My photos don't do this place justice. This lounge you need to have at least a gold tier status to b be able to go but it's definitely one of the best vip lounges in Atlantic City. Not only is the food really good with lots of hot options but the service is great, it's clean, you get free drinks including alcohol. Borgata was sold out over the long Presidents' Day weekend in their hotel rooms but still the line to the lounge was very quick, much faster than the regular buffet. Good luck gambling! read more

I love the Amphora lounge! Gold and up gets you in here, Noir you don't needs to stand in line nor pay entry, but for Gold and Platinum it's $12.50 in comps pp. each member can bring 1 extra guest per visit. No you can't pay cash if you out of comp dollars, only comp dollars accepted. Tip the wait staff they are absolutely great and always aiming to please. The unlimited top shelf drinks are fab and keeps me coming every time I'm at Borgata. The food isn't the best, it's a buffet after all, but is good enough to go with your 10/10 delicious drinks! Prime rib, shrimp cocktail, soups, salads are staples. The Buffet here is smaller than the reg Buffet upstairs, but the food quality I find slightly better. Amphora lounge is 21 up and no children allowed, so it's much less hectic and relaxing atmosphere. The crowd is mixed, more retired folk, but I absolutely love it. I've met so many nice people here! From what I understand these lounges are less common from Casino heydays but there are still few around. I hear from the grapevine Amphora beats Hard Rock & Oceans VIP lounges but I don't know I haven't gone to those yet. Borgata treats me too well to leave! This is a club only for members with MGM status, so I felt special being able to come here. It's downstairs from the main floor, so no view, but it's an elegant lounge with buffet style food and unlimited alcoholic dreams. I got a pina colada and an Irish coffee when I had dessert. Compared to the main buffet it's much smaller but there was still a carving station, some tasty hot dishes, and quite a few cake/pie/cookie options for dessert. It's less chaotic because it's smaller scale, and the ambiance feels very upscale. It's a great place for lunch or dinner and to chill a bit between hitting the tables. If you do have status at other casinos in AC, see if Borgata still does status matching and give it a visit to get some comps. I think it's much nicer than the last time I went to the Caesar's lounge. Definitely a delicious and filling meal. read more

Yassssss!!! If I could give this place a 10/10 I would. I really enjoyed this lounge. The fact that you could only indulge if you are a gold or platinum member was questionable, but I still enjoyed. Upon arrival we were greeted at the greeter's station which is upstairs from the restaurant. We went down the escalator and was seated. It's an all you can eat spot. They had some good food. Plenty of shrimp and carved meats. Their Mac and cheese was tasty as well. All you can drink (that includes alcohol). Our server was amazing. He tended to our every need. Came by plenty of times to ask if we needed anything. That was appreciated. I definitely look forward to going back to Amphora Lounge. read more

My absolute favorite players lounge! I've pretty much visited them all. Unless you have the top players card you need to have $12.50 comp dollars pp to get in. You are allowed yourself and 1 guest if you have a gold M Life Rewards card or above. We pretty much visit here every time we're in AC which is pretty often...lol They have a great selection! Jumbo shrimp cocktail is my favorite starter. They also have hot dogs w/ lots of toppings every day and that's another fan favorite. On the weekends they always have carved prime rib and another selection on the carving board. Then they have numerous other proteins like pork, chicken, or steak. They also have a fish selection then lots of sides. Usually mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac n cheese, fried rice, vegetable selections like green beans, cauliflower, sweet potatoes. Then they have some type of pizza selection that varies. Always soups and salads and a good amount of desserts. Plus it's open bar... They make delicious cosmos, and chocolate martinis. You can order whatever you want. Everything here is great! Just be sure to tip your server. If you can afford to get in here then you can afford to leave a tip... Don't be stingy! Came with MGM gold to have dinner. It's buffet style with whatever you want from the bar too! Crowded but was pretty nice. The buffet was small but had some good stuff! The shrimp cocktail was my absolute favorite! The shrimp were definitely jumbo, and perfectly cooked. The mussels were very average. They had a hotdog station. Then hot food which kind of varied every day. They cooked salmon really well actually, not too dried up. The lemon rice and fried rice was really good. General Tso's chicken was ok. The prime rib was pretty good too! The desserts were also just ok I really wished they had more of a fruit selection. But