Great summer atmosphere! Barangas on the Beach has a summer vibe by the waterfront trail with traditional Greek and other meals served under a covered patio. In the summer, this restaurant does not take reservations but there are plenty of seats for walk-ins. I loved the Kalamari with tzatziki. It was perfectly cooked with a light batter - just the way I like it. Had lots of choices for drinks, cocktails and mocktails, along with shareables too.

The views... the food... the mocktails... was everything... this place feels like an escape... the drunks were delicious... the service was superb and the food (that we had) was everything... I left and instantly I was planning comeback .. this place is Hamilton literal gem.... 10/10 I highly recommend

Barangas on the Beach definitely lives up to its beach bar name! After my friend hyping up their vibe for the past year, I finally decided to check it out with them! I definitely was not disappointed with the service and solid food quality while taking upon the views of the beach. Alongside their drinks, they have a great menu to pair with favourites such as Chicken Souvlaki Pita and Spanokopita. The Souvlaki is quite delicious to pair well with a Pina Colada! The chicken is freshly grilled and pairs nicely with the fresh veggies and sauce! Overall, I was very happy to share the experience with my friends and I can't wait to be back!

3 stars for the Beach Bar and 5 stars for the restaurant We ordered the Shrimp Ceviche, Spanakopitakia and the Tzatziki from their Meze selection and then were told that they didn't have shrimp or cheese - which ruled out 2 out of our 3 options - which wasn't the best way to start the afternoon The tzatziki was okay and the Greek Fries were basically Fries with crumpled feta But the location is always what brings me back here and the staff. Michaela was great and handled the situation of having to break the not-so-good news pretty well Moving into the restaurant and another fabulous table location followed with some very good food The Summer Berry Salad was sumptuous and delightfully refreshing The True Greek Salad ( Horiatiki ) was certainly a way smaller potion that the berry salad but made up with a positively humungous piece of feta The Grecian Shrimp hit the spot as did the Summer Fettuccine There are many places where these are way way better but what this has going for it are: The Location The Staff And the fact that they have not reduced their portion size of many of their dishes PS: A huge shout out to Kasia who was great

This is one of the few places along the trail the follows the lakefront. There is a little beach in front (hence the name). The restaurant doesn't look that big from the road, but then you see the big parking lot across the street. It was completely full so we had to park in the public lot west of the restaurant and walk the trail the rest of the way. The restaurant is actually huge. And there's also a giant outdoor seating/bar area facing the water. We were here for a wedding rehearsal dinner with about 50 guests. The food came out family-style so the quality probably wasn't as good as ordering individual entrees off the menu. But we had not complaints about the food. We were served your typical Greek fare - gyros, tzatziki, olives, Greek potatoes, rice pilaf, lamb chops, Greek salad.

Barangas on the Beach has been popping up all over Instagram and TikTok, so I took it as a sign that I needed to come. I had a day off in August so decided it would be the perfect time to come, knowing a weekend would be packed. The location isn't really near anything except the beach, but it makes for the most amazing views and ambiance. The food was good, we ordered the spanakopita to start. The addition of the honey and other sauces were SO GOOD! I ordered the classic chicken souvlaki plate and my fiancé ordered the lamb burger. Although my meal looks small, it was actually filling alongside the spanakopita. The lamb burger though didn't have much flavour and was a bit dry. The meal was pricey, but if you think about location and how they close for the fall/winter season.. this is how they stay afloat for the year. So all in all, I'd come back!

