I feel oddly like Sleeping Beauty. Were there adorable fluffy deer with twin fawns like in the yelp pictures? I was pretty sure they were photoshopped, but apparently not. My massage therapist Naomi was incredible. I wish I could say that I fell asleep during the massage but actually I left more sore than when I came in.. which. was. perfect! I didn't even tell her what my profession was and she was able to tell the areas that cause me discomfort throughout the week. She targeted the areas of concern and intensely concentrated on them. I loved that she offered essential oils and there was no additional charge for them. The hot stone addition was relaxing and made me feel like a pat of butter on freshly made toast. The setting was exquisite, the massage expertise unbeatable, and the price incredibly competitive and worth every dime. Pretty sure I'll be braving the traffic to return to Oly just for these massages.

I hadn't…read morehad any previous experience with cranio-sacral work and, honestly, was a little sceptical, but the first session with Mandy was really transcendent. Most recently, I've started weaving on a production level and found that the repetitive motion was affecting my shoulders. Mandy expertly found every little muscle fiber and tendon that was affected, including ones I hadn't even realized down the sides of my ribs and up through my forearms, and massaged them loose. When I asked her for suggestions, she had several great ideas for stretches that would help me with self-care as I adjust to the new activity. A simple explanation of what she's good at doesn't capture the magic of Mandy. She's a charming, knowledgeable, intense, connected healer.

Very difficult to schedule a massage. They are booked out months in advance. Which sucks for me…read morebecause I have a membership (I got the membership when I lived in another state) that charges me whether I have massages or not. I did have a great massage with Martina, who I got lucky, had a cancellation, so I was able to use one of my accruing membership credits. However, when I went to book again with her she had no availability for at least two months. I didn't ask for later than two months. They don't use the Massage Envy app for booking, so you have to call in. Which isn't the end of the world, but one of the reasons I bought a membership was how consistent and convenient the process was. I wouldn't recommend getting a membership if you live in Olympia because your credits will accrue faster than you can use them, but if you get lucky and can get in with Martina for an nonmembership massage, go for it!

Since it was our Anniversary, they allowed us to reschedule without paying the cancellation fee. That was amazing. We booked the forest room. The float itself was wonderful, but the shower after was lukewarm warm for maybe a minute and then just went straight to cold. If this was my first time, that would have deterred me from coming back, but the last time we were in the galaxy room, the shower was amazing (super hot and on top of that.. it was a steam shower). Im sure the forest room shower was just having a one off tonight. I would recommend the galaxy room. Just a tip, there is no mirror or comb in the room to touch up your hair and make up, so consider bringing one.