they just had a lot of cookies that were pretty sweet. Very average dessert. I always pop in here whenever I stay at the Borgata or Water club in Atlantic City. This lounge has a wide range of delicious foods & desserts. They also have a full service OPEN bar which is included with your entrance fee. The fee is not expensive if you earn comps-$25 for 2 adults. Servers/Busser's: all very hardworking and hospitable. Shari waited on me twice and she was consistently professional and always smiling. Some nights they have fried shrimp as well as cocktail shrimps at dinner time. To get into the Amphora Lounge at Borgata you're required to have MGM's Gold players card. Each gold card holder is allowed to bring 1 guest and entry costs $12.50 comp dollars per person. The $12.50 includes buffet and unlimited drinks. The drinks are always good and the service is outstanding. I've been lucky enough that over the years my grandparents have always taken me to Amphora and we've developed friendly relationships with a handful of the servers. They're always friendly and accommodating. The food has been hit or miss. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's underwhelming, but for $12.50/person including drinks you cannot beat it. Great little buffet in the basement. Less chaotic than the big buffet and conveniently open on days the regular buffet was closed. It does have less variety but it had everything I wanted including prime rib. No gelato like you have in the main buffet. No dessert options that I saw for GF diners which was disappointing but not a deal breaker. I found the service to be a little less attentive than I would have preferred. Love this place. It's a lounge for Black card (and up) holders. There's a very decently-sized buffet (smaller than the main/upstairs one, but this still has some quality goodies). Another yuuuuuge plus side is that the drinks are all on the house - topshelf, more/less anything you want. Macallan? You got. Grey Goose Martini? Done. You can sit there, nosh, and keep the drinks coming...which is probably more winning than I'd do at the tables, so why rush? The staff also have some standout stars like Armando and Evilyn! Lovely lounge. It cost $12.50 in comp to enter. The waiter was attentive and checked back often to see if I needed a refill on my water or drink. Also, plates were whisked away in a timely manner. The buffet was very small but had plenty of options to choose from. I had a wonderful salad and some hot items. They made me a pistachio martini which was good. It was so pretty it got the attention of the lady sitting at the next table. We were both solo diners and struck up a conversation when she asked me what I was drinking. This review is long overdue and I'm embarrassed it took me so long to post about such an awesome experience. Someone in another review mentioned that the lounge is kind of drab and doesn't have a view. I must admit that there is no view but I'm not there for the view. I'm there for a quick meal and a cocktail. The service is really good, the staff is attentive, there is a nice selection of food and drinks. The plus is that I met a stranger who immediately became a friend after our dinner conversation and while we live about a thousand miles apart we stay in touch. Dined here last Friday 11/5, the hostess was friendly, seated me away from the crowd which was a big plus. I have not been here in almost 2 years due to covid and my fear of contracting it at a place like this had got the best of me as far as not using my membership benefits at the Amphora. Although I have had my shots and a booster for a total of 3 I'm still weary. The food here was just ok at best. The prime rib was rare but cold and the Mashed potatoes were very good. Beyond that everything else was like a employee cafeteria and very institutional in flavor and presentation. The desserts were utterly rancid. I ordered a martini and received some poor excuse for a drink, it was some watered down well vodka pored over a bunch of ice in a half filled wine glass. Drink service here was bad and getting drinks was problematic. Our server Kathy was rude to me and my guest. It just seemed like none of the employees gave a shit about this place or its guests from A-Z, just bad They really need to keep better control of the temperatures of the food. And perhaps try to deliver that unlimited top shelf food and liquor that they advertise but really don't. I will not be returning here anytime soon. It was not even worth the $12.50 in comp dollars per person. Awful food and drink and even worse service here. Try to avoid this one if you can. read more

