I organized a lunch outing for our Foodies Group group and contacted the restaurant in advance. We eat out regularly and support non chain independent restaurants. I was told they do not take reservations, but that the doors would open at 11:30 a.m. and seating would be available on a first-come, first-served basis. True to their word, the doors opened exactly at 11:30. Unfortunately, that is where our experience began to deteriorate. Upon entering, we were asked how many people were in our group. When I replied that there were 19 of us, staff immediately began setting up tables outside along the side of the building. I explained that our group did not want to be seated there, as it was away from the direct waterfront view and the main dining area. Despite clearly expressing our preference, no one seemed willing to listen, and the setup continued. We then walked into the dining area where we hoped to sit, only to be confronted by three male servers who told us we could not remain there and would have to go back outside and rejoin the line to be seated. It is worth noting that our group consisted primarily of seniors, some of whom had mobility challenges. Being repeatedly redirected and made to stand and wait was both frustrating and unnecessary. I asked to speak with the owner, whom I had seen outside earlier. Instead, a young woman who identified herself as a manager was sent over. Unfortunately, she was given little opportunity to address our concerns, as the servers continued to insist that we return to the line and follow their instructions. The food itself was very good, but customer service is about more than what is on the plate. I have rarely encountered such a lack of communication, flexibility, and consideration. When a large group arrives ready to support a business, one would hope some effort would be made to accommodate reasonable requests. In the end, most of our group returned to the line and waited to be seated, despite having arrived before many of the other customers. The entire experience left us feeling unwelcome and unappreciated. As a result, I will not be returning, and I suspect many others in our group feel the same way. Super busy but again, we went on a Saturday night at 6:00 pm! We took my daughter and her boyfriend for a double celebration- her birthday and a new job! Parking is across from the restaurant and at a premium. Lot was full and it took three of us to get a spot. My daughter went into the restaurant before parking to get us on the list - they don't take reservations in July and August. After about 10 minutes, we were able to get a spot. The decor is beautiful and we sat at the front bar waiting to be called. They had an IPA my friend liked and the espresso martinis were yummy. We sat outside with a gorgeous view of the lake. Couldn't think of a better place for this celebration! The restaurant doesn't do any extras for birthdays or special events. Service was 4/5 as they didn't remove dirty empty glasses until dinner was over. Food is was pretty good and we loved the beets on the dinner plates. Portions were average. We had apps at home in the backyard so we ended up taking some food home. Positively experience but would like to return when not so busy. read more

We stopped for a late lunch on our way from Toronto to Niagara. Even from a table inside the view is amazing. The food was very good and the staff were friendly. I would recommend that they write the orders down because they forgot our appetizer and we ended up having it for dessert. read more

Barangas on the Beach definitely lives up to its beach bar name! After my friend hyping up their vibe for the past year, I finally decided to check it out with them! I definitely was not disappointed with the service and solid food quality while taking upon the views of the beach. Alongside their drinks, they have a great menu to pair with favourites such as Chicken Souvlaki Pita and Spanokopita. The Souvlaki is quite delicious to pair well with a Pina Colada! The chicken is freshly grilled and pairs nicely with the fresh veggies and sauce! Overall, I was very happy to share the experience with my friends and I can't wait to be back! read more

This is one of the few places along the trail the follows the lakefront. There is a little beach in front (hence the name). The restaurant doesn't look that big from the road, but then you see the big parking lot across the street. It was completely full so we had to park in the public lot west of the restaurant and walk the trail the rest of the way. The restaurant is actually huge. And there's also a giant outdoor seating/bar area facing the water. We were here for a wedding rehearsal dinner with about 50 guests. The food came out family-style so the quality probably wasn't as good as ordering individual entrees off the menu. But we had not complaints about the food. This place is on the water. It had gorgeous views and is such an awesome place to go on a nice day for a relaxing and lovely meal. The ambiance is clean and breezy and the perfect beach vibes - there's even a beach bar which adds to the fun. The food - delicious! The dips platter, spanakopita, shawarma, is all great! My sister gets the chicken souvlaki and says she doesn't love the rice but that's the only complaint about taste anyone has had the multiple times we've gone. Drinks are also great and the menu for both food and drinks are huge. There is something for everyone. Service is always alright. Younger people usually but they're typically friendly. The one downside is cost. This place is expensive so it's not a casual dine. If you don't mind the price though, it's a great spring/summer spot! read more

