Stop in because sign read lunch for $10. I decided I only wanted a BBQ sandwich and a drink. Paid around $15 which no problem. No Coke or Pepsi which I never been to a place that didn't carry at least one. I asked to sit outside, the lady gave me my drink and I waited, and waited, and waited finally I got up to go inside to see what was taking so long and the waitress met me at the door and handed me a sack like a to go order. I sat outside and finished my sandwich which was not that great meat had a lot of fat but the bbq sauce was good so made the sandwich ok. Because of the long wait time and being served in a to go bag not to mention it wasn't that good I do NOT recommend this place. read more

Had to try this place with high ratings. Got the combo (ribs and brisket) with Brunswick stew and fries. The ribs were really good and the bbq sauce. I had a problem with the brisket. Very fatty and rubbery, hard to cut with plastic utensils. I normally see the brisket flat served. This seemed to be the point and of poor quality. I visited the Bar-B-Que House for lunch. It is a small place, a little run down, but was crowded. They offer a variety of $10 lunch specials which include your drink. I ordered the BBQ tray (BBQ and your choice of red slaw or white) and a side item. I was well pleased with my meal! They offer a variety of sauces to satisfy everyone's taste. The bbq was good. Fries were good! The best thing on the menu was the Texas Toast. Very good. Otherwise, some of the food was a little off. Even the sauce (vinegar one) and dressing tasted off. The green veggies didn't taste good. I have been to hundreds of bbq places in NC, and these were the worst I have had. I can imagine it tastes good drunk though. Just need some recipe changes. My first visit here was last year (2021) and I loved their smoked meats (pork, brisket and chicken). I didn't really care for the potato salad and slaw. We visited again this year and I was finally was able to get ribs. They tend to run out regularly. And I know why because they are AWESOME! Very tender and tons of flavor. Wow! We seem to always be let down by bbq places - we want it to be better than it inevitably is. I mainly judge a place by their brisket, and wow, just wow, incredible! Waitress was awesome, food was awesome - and came out fast. I would say price is on par with anything not fast food. Would recommend to anyone who loves barbecue. My son had a double cheeseburger and even commented how great that was - he's 15 and everything is awful at that age... Hope to go back before we leave spring break! read more

The ribs were definitely par boiled and lacked any smoke or flavor beyond the sauce. The pulled pork was very tender, but also lacked any smoke or flavor. The brisket was also tender; it had no smoke, but was my favorite of the three. The wings were also tender, but had no flavor. The sides were just OK. Again, the greens had no flavor and the macaroni and cheese was a bit runny. If you are hungry and don't mind tender, but flavorless BBQ, this is your place. read more