My friend found this place in the area and it was the one of many options for dinner on the patio. I also wanted to try an authentic Greek Mediterranean restaurant because I've only had Greek food from fast food restaurants like Jimmy the Greek. It was great to see that all staff were wearing some kind of face covering, the tables and waiting line were in accordance to physical distancing measures, and that customers were asked to wear masks when they were out of their seats. I also saw a designated staff member who was sanitizing tables and chairs after each party left. I got the watermelon sangria ($14) and chicken soulvaki dinner ($27). The dinner comes with a salad of your choice. I got the beet and walnut salad and I found the sauce they used tastes oddly similar to Big Mac sauce. Haha, but the salad was good. I was expecting the chicken soulvaki dinner to be super big (like Jimmy the Greek's portion) but you pay more for less. There were three pieces of grilled chicken that was slightly dry with grilled veggies which included green peppers, red peppers, and onions. It was served with Grecian roasted potatoes, rice, and tzatziki which was a very refreshing touch. The potatoes were delicious and basically melted in your mouth because they were so soft. The watermelon sangria was also refreshing and had fresh watermelon and blueberries. Although I thought I would have wanted a larger portion, this portion was just enough to fill me up. The view of the beach was beautiful and although we sat directly in the sunlight, it did not bother us and we enjoyed our meal. The service was quick and efficient. I did notice they were quick to get us in and out although this makes sense because there was a line up.

Baranga's comes with a great view of the lake and of the city skyline on a clear day. Along with that is some of the best Greek food in Hamilton. We enjoyed a beer on the patio with a great view. For our lunch we enjoyed an All Beef Gyro, Chicken Pita, Beef Bacon & Swiss Cheese Burger, and the Lamb Burger. If you want Greek and a view this is the place to be.

    Gyro with salad no onions

My Father in Law had the shrimp Pasta, my husband and I had the Gyro with Greek Salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. The tzatziki sauce was perfect. The service was top knotch and the view amazing. Definitely would come back when in town!

Great location and it was. Perfect sunny day to sit on the patio Patio is very amazing and overlooks the beach , Fresh air to breathe and good Greek food . We tried the mango margarita, Bruschetta appy , beetroot and walnut salad and Moussaka . moussaka was very nice, filled with delicate veggies and meat sauce . Overall a good experience , view n food . It would definitely need food improvement in terms of quality , taste , temperature and variety !

This place is everything....the ambiance, location and food is The food was amazing; so fresh and actually sooo filling. I didn't think it would be because of the portions but everything was so flavourful. Def worth a try and would come back if I was in the area again

Stoped on the way to Toronto for lunch on a gorgeous summer day! The service was good, the view was AMAZING and the food was everything we were looking for try the summer berry salad, tiropitas and the saganaki (OPA!) everything else looked great too! Seriously, sit on the patio and enjoy before summer is over!

Sun is up, so we looked for a place with a nice patio and a nice view. Place can be crowded on the weekends, but it's worth it to wait for a patio seat. Place is amazing, a bit pricy, stick to appetizers and drinks. I strongly recommend their vegan meatballs, it comes with hummus. One of the amazing patios that you should visit during summertime.

Food took forever when it arrived. When it finally came out the chicken was raw. When we complained the owner argued.

The oysters were to die for. The scallop crudo was a hit & the tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection. My favourite was the mushrooms & parmesan fries. Service was exceptional & we were well taken care of throughout the evening. The only reason i'm giving 4/5 stars is because of the bathroom & the lobster. The lobster was quite chewy & unappealing so for the price I was expecting a lot more. The bathroom stall was a mess with pee all over the floor.

