry. She had a face mask on, and told me that before I come in she was going to get a mask for me; I declined and told her to forget it. Super disappointed with the whole experience here. I choose not to wear a mask, just like some choose to still wear one. I will not support any business that takes away freedom of choice. read more

Just went in for a simple VCH jewelry swap out. And had the best experience with Kat, she was very informative about what she was doing and why and made the experience very comfortable. I've been in here 4 times now and walked out each time because the people are so rude. Not sure what the deal is but I always go in thinking it will be fine and then leave wanting to give my business to someone else. I feel like everything is a crazy upsell based on the customers ignorance. Go somewhere else :) read more

I had a septum piercing for a few years that I absolutely loved, but had to remove for some reason I cannot recall, and for some reason the hole partially closed once I tried to insert my jewelry. I had passed this place several times and thought it had outrageously great personality, so I called to make an appointment for the next day. Steven (Stephen??) dude with the amazing style - was my piercer. We decided to attempt to reinsert new jewelry as maybe his deft hands could work magic mine could not. After several attempts we decided to go ahead and pierce it again - once it was done it was crooked as hell - but this master told me to hold off on judgement and to allow the swelling to go down (trying to insert a new piece first had caused the swelling) he was absolutely on point. This new piercing calmed down within 24 hours and felt better with far better placement than my previous piercing. The old one I could feel rub against cartilage and this one never hurt or bothered me once. It healed fast and never hurt once. If you're thinking of being pierced I'd recommend this place time and again - they're not as$holes with egos like other places, and they know their stuff. read more

I got my nostril and lip pierced yesterday with Cat and had an amazing experience! They made me feel very comfortable and at ease, and I really appreciated that they prioritized health and told me I didn't have the anatomy for the eyebrow piercing that I initially wanted. The first time I came in here I was greeted by a rad girl very sweet and helpful (even helped me pick out my jewelry). However, there was another girl in the front desk sort of a knock-off Skrillex, she was rude and had an f-off face the whole time. As for the work, Stephen is awesome! His skills speaks for itself. This dude is a cool cat, made me feel comfortable from the get go. He quickly switched out my daith piercing a couple weeks back/ resized my forward helix. The shop is nice and clean. They also have cool music. Fast forward to today. I came in for a basic question while talking on the phone. Not even a minute passed and the gremlin turned and was giving me all her suppressed anger & attitude. I had just taken my friend off speaker, like chill out! I even ended up hanging up. She then kept saying how I was distracting, yada yada yada that I was being rude. Before she was able to hand me a samurai sword for the grave mistake I had made, the sweet girl stepped in to my rescue! She helped me with all my question and I left. **I revved my car on my way out so X-employee can see what a real distraction sounds like.** read more

If Barbella ever published a "How to conduct business safely during Covid-times" It would be a Best Seller. As a customer, I must say how impressed I was at their protocol having stepped through it myself. But also the communication pre-appointment (online via their website) was very simple, concise and clear. The whole process was a dream. Now, all my previous ear piercings have been at Claire's with a gun....I did not know places like this existed. In comes Yelp to save the day, yet again. I made 2 appts back to back, one for my friend's nose piercing (STUD) and one for me to see if my closed up lobe holes could be salvaged. Once you step inside, they lock you in - basically to keep everyone else out. You are their main focus! The lady - sorry I didn't catch her name, but she helped us at the beginning and the end. She educated us about the jewelry and piercing care. No pressure to upsell or buy anything. Derek Wallace is who pierced us both and he truly put my friend at ease for her nose piercing!! He is very personable and funny, and so good at his trade. I would come back in a heartbeat! read more

I cannot say enough great things about this place! Yesterday I went in with an irritated a** nose ring & I needed help finding something to replace my current cheap ring. I was in search for something that was real gold, reasonably priced, and fit properly. They made me feel as comfortable as possible, made suggestions and schooled me on proper aftercare as well. Within just a few hours my nose began to heal and looked sooo much better. Today my nose looks 90% better than it did yesterday and I'm not even sore from the ring swap out! I will never go anywhere else for my pericing needs! 110% recommend this place. Thank You Barbella! Xoxo read more

this place is amazing!! i came here w two other friends during their pet fundraiser where they do $10 for each standard piercing. i got 2 helix piercings with hoop jewelry for a total i was blown away by how great and smooth the whole process was! the staff is super nice and helpful :,) it was a bit of a wait but that's to be expected during such a great price reduction. i went around 6:30 and ended up waiting ~2 hours but it was 100% worth it! edit: realized way later that they really shouldnt have let me walk out w hoop starter earrings for my fresh helixes, that really set me up for disaster. i rlly dont know why they would even allow that? they took way longer to heal and one of my helixes is now crooked :/ read more

Been in and out of the those doors for over 10 years and never had a bad experience. Their staff is friendly, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable. Their jewelry is worth the price because the quality is top notch - you get what you pay for! I got my belly button pierced 10 years ago that had Swarovski crystal in the jewelry and to this day it's still pretty and never had an issue. Then a few nights ago I brought my 2 girlfriends in and we got a few ear piercings and it was such a fun experience - we plan on going back soon for more! They've also taken care of my friends who had bad luck with piercings done by other piercers and probably saved a trip to the doctors because Stephen removed them before it got bad plus had accurate advice for proper care. read more

Great piercing studio!! I've been here twice, once last year to pierce my rook, and then yesterday to pierce my tragus! I was pierced by Stephen both times. Stephen was really awesome, he let me know what he was doing at all times and he really put me at ease. The employees at the front are really great as well and are very efficient! They explain the aftercare really well and thye give you complimentary sea salt to help clean your piercing afterwards. The inside of the studio is really clean and has great AC (felt the need to add that because it was like, 100 degrees yesterday...). They even have couches and magazines to read while you wait! It's also really cool looking around the shop at the different earrings/gauges/jewelry they have. Btw, right now they have a special going on until May 19, it's $10 for ALL piercings!! You do have the pay the jewelry price, but it's still a great deal! When I went yesterday at 1pm, I had to wait a little under an hour so it wasn't too bad. Each piercing I think takes from 10-15 minutes so I guess you can use that to gauge your wait time. read more

One tiny little irksome detail: when it was time to pay, the pos machine shows a suggested tip amount for the piercing AND the jewelry. The piercing guy did a great job so I was prepared to tip him generously. But why am I being asked to tip 25% on a piece of jewelry? That didn't feel right. read more
