I arrived a couple minutes early for my 7:15 pm outdoor reservation on a Saturday and was immediately sat by the kind hostess even though it seemed pretty busy. We ordered the Umami Fries to start, followed by two Miso Linguinis. Everything was absolutely amazing! I have not stopped thinking about that pasta. Had to order the Fried Chicken and Three cause of all the hype, Crab Cakes with Watermelon Gazpacho, and the Duck Fat Fries. Crab cakes were actually pretty big and thick also yummy but leaned a bit fishy, gazpacho was refreshing. LOVED the fries - no notes. Also ordered 2 cocktails that we enjoyed but did not taste much liquor in it hahaha Would def come back to try the rest of the menu cause theres a lot of good things on there that caught my eye and taste palette

We decided to do a walk in since the bar seating is first come first serve. Inside the restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff were so incredibly friendly and kind! We only had to wait about 30 mins and the front desk did an amazing job updating us on the status of our wait. While we were waiting, the manager of the restaurant gave us sparkling wine on the house because he felt bad we had to wait, which we thought was such a thoughtful gesture! We chose this place to celebrate our anniversary and although it was a little bit of wait, the service here already made it worth it. As for the food, we ordered the oysters, milk bread, kampachi, sugar snap peas, tuna on koshikari rice, dry aged duck, and the black cod. The food was absolutely delicious! The duck was probably the only item on our order that we would skip out on next time, but everything else we would definitely get again. The oysters were our favorite item that we ordered! It was topped with an aerated ponzu sauce with a celery oil(?) and that was amazing. Definitely recommend the oysters. Ended the night with some dessert recommended by the bartender, the pistachio financier. It was such a nice, warm dessert and a delicious way to end the meal. The Hokkaido milk custard with the pastry was a great combo, and I would highly recommend to end the meal with this dessert. Thank you to the staff at Ethel's Fancy for making our anniversary night memorable!

We got the sesame pancake with trout, coconut salmon fritters, yellowtail tuna on Koshihikari rice, and crispy blue shrimp. 1. Sesame pancake with trout: the pancake was incredibly dry, like eating an old sponge. It came with a smoked trout dip that tasted very basic and was paired with avocado and yuzu, but the flavors completely clashed. The yuzu was practically nonexistent. This dish was just sad. 2. Coconut salmon fritters: these were good, but honestly they tasted almost identical to a Vietnamese dish called bánh ít trần. Even the fish-sauce flavored salmon reminded me of it. Tasty? Kinda. Memorable or unique? Not at all. 3. Yellowtail tuna on Koshihikari rice: it was okay, but it's literally just fish on top of rice. There wasn't much else going on. (at least the fish was fresh). 4. Crispy blue shrimp: another disappointing dish. It was basically shrimp tempura with a fancy name, except we paid $34 for it. At that price point, we're expecting umami, delicate crispy shrimp, not something you can find almost anywhere else. I'll give 1 star for the excellent service and another star for the amazing drinks. The food, however, felt overpriced, uninspired, and lacking any standout flavors. We left feeling more disappointed than impressed.

Flea Street is featured in the Michelin guide. Our waitress was phenomenal the entire evening, being very sweet and attentive. She was quite talented too! ;) Meal started off with the complimentary biscuit, served with a side of beautiful butter, salt, as well as a piece of carrot. This was decent as the biscuit was merely lukewarm. The lamb chop as a snack was quite tasty. These were sold per piece and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The farmers salad, dungeness crab cake, as well as the cured trout small plates were all quite tasty. Loved how premium and light the farmer's salad was. The dungeness crab cake was super light and tasty too! The cured trout was excellent with the homemade potato chips! The cioppino was gigantic and perfect for sharing. It featured a ton of premium seafood, from clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, as well as a couple pieces of black cod fish along with a few pieces of toasted bread! Finished off the meal with an apple galette which was tasty and served with a scoop of ice cream which was surprisingly a touch lacklustre... The meal ended off with a couple chocolate dipped strawberries. ~$130/head after 20% service charge and 3% employer benefits surcharge.

But once you get upstairs the food completely steals the show. We came here for our anniversary without any real expectations for the food. Honestly, we thought the atmosphere would be the highlight. Everything was delicious, but the shrimp salad was easily my favorite dish of the night. I'm still thinking about that salad as I'm writing this. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, the grilled vegetables were flavorful, and everything came together so well. The ambiance was also fantastic. Each table had its own chandelier, which made the space feel elegant and special. It felt fancy without being overly formal. After checking in, we were informed that the entire party had to be present before we could be seated. While waiting, I ordered a drink at the bar and enjoyed the beautiful rooftop terrace. The deep cushioned seating, combined with views of Stanford University, the Woodside hills, and the surrounding skyline, created a memorable setting for a special occasion. The dining room is airy, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. The glass roof allows plenty of natural light without the harsh glare, making the space comfortable and inviting. The menu is fairly straightforward and not particularly unique, though prices are definitely premium. Sandwiches range from about $24 to $58, and the mini lobster or crab rolls are $20 each. For our group of five, we ordered three lobster rolls, lamb chops, two Caesar salads, two orders of oysters, honey-glazed salmon, sweet potatoes, truffle fries, a gem salad, and several drinks and glasses of wine. Unfortunately, neither the kitchen nor the table service lived up to expectations. Our starters arrived, followed by most of the entrees, but the kitchen completely forgot both Caesar salads. We asked about them twice. By the time they finally arrived, the salads were soggy and lacked the freshness you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. RH Rooftop delivers a stunning setting and is an undeniably beautiful place for a celebration. However, for a restaurant positioned as a luxury dining experience, I expected the food and service to match the spectacular surroundings. While everything looked impressive, the meal itself felt average and the service lacked the attention to detail expected at this price point. In the end, I left feeling that I had paid for the atmosphere rather than the dining experience.

The food comes out super fast, and all the employees are really nice. They also quickly clear your table when they notice empty trays. My only gripe is with parking, and it's a huge problem. The restaurant is somewhat in the middle of nowhere so understandably people have to drive to get there. We have eaten at here only 4 times despite coming here at least twice as often as that because we cannot find parking. There are times we've been able to get a table but simply cannot find a spot to park and then had to leave. When the weather is nice, there can be a long wait for a table, and we've also had to leave once because our kids were super young and didn't have the patience. Other than the bar, there's nowhere to go to wait. There are employees in the lot kinda guiding traffic, but the issue is it's really a matter of luck. Someone who showed up way after you may find a spot sooner than you, and it sucks. Sometimes it gets gridlocked too because some parts of the lot are narrow and you can't pass a car waiting for a spot, or a car isn't considerate in pulling over and letting others by. I would love to come here more regularly, but it's such a hassle. We try every couple of months ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But 20 minutes in, the Chef came in gracefully to share that he can't cook it, and he will bring it now, and if we slice it and don't like it, he can then cook the slices. Me and my son thought that we should be able to eat it, even if it was a bit on the rare side, and we did. It wasn't the perfect situation for us, which is the 3 stars, but it wasn't bad.