They even asked the sous chef to make sure the presentation was excellent; he didn't disappoint. Their menu changes seasonally. I ordered the following: 1. Coke ($). 2. Tempura Shrimp ($27). 3. Crispy Duck Leg Confit & Breast ($46). 4. Saskatoon Berry Cheesecake ($14). The Tempura Shrimp were tiger shrimp and were so plump, each about 1 inch diameter at the widest end! They were de-shelled and tempura battered. There were orange slices (orange), avocado slices (green), and chili slices (red), making the dish colourful. The Crispy Duck came with a leg and sliced breast portions. Accompanying them were tamarillo, sunchoke puree, bordelaise, dried kale chips, berry gastrique, and chopped candied pecans. All the ingredients worked well together, with mixtures of savoury and sweet tastes. The Cheesecake was amazing. The cheesecake itself was an upside-down half sphere. It was soft; I prefer that over the typical firm cake. There were miniature dried berries on top, along with a ruby chocolate sauce, and a sliced of dried red beet. Surrounding it was a soft marshmallow meringue which was lightly torched. The colour theme was red and white with a touch of dark blue. Daimon, the sous chef, plated everything expertly for me. There is plenty of indoor seating, of which one side has a view of the lake. There is lively music playing in the background. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms. There is free street parking on weekends on a street running north of the restaurant. There is also a paid parking lot next to the restaurant. Nestled along the shores of Lake Ontario in Vineland, this storied establishment, housed in a structure dating to 1867, has become one of those places that quietly lodges itself in the memory and refuses to leave. We made the drive -- well over an hour -- for a Sunday brunch, and not for the first time. It is the kind of restaurant one finds oneself recommending without hesitation, not as a curiosity or a seasonal indulgence, but as a benchmark. The setting alone would justify the journey: a sweeping, unobstructed view of the lake from the sunroom and patio that shifts in character with the light, the season, and the mood of the sky above. On a clear day, the Toronto skyline is visible on the horizon -- an almost implausible grace note. But Lake House does not rest on its scenery. The kitchen demonstrates genuine culinary ambition with a menu that draws from Mediterranean traditions while remaining grounded in local and seasonal sensibility. The salmon crab cakes -- a pairing that sounds indulgent and delivers accordingly -- arrive with a pineapple and mango chutney and sriracha aioli that balance richness with levity. The Great Canadian Burger is a study in considered indulgence: brioche, peameal bacon, sweet bacon jam, and spiced maple aioli achieving a harmony of sweetness, heat, and savoriness that lingers well past the last bite. The service matched the occasion throughout. From the welcome at the door to our server Rhonda -- attentive, warm, and precisely calibrated in her pacing -- to the supervisor who moved quietly through the room ensuring that every table was well attended, the floor operates with the kind of seamless, unhurried care that is too often mistaken for effortlessness. It is not effortless. It is practiced and deliberate, and all the more impressive for it. Lake House Restaurant is a destination that justifies the drive, rewards the return, and -- in a dining landscape where so few establishments manage all three -- that is no small thing.

If you enjoy condiments the semolina crusted calamari ($26) comes with four dipping sauces:…read moresweet-curried aioli, sweet chili, basil pesto aioli, and sriracha aioli. It would've been nice if at least one packed a bit of heat, but they're all tame, adding flavour without overpowering the squid. Thankfully, the semolina crust was excellent - crunchy, light, and not oily at all. The portion is generous and easily shareable between two or three people. A newer addition to the menu is the short rib sandwich ($34), and it's a good one. Large chunks of tender, flavourful beef are topped with sautéed mushrooms, crispy onions, arugula, and brie. The cheese adds a creamy richness that makes the sandwich stand out. The menu notes a horseradish aioli, but any zing from it gets buried under the slightly sweet braising sauce, which was too sugary for my taste. I would've preferred it kept more savoury. The sandwich is already quite saucy, and yet more sauce arrives on the side. Good for fries if you choose to switch the salad to spuds. After hearing plenty about the Great Canadian Burger ($29), I couldn't resist splitting one, though I ultimately wish I hadn't. The short rib sandwich is better. The burger is hefty, with a thick beef patty that's overly dense and heavily mixed, giving it more of a frozen-patty texture than the crumbly tenderness of a good homemade one. The potato bun also struggled to hold up against the avalanche of toppings: grilled peameal bacon, cheddar, onion, tomato, arugula, pickle, and two sauces. I'm not sure why the kitchen insists on sweetening everything - the burger comes with caramelized onion bacon jam and a maple chipotle aioli, both quite sugary. If you enjoy sweeter savoury dishes, you'll probably like it. Otherwise, I'd skip the handhelds. On our weekday lunch visit, the restaurant was well staffed and attentive. Even though we never felt rushed, we were in and out within about an hour. If anything, the service bordered on overly attentive... during that hour we were interrupted six times by four different people checking if everything was okay. My suggestion: let the primary server handle most of the check-ins, and only have others step in if things get busy.
