I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it's disappointing. My family tried the Sunday brunch and first we couldn't hear ourselves think over the singer/guitarist's loud music. The mac and cheese tasted moldy and it took forever to get my omelette. One of my pet peeves is restaurants that have filthy restrooms. I always think of the fact that the employees--who are fixing and handling my food--are also using the unsanitary bathrooms. Bar 145 has terrible restrooms. Wouldn't recommend Bar 145. read more

This is the worst place I have ever eaten in Toledo! We went today on the recommendation of a close friend who is related to one of the owners. While the menu leads one to believe that they can accommodate just about anyone's pallet, it is quite the contrary! My wife is allergic to soy, and they predominantly use an oil containing soy on their grill. My wife asked if the chef could possibly clean off an area on the grill to cook her burger, so she would not possibly have an allergic reaction. This is a pretty common request at most progressive, customer-service oriented restaurants across the country. Our waitress returned after asking the chef about our request. She acted put-off by the request and said "no" he cannot do so, as "the restaurant is too busy". My wife chose no to eat, as there was nothing else suitable on the menu that she could have. While the rest of us ordered and completed our meals, the waitress avoided us like the plague! What a terrible experience we had! All because the waitress couldn't be bothered and would rather be rude and obnoxious rather than concentrating on being nice, and polite, or even apologetic. This kind of wait staff/employees will drive a business into the ground faster than even having an inflexible chef or a rigid menu that doesn't accommodate the diverse needs of the customer. Stay away from this place if you have any needs that stray from their exact menu, rigid chef and rude wait staff! read more

They have great burger deals on Wednesdays. Its $5 build your own burgers! Also if youre out there Fri or Sat night they have $6 specialty burgers. The food is good but some of the items are slightly salty. Get the burgers. read more

I am absolutely obsessed with this place. They have the best burgers in town, and I really love that I can create a new burger every time, so I will never get sick of this place. They have wonderful servers and a great atmosphere. Live music and "dueling pianos" is something that I will definitely have to check out. They changed everything! The options for the burgers dropped by half, and they cheaped out on lots of the portions. I understand having to do well as a business, but they were always packed out before because of how awesome the food and music were. Had the Kobe burger and I don't think it was Kobe. Wasn't seasoned very well. I asked for it med. and it was mid well. My friend got the 5 spice wings and they were over cooked. Our waitress was excellent and very nice. I think I could make a better lobster mac and cheese. read more

I gave them 1 star only because I HAD to. I have never been so HORRIFIED with an establishment in all my life. The staff at Bar 145 were some of the RUDEST, JUVENILE, UNPROFESSIONAL people I have ever dealt with. I am a 51 year old woman with an arthritic ankle & had just driven 600 miles to see my 23 yr old daughter, who lives in the area. I was 'trying' to enjoy the band by dancing on my bad ankle. When I went back for beer #3, the tatted up so called 'guy in charge' (his name is not Chris... Ih wait...) told me I had had too much, so I had to stop. Not happy, but ok... I continued to enjoy the band, with no beer as my 23 yr old daughter was served so many drinks, she couldn't walk out of the place. Who is really in charge here? The management is JUVENILE, the food is HORRIBLE & the staff is RUDE & UNREASONABLE.. I will NEVER frequent this 'effed' up place as long as I live & it is my HOPE that my daughter will RECOGNIZE the INCONSISTENCIES, POOR JUDGEMENT & LACK of RESPONSIBILITY while serving too much alcohol to 'the pretty ones' & allowing them to make poor judgements as a result.. aka OVIs, DUI, blackout behavior, etc..... Called explained that the movie we were going to see was over around 9:45, and my 17 year old brother was with me. I asked if they would be open and were serving food at that time, as well as if they had vegetarian options and if my brother could go in. The guy on the phone said yes to all and invited us to come. After the movie an additional friend met up with us and we were informed that the kitchen closed at 9. Needless to say we weren't to happy about that. read more