I had a day off in August so decided it would be the perfect time to come, knowing a weekend would be packed. The location isn't really near anything except the beach, but it makes for the most amazing views and ambiance. The food was good, we ordered the spanakopita to start. The addition of the honey and other sauces were SO GOOD! I ordered the classic chicken souvlaki plate and my fiancé ordered the lamb burger. Although my meal looks small, it was actually filling alongside the spanakopita. The lamb burger though didn't have much flavour and was a bit dry. Didn't know that Hamilton can be Mediterranean too. This one is a Greek restaurant right by the lake. It has a patio and a yard with light buds hanging above, must be very pretty in the summer night. One start to the nice view and decor. Food was good. I had greek salad with chicken and salad taste the same everywhere. This has to be the worst front desk ever. This restaurant flourishes only because of its location. The front desk attendant was a very rude person. No clue of customer service in a service industry! And this is supposed to be the Greeter!! Our server was very apologetic and tried his best to make it a better experience for us. My friend found this place in the area and it was the one of many options for dinner on the patio. I also wanted to try an authentic Greek Mediterranean restaurant because I've only had Greek food from fast food restaurants like Jimmy the Greek. It was great to see that all staff were wearing some kind of face covering, the tables and waiting line were in accordance to physical distancing measures, and that customers were asked to wear masks when they were out of their seats. I also saw a designated staff member who was sanitizing tables and chairs after each party left. I got the watermelon sangria ($14) and chicken soulvaki dinner ($27). The dinner comes with a salad of your choice. I got the beet and walnut salad and I found the sauce they used tastes oddly similar to Big Mac sauce. Haha, but the salad was good. I was expecting the chicken soulvaki dinner to be super big (like Jimmy the Greek's portion) but you pay more for less. There were three pieces of grilled chicken that was slightly dry with grilled veggies which included green peppers, red peppers, and onions. It was served with Grecian roasted potatoes, rice, and tzatziki which was a very refreshing touch. The potatoes were delicious and basically melted in your mouth because they were so soft. The watermelon sangria was also refreshing and had fresh watermelon and blueberries. Although I thought I would have wanted a larger portion, this portion was just enough to fill me up. The view of the beach was beautiful and although we sat directly in the sunlight, it did not bother us and we enjoyed our meal. The service was quick and efficient. After a long day at Niagara Falls we wanted a place with an outdoor patio that was right next to water. We decided to go to Barangas On The Beach after we heard great reviews from other people! We sat on the outdoor patio and this was one of the coolest patios I have seen in the United States and Canada. I wanted to ordered everything on the menu cause everything sounded delicious. I opted for the Slow Braised Ontario Lamb Shank and my wife ordered the Spinach Linguine with Shrimp. My entree came with a salad which had some of the best Balsamic Vinegar I've tasted. For drinks I got the Barangas Mule and my wife got the Sangria Pitcher which we split. The flavors of the sangria was phenomenal and the fresh fruit definitely made s difference. The Lamb Shank was cooked perfectly the and the sauce was out of this world. I could have eaten the sauce by itself! It had zucchini, mushrooms and potatoes. It was similar to a stew based texture. Finally things are starting to open up slowly in Ontario and Saturday was such nice weather we decided to hit up a nice patio out of the city and we got recommended this restaurant. Barangas is a Greek style restaurant located off the QEW and Centennial Parkway in Burlington. There is a paid parking lot across from the restaurant for $10, if you decide to eat here bring the paid ticket with you into the restaurant and you will be reimbursed the $10 from the restaurant. We really enjoyed the food, the staff and definitely the view. The patio over looks a sandy beach and lake Ontario. Even after about 7months of restaurants being closed for dine in the service and speed of everything was very good we have no complaints what so ever. The only thing is they are not taking reservations only first come first serve at the moment which I find is fair. Staff are all friendly and nice. Saganaki is a must at any Greek restaurant in my opinion which is pan seared Greek cheese set on fire with some brandy and usually served with some pita bread Oppa!! We also ordered some feta cheese and olives start start, this is very simple can't really mess it up. The fried calamari was fried golden brown with nice crispy texture to it. good portion to share with a few people. The lamb cops we good not gamy comes with 3 chops some asparagus and roasted potatoes. Only gripe I have with this was I ordered it in medium rare but got it cooked well done. I won't be deducting points for this right now because this was only their 2nd day reopening for phase 1. Lastly we order a Summer Fettuccine with shrimps. This dish was perfect we didn't find it heavy at all perfect for a hot summer day on the patio. This dish can be made vegetarian or add chicken or shrimp to it. There are also artichoke hearts, dill, green onions and all tossed together with lemon and olive oil topped with some arugula, asparagus and cherry tomatoes. I absolutely adored this patio!!! I highly recommend!!! I am from Toronto and I cannot wait for the patio to open back up next year so I can come back. The only thing to recommend this place is the view, which is pretty nice and the decor/service was pretty good too. Drinks: the frozen margarita is basically ice with mango flavouring and does not inspire confidence in the meal to come. The sangria was ok, but I've most certainly had better in a random pub. Food: so hit and miss. Honestly the worst thing about it was the stupidly small serving size for the price you pay and the quality you receive. I don't mind paying premium for either large portions or quality food. Barangas contains the perfect unholy trinity of expensive, poor quality and tiny portions that I'm fairly certain this is a conscious effort to summon some sort of food demon. The gyro meat was pretty good but you can get the same for 3 dollars at a hole in the wall kebab shop. Please do not go here unless you really want to pay for overpriced drinks or overpriced food. The kitschy tropical themed menu was a bit sketchy so I played it safe and ordered the burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were of the thin and long variety. Very crispy, but overly sweet and fairly generic. As for the burger, the bun was under toasted and a bit chewy. The patty itself was over-seasoned. The garlic and whatever else they put in there completely inundated the beef flavour. Blerg. On the bright side, portions were very sizeable. But to be honest, you don't really come here for the food. The view is the star. The patio is a lovely beachside affair with strings of dainty little light bulbs.
