Horrible service, the waitress was very rude. I ordered a burger and it was raw. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The crowd was all locals drinking at the local bar. The place looks nicer than it actually is. We experienced a fantastic 70th birthday party for my mother in bar 3's upstairs event space. The room was elegantly decorated before we had even brought in our own birthday decor. They even went out and bought us black tablecloths the day of the event. The space easily accommodated our group of 35. They offered the jukebox or a hook up that a dj can easily plug in to play music over their system. We selected a buffet option for a very reasonable price that included chicken Parmesan, vegetables, pasta, salad, and potatoes. The chicken Parmesan exceeded my expectations and would definitely recommend it for a party. The bartender and owner were very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. Although, I only drank miller lite at the party, I can attest to their wide variety of craft beers and my mom raves about the blue Hawaiian drink. It's a great, classy addition to the millvale scene. First time at bar 3. Service is excellent! Cassie our server is on it! Drinks came in minutes if not seconds! Nice pour. Appetizer: buffalo chicken arancini is amazing. Less about the buffalo and more about the perfectly done and evenly seasoned risotto w/the perfect amount of bite/spice/heat. The main course is fantastic. I'm having the catfish; fantastic! Bar 3 is a great bar with Incredible food. We started with the Buffalo mac and cheese and the firecracker shrimp. They were both amazing. My wife and I then split the bar 3 Burger. This burger is one of the best in Pittsburgh. The ham BBQ topping it is an incredible touch. All of their food is unique and delicious. Spent a great evening with family and friends at Bar 3 in Millvale. So pleasantly surprised! Bar is super clean and great atmosphere. Our food was fantastic. We had a flatbread and the soft pretzels were heaven. I also was told the burgers were awesome. Owner Mark was out and talking to customers. Seemed very hands on. This is the only bar I regularly enjoy coming to with friends to drink, eat, and hang out. There are plenty of TVs at the bar if you want to watch a game, too. They have a great beer list filled with local craft brews. The menu is classic Pittsburgh and Western PA inspired, but it's definitely more elevated than a simple ham BBQ sandwich would lead you to believe. I was so excited to have a bar in millvale sell food. It looks nice, the menu looks good but the execution of the chef just wasn't there. I'd much rather have slightly plainer food well executed than spend the money on over price fancy food which was a little blah. read more

I went with kids for Sunday brunch. There is no kids menu, but the kids split the order of pancakes with leftovers. They even did 2 different preps - one kid wanted regular pancakes and the other chocolate chip - no extra charge. They said the pancakes were delicious. I had the caprese chicken sandwich. It was also very good. Our server was friendly but slammed - she was by herself and was bartender and the only server. Overall, we liked it and will go back. I knocked off one star only because the server really could have used some help at the height of the lunch rush. read more

Stopped in to grab some beers before axe throwing with friends! It was very clean and they had a great selection of beer. Great breakfast! Big portions. Perfectly poached eggs for the Eggs Benedict. I loved the atmosphere. People stand in line at other establishments for a breakfast that is mediocre in comparison. I've also been there in the afternoon/evening. Great beer selection. Excellent flatbread. I look forward to trying other items on their menu. FYI their hours have changed apparently and brunch is only til noon. So we got the regular menu which was fine because I wasn't really in the mood for breakfast. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the different beers on tap which I appreciated but they were out of a couple things I wanted. I wasn't feeling overly hungry so I just got the brussel sprouts as I am usually obsessed with brussels. Omg worst decision ever. You could tell they absolutely were not fresh. They were whole and small and definitely looked like the frozen microwaved kind you get out of a steam bag. They were soggy AF and not in the least bit crispy. Barf. Next my fiancé got the quesadilla burger which was okay but very difficult to eat. The fries were the best part of our meal but they were pretty salty.. Lastly it was not even busy in there but the bartender rarely checked on us and took awhile to get us the check because she was busy gossiping with her friends who were there..talking badly about a mutual acquaintance who apparently had come into the restaurant days before. Not a good look and totally unprofessional. She also let her friends search channels on the TV which led to a long time of complete silence while they flipped through channels..no music on either. Went to bar 3 for dinner because we live right by and are always excited to try new places in the area - started out ok- beer was good. Vibe was nice. Decor was great. Menu looked good. Ordered a Reuben- it came and was very small on regular tiny white bread with maybe one slice of meat- told the bartender I thought it was on rye bread - he said no it's not; they don't have it - i looked at the menu again and it said the (as any Reuben is) sandwich was on rye- i told him The menu said it as a heads up and then the response was " oh they change it up" - I told him the reason I ordered it was because I think of a Reuben as a big sandwich on good thick marble rye. He said sorry. We were still billed for everything. If you are starting a business to locals- don't lie. Just take ownership. read more