Had two different bartenders try to make an old fashioned. Should be a walk in the park for a bourbon place, right? Both completely watered down with soda and a total joke. Poor service and lots of fat disgusting flies. Smells like chemical cleaner but everything is sticky, what's up with that? Our waitress had only two tables during late lunch and it took her almost 15 minutes after we finished eating to bring us our bill. Food was okay but it was hard to keep an appetite when you constantly brushing flies off of your food, clothes, face and arms. The atmosphere is great and the huge bar is something to see (25 seats). The menu is small and nothing special. The food was okay. Got a "Build your own Burger." 1) If you get BBQ sauce expect the bottom bun to be very soggy. They coat the burger in their BBQ sauce (which was very good) but again, it just seeps into the bun. 2) It's rather small, and not good, for the price. After getting a burger with cheese you're looking at $9.00 just from that. The burger itself doesn't have flavor. It's just beef with no flavor. The toppings are good, but when I want a burger I want a burger. 3) The fries are awful, and too expensive ($2.00). The first set that we got were stone cold. We sent them back and got fries that were "Fresh." They have to be sitting there for some time. They were super greasy. Really this place is nothing special. They have a nice beer and drink menu, but the food isn't anything to write home about. You're better off going to a basic chain if you're looking for the same food, flavor wise, for cheaper. Menu items looked good but service was way to slow and meal awful. I ordered a romaine berry salad and it was a big pile of mush. When I was asked how my meal was by the waitress I said it seems all mushy and I asked if the berries were frozen she said no And I quote from waitress " it must be from being under the heat lamps by the burgers " what's wrong with this picture !! It's true. I've experienced better. Service was good, attentive and as prompt as the bar and kitchen would allow. Drinks are overpriced and WHO runs out of Smirnoff at 6:00 PM on Friday evening??? The Fries were a SOGGY disappointment. . My burger was overloaded with the condiments I requested to the point where I could barely find the beef. The chain's owner / head chef was in the kitchen making these disappointments. I can get a better burger down the street but they don't serve liquor at Steak & Shake. The food was good but I was disappointed with the bourbon pour. I ordered a Blanton's for $7.50 and it barely covered the bottom of the glass. Let's see...32 ounces per bottle times $7.50 per ounce comes to over $200 profit per bottle. Give me a break. read more

Very poor service. Our waitress even had a girl training with her and we barely saw either of them the entire time. Food was ok. The presentation of it was good, but the burger itself was mediocre. The food is superb! Top notch for sure. If the service would have matched the product from the kitchen it would have been a grand slam! I ordered a Kobe beef cheddar bacon grilled onion pickles burger on brioche with fried Brussels sprouts as my side. Also order a side salad which I asked to receive prior to the burger. The bartender served it in this order. 1. burger 2. Brussels after I had to ask if they were coming, small portion which could have been a bit bigger 3 salad which I had to remind her I ordered as well. The bartender seem busy but at the same time they don't really appear to be paying attention and anticipating the needs of their customers. The food is awesome tho! read more