I'm not sure why everyone is saying you must have black card status. If you are gold or higher you can get into the lounge. You must have at least $12.50 in express comps per person and you can only take in one person with each card. The food was good, the drinks are good too, but they don't have the high end alcohol that people are talking about. They didn't have Stella beer and they didn't have Tito's vodka. I have a particular affinity for the Borgata Hotel, Casino, & Spa. It is simply the place to go in Atlantic City for all your gambling and food-related needs. And at the Borgata, if you attain Black Card status, if affords you some special privileges, including free rooms and comps at the Borgata Hotel. But one of my favorite perks is the exclusive access to the Amphora Lounge. The food is of higher quality, the lines are not as long as the Borgata Buffet, and most importantly, you've got top shelf liquor completely comped. During the summer, Amphora Lounge is open on Mondays through Thursdays from 2 to 10PM. Fridays, it's open until 11PM. And on Saturdays and Sundays, the Lounge opens at 11AM. All you need is your black card and $10 in comps. Then you and a guest can descend down the escalators. Feel free to order up some drinks at the bar or grab a seat in the dining room and your server will bring one for you! They've got a special section with multiple channels on offer - golf, tennis, the news ... they really do try to accomodate your needs. But let's move on to the food! The offerings are not as widely varied as the Borgata Buffet, but the quality is certainly better. The GF and I came for breakfast and partook in some crispy apple-wood smoked bacon, plump chicken maple sausage, and cheese blintzes. For brunch, other offerings included oatmeal, ham steaks, parmesan pommes, scrambled eggs, and cinnamon swirl french toast. They even have an omelet station with a variety of ingredients to add! Other offerings included chicken with rhubarb vinaigrette, red snapper with a spicy watermelon coulis, and a shaved zucchini salad. But for the GF, it was all about the dessert station at center stage. To whet her appetite, the GF started off with a mimosa. And I started off the morning with Johnnie Walker Black Label - again all comped. Granted it was only 11AM in the morning, but it was a Saturday and we were planning to spend the rest of the morning at The Water Club pool! Some San Pellegrino was in order as well. The cheddar bay biscuits were pretty good, but admittedly (though somewhat reluctantly), they're not as good as Red Lobster! The GF and I indulged in some carrot cake pops and delicious coconut macaroons - trust me, you have to get the latter. Completely gluttonous and rich - it's heaven in your mouth. Or you can indulge in a homemade apple tartlet! Perhaps you can end your meal with a cappuccino and then, feel free to gamble in the casino, head to the pool, and have a grand old time in Atlantic City. After trying this place out a few times, I have to downgrade my review from 4 to 1 star. It's supposed to be a privilege to have access to this place, with unlimited top shelf drinks and a better quality buffet than the big one. Players at the Borgata need to put in a tremendous amount of gambling to have this privilege, and they should be rewarded accordingly. However, it just ends up being a disappointment. Here are the points why the Amphora Lounge has gotten a bit disappointing for me: -- There is almost always a big wait to get in. An exclusive lounge with a long line does not feel exclusive. It feels annoying. No idea why the Borgata won't build a second or a bigger lounge for its Black Label patrons. -- Although certain food items on their mini buffet are pretty good, their desserts are all brought in and taste processed. But generally the food tastes institutional to me. -- No beers on tap whatsoever, not even a cheap one. There is only very cheap Bud or Coors Light available in the bottle, or other mainstream varieties. With local craft beer being the trend, they should follow suit. An exclusive bar should have better drinks than the average bar in NJ would, and not worse. I personally know a few brewers who have approached the Borgata to get their beer on tap at the Amphora, and they are turned away. -- The wines are insulting; they are all cheap. You are stuck with mixed drinks. But I'm not a mixed drink person, but I feel I kind of have to take advantage of what little they offer me. -- The crowd of people there is geriatric at best. Often I'm the only person under 40 there, and I don't feel as if I belong. -- It has a very dark, dungeon-like feel. You take an elevator down to get inside, and you feel trapped in there. It's not cheery at all. There are no windows. With a building as nice as the Borgata, with the views that the building has, why isn't the lounge in a nicer part of the building? The answer is that they picked out the cheapest part of the building to put this place. -- The TV's are small and cheap in the bar area. The ones in the main area are mounted so high up, you wonder why they are there in the first place. -- There is a syringe disposal bin in the bathroom. That makes me think one of two things: either the crowd using the bathroom all is old and diseased, or heroin addicts use it. Again, here's the theme that the place just doesn't feel exclusive and rewarding. Saturday and Sunday Brunch are the best. Food is consistently good. Lunch and dinner are not as consistent. Some days the selections are good. Other days not so much.
