Overall space is nice and service was attentive and friendly. Cocktails were actually not that bad, kind of like Manhattan prices if not lower - Manhattan with Bulleit Rye was $18. It won't blow the minds of the average gambler or party animal, but it'll satisfy anyone just looking to drink away while staring into the abyss of table games and slot machines. It does sound a bit depressing, and that's even before the pandemic started. The bar itself is like many along the mega casino spectrum: chill most nights of the week with semi-friendly bartenders at the helm, with a lounge-like atmosphere and TVs playing in the background. There is of course the option to play some video poker along the counter and just enough seating on the bar and lots of designated seating along the edge. The draft selection is pretty standard mainstream stuff and the cocktails tend to sway on the sweeter side. There was a point in time where they would offer happy hour twice a day (morning and late afternoon) for half priced cocktails, beers, and wine. Since they were pricier, it may not seem like much of a deal for a bar outside of the casino, but within? It's pretty good. Obviously, this isn't a destination bar but one that works well for meeting up with folks, drowning one's sorrows from a serious gambling loss, or killing time with drinks because there's nothing else happening in the place. It is however, very much ingrained in the fabric of the casino and one that hopefully will get better in time.

Well I would tip the lady a dollar chip, but its still free basically. I think I understand why this bar is so close to the checking in counter. You'll need a strong shot of something after dealing with some of the personnel behind the counter, I know I needed one and you know I doubled down. The bar scene itself is ok, kinda clustered if you are sitting at the bar. You have touch screen poker blocking a majority of that space. I know I love touching a sticky screen or buttons because of the spillage of drinks getting in the way . Could this be a dive bar located inside of a casino? I am not sure though they do have good draft selections , all the liquors from what I have seen, with plenty of TVs to look at. The bartender I give him credit though, he did show a great deal of patience while I was there. I love the stumblers that came in there and started hitting the machines trying to put money in where the comp cards go. He made sure though your drinks were good, asking if you were ready for a refill. In all for a minor escape from the hum of the slot machines being played this is a pretty good stop to enjoy a libation or two.

This visit was Pre-Covid…read more Overall, the food is delicious. The portions are on the smaller side, but they do know how to cook what they offer, I will give them that. Server was friendly but overbearingly trying to make you order and order and order. You could tell that the only thing on her mind was raising the bill so she could get a better tip. There are better ways you can do this without making it too obvious, but obviously she wasn't taught or trained in those subtle ways. We didn't know that they closed at 8 on the weekends, and when it turned 8, they turned on all the lights. I was quite caught off guard by that, because having worked in fine dining, you give your guests at least a 15 minutes grace period to enjoy their meal. Especially at a spot like the Seven Star Lounge. The most surprising thing that happened was a few minutes after 8pm, I think it was a little past 8:05, one of their employees didn't just whisper, or say it, but they actually yelled out onto the floor, "Ok, time to go home!" If you were that intent on going home, then you shouldn't have received any guests. We had no idea they closed at 8, otherwise we wouldn't have come in, but they told us it was last call when we sat down, and they said it would be fine as long as we ordered our food right away, which we did. They close at 8. They turn on their lights at 8, and a few minutes later, an employee calls out something very rude, and inappropriate. And we had received our food at 7:50pm, and quite a lot of food, because our server was intent on getting our bill high. So I can't understand how a customer orders a lot of food, you bring it out 10 minutes before closing, and then you turn on all the lights, and yell out inappropriate remarks. Then our server came over and brought us plastic cups so we could put our cocktails in it, trying to rush us out. In 20 years of customer service related businesses, I have never seen such rude and unprofessional behavior, especially in a business that is supposed to be as high end as Seven Stars. We always enjoyed dining here, but this was obviously our last trip. Between my wife and I, the pictures I posted are what the two of us ordered! Yet they give us 10 minutes to enjoy our meals! It's a real shame too, because we love the vibe and the ambiance here, and we were really, really enjoying ourselves, but for TEN MINUTES!! LOL! What a world we live in. I give 4.5 stars for the taste of the food. 1 Star for the server. 0 Stars for the staff as a whole. The food is the only reason they are getting 2 stars. Still trying to figure out to this day why we left a 25% tip.....

There was a live pianist taking requests, and he was good. Competent, even charming, although his frequent reminders that songs will be played in order of greatest tip to least made us think his salary was entirely gratuity based. He played what people wanted to hear across a wide spread of genres, which is a kind of small miracle. Still, it felt like a watered down substitute for something that once had a pulse. The ghost in the room was Gypsy Bar, which used to offer actual live music on weekends. Closing it was, in my opinion, a small but meaningful cultural error. Now, between B Bar, Long Bar, and this place, the Borgata has achieved a kind of perfectly acceptable sameness. Three bars, none of them offensive, none of them memorable. My wife ordered her usual gin and tonic, a drink that asks for very little and is satisfied when it receives it. I went with a Sazerac, motivated by the presence of absinthe, which I had somehow avoided my entire life. It turns out absinthe does not cause hallucinations, unless you count the fleeting belief that you are having a more interesting drink than everyone else. Still, it was well made and nicely presented, as was hers. Service was slow, which felt odd given that the bar was not especially crowded. Not neglectful, just unhurried in a way that made you aware of time passing. Prices were what one expects in a casino hotel lobby. High enough to remind you where you are. In the end, it is fine. Perfectly fine. You'll probably get a pretty good drink, you might hear a pleasant song, and except for your wallet, you'll leave no worse off than when you arrived. But you may also find yourself remembering something better that used to exist in the same building, and wondering why it doesn't anymore. Four stars, though at least half of one of them is doing a fair amount of emotional labor.

Booths line the edges like polite sentries and the bar itself is lined with slot/video poker machines in case you feel like doubling your disappointment. I arrived with a party of four just 45 minutes before last call on a Tuesday. You would think that would be enough time for a few drinks and a few laughs. You would be wrong. There was a man in a suit behind the bar doing what I can only assume was performance art meant to mimic sabotage. There was a bar back who had the dazed expression of a man recently asked to name all the moons of Jupiter in alphabetical order. The bartender moved with the speed and confidence of a tortoise delivering bad news to a hungry bobcat. Service was a game of drink-by-drink roulette. He took our orders one at a time in the most literal sense. One person would speak. He would leave. He would return eventually with something resembling said dink. Another person would speak. He would leave again. Rinse. Repeat. We might have been speaking in code and he was off deciphering it at the opposite corner of the bar. The drinks were okay. Not good. Not bad. Okay. The menu was fun to look at though. They called them potions. In the VooDoo Lounge. How clever. It was the highlight of the visit and the only reason I gave them a second star.