The service was great and the cocktails good. However, I can't give a higher rating due to the good. I went in thinking I'd get a burger but the chicken and brie was calling to me. Big mistake. I LOVE brie, but this sandwich was lucky if it had a tiny smear of brie, SO disappointing! On top of it the chicken was dry and overcooked, only made somewhat edible by the fruit preserves. We also ordered the pub chips and pretzel apps. Both were over $6 and tiny portions, only large enough for two people; however, they did taste good. Food OK, server nice, but the table hopper spilled my friend's drink in my lap, soaking my shorts and shirt. They were kind enough to eventually clean up our table, seat, and some of the floor, but I surely didn't go anywhere afterward like I had planned because it looked like I wet myself. Nobody came over to make amends for the drink that I wore for the rest of my meal, and I'm really glad that they were casual clothes and not something else. I was seated quickly and opted to sit at the Bar since I was alone for lunch. Bartender asked what I wanted, then took a while to bring back water and a menu. Finally, she returned after another long wait (not a lot of customers). I ordered the Chicken and brie Panini and mac n cheese instead of fries. The prices are high, especially for lunch. They did not even have a lunch menu or any specials. Average wait time and a waitress drops off my food. She doesn't give me silverware or even a napkin. I finally was able to flag someone down for both. I am highly unimpressed by the food. The Mac n Cheese was ok. Do not order the Panini. Very small portion. Springs of rosemary? came out of the top to make it look like a mini pine tree was growing from it. The bread was not even toasted or grilled. There was no crispness to it as all. You could not taste the brie, but a light layer was on the bottom. If you are going to name something chicken and brie Panini, that should be the two most powerful flavors. A fruity sauce was on the Panini that overpowered the entire sandwich. The chicken was dry and tasteless. The worst part of this Panini was picking it up or trying to bite it resulted in everything falling out of it. Mac n Cheese was gritty. The cream sauce tasted like it was made incorrectly. Seriously one of the worst places in terms of service. Our server started off with an attitude, was barely available at all, and our sides didn't come out till 15 minutes after our burgers had arrived. The prices are steep for O.K food, and don't you dare sit too long, or EVERYONE at the door stares at you until you leave. We were there celebrating my husband's birthday so there were 8 of us with a bill over 250 dollars. The waitress, with the attitude, added an 18 percent tip without telling us and delivered the checks. One of our friends caught the added tip after we had all already started to add our own and we quickly changed what we had all written. She tried to double her tips by not telling us about the added tip. My brother and his wife paid in cash and she took it and never brought back change. When asking for their change back they asked if she knew that there was already a tip added and she responded "uh yeah I put it there. Fine I'll bring back your change". When she FINALLY came back with their change she slammed it on the table and stormed off without saying anything. It was the wrong amount. She didn't say goodbye to us, but she did slam a pile of dirty dishes from another person's table in front of me before we got up to leave. Seriously one of the rudest servers I've ever encountered, and I worked as one for 4 years. As far as I'm concerned the only thing going for this place are the drunk people who will fall for the tip scam, and their artichoke dip. read more

We dined at bar 145 yesterday. The bar at first appears very open and trendy and the patio is very nice ( except the smokers ruin it of course! ) the burger we had was the slo po burger. The burger came with nothing but the bun and toppings for $11, and it certainly wasn't huge by any stretch of the imagination!!! The truffle/rosemary/parmasean fries were few, limp and seemingly undercooked for $5. We also ordered the grilled romaine salad that was a head of romaine salad cut in half with oil and crispy fried onions on top which was good but again very small portion. When all is said and done I had a burger small fries and side salad for $23 which, I'm sorry is way over priced!!! If I go back, and thats a big IF i'll only get maybe a beer and not one of the overpriced unheard of draught beers either! read more

Tried the brunch buffet today. I admire bar 145 for their approach to gastro-pub/ hipster chef- cuisine. Usually pretty solid and inventive. The food all looked good on paper- Mac and cheese bar, herbed scrambled eggs, chicken and waffles. Only chicken and waffles were good. Everything else was- meh. Always a danger with buffets. At $15/ person for the buffet, we found ourselves going back for something, anything that was "great". This was not happening. Partly, this is a function of the buffet, not THEIR buffet, but the very choice to be a buffet only. I was really hoping for a menu as well. Sadly, no. That would have bumped this up a notch because I know what they're capable of. Gripe #2- bar 145 sometimes lives between being a good restaurant and a hip bar for the college age crowd. Normally, this isn't a huge issue, until you get to the service. A crowd of 19 yr old clones prowl the restaurant with a serious disinterest in food service and ingredients. I've been here after hours, with thousand of bud lights flowing through ice tubs, that's the crowd the staff thinks they cater to. I would suggest different teams, more food literate teams for brunch, something to elevate from where they are to where they could be. Also, add an a la carte menu that shares the ambition of the rest of the menu. read more

I have always enjoyed Bar 145 for Lunch, but recently it seems it has become less appealing, due to the food which is becoming less appetizing, and the atmosphere which as a bar i have no problem with loud, but do have a problem with Men yelling profanity when the are children of the younger age around. Absolutely dumbfounded by these reviews! Went there opening night and have gone back ever since! This place rocks! I love the food, atmosphere, and live bands! I love that the owners interact with the customers! They are true genuine people! If this is overpriced to you, or too much of a unique menu, then you are clearly not the target market they are going after! A burger cheese, and 3 toppings for $9 come on! Overpriced? Do you realize they don't own a freezer, and everything is made fresh daily with the beat product!! Go to red robin, or hooters! Bar145 chose Toledo over anywhere else, if this place fails it will not be because of a bad server it will be because of the people!