This was an interesting one. I took my 83 yr old mother there on a Saturday early afternoon. She had a salad Nicoise and loved the atmosphere and food. That's enough for me. I got a "brunch hamburger" which had a sausage patty and over easy egg. It was so good I couldn't believe it. Whoever the chef is, they clearly have ideas. To quibble, the brunch menu was virtually straight from a Chelsea Bar, and that scene has its limitations, no espresso drinks. But the touch of the chef was clear, and the waitress came back to refill the coffee cups multiple times and got my mom's life story in the process. Only in Pittsburgh. Would definitely come back. So we've heard nothing but great things about this place, decided to give it a try. Got 2 burgers and the pirogies appetizer. Price was way too high for what it was, lacked overall flavor and basically tasted store bought. It was close to a $40 meal that I could have and should have made at home, and the worst part is... ever since we left we've both been sick. Twice now we have gone and tried to have breakfast. They show it online, they have a menu for it, but no one come to the tables. Even after yelling "hello!?" I gave it 1 star because of the beer. We walked in and waited 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drink orders, meanwhile the male bartender was busy talking to other customer laughing, and joking, no acknowledgement. We ordered the chicken and cheddar stuffed jalapenos and when they came, the jalepenos were raw and we bit into them and immediately my mouth was uncomfortably hot, no, on fire. I only took a bite and was done. I have a pretty high tolerance for hot foods, but this was way too hot. It was Do they not know you're supposed to cook the jalepenos to release some of the heat to make them edible? I also ordered the crabcake sliders, they were mostly breading and were put on the grille and had a burnt char. They tasted like they were old, and the slaw did too. The fries were soggy, and way over salted. Overall very disappointed with the food, in fact, I'd have to say it was horrible. Obviously, someone invested a lot of money to get this place together. Why not invest in a good cook and customer service? read more

I went to Bar 3 before heading over the New Hazlett Theater on the Northside for a Front Porch Theatricals production. The food here was awesome. We got the loaded fries with beer cheese. The beer cheese is the best I've had. I got a shrimp po'boy sandwich and my friend got a hamburger. Both were very good. but I would have liked more protein/less bun. I can't complain too much because the bread was excellent as was the shrimp. We both had coleslaw as sides and that was very good also. I had the Nutella-berry crepe for dessert! It was very good. My friend had a cheesecake and loved it! The bar has Grist House beer on tap. I will definitely be back. read more

I have been to Bar 3 several times, but the most recent experience was unenjoyable. I went there about three weeks ago and had been meaning to write this review sooner so I could warn someone about their Spinach Artichoke Dip. I went with a group of two other girls and myself, we ordered a few appetizers and drinks. As always, their beer selection is great, but we were unpleasantly surprised by their Spinach Artichoke Dip. The dip had a sweet taste, it took me a minute to determine the "secret ingredient", but I asked the bartender if they added cinnamon to their dip, and sure enough, they do. Out of us three women, none of us could eat it. I honestly believed someone mistakenly added cinnamon instead of another spice, but apparently they added it intentionally. Would not recommend the dip. Overall, pleasant atmosphere with good drinks, but I have not been highly impressed with any of their foods. read more
