Bar145 is great. They always book good bands to play on the weekend. I also like that it is a very diverse crowd. It's often. Crowded, but the bartenders work quickly and I've never had to wait too long for a drink. I have not yet tried their food, but have heard good things. read more

I have to start by saying that I have mixed emotions about this place. When it comes to food quality this place is hit or miss. I have been here multiple times and have tasted and ordered everything fir salmon burgers to cheese platters to pretzel appetizers. Like others reviewers have mentioned the menu is seasonal which some might prefer but I find inconvenient, when I finally find something I like it seems to be gone the next time I go. I will say their Salmon burger with roasted asparagus and hollandaise sauce was excellent! But again I have no been able to reorder order and I have been there three times since. Their fries as others have mentioned are shoe string fries which I don't care for, and the portions are small. I have to agree that having been to burger bar 419 I feel there food is much better and more reasonably priced. Now on to the service. Do not plan on going on a weekend and getting any sort of service! Even if sitting at the bar the place is too busy with singles trying to hook up that it is impossible to get a table or service. Stay away if it's the weekend but save yourself the trip and some money and go to burger bar 419. read more

I'm giving this 2 stars solely because the music and the aesthetic is good. I have never had such terrible service. My friend and I ordered a drink and it took 10 minutes to even get that drink. Our 3rd friend came a little later and ordered her drink..... she never got it. After we ordered our food and someone from the kitchen dropped it off our waitress never came and checked on us. We had to ask another worker to get waitress so we could pay our bill. She charged our friend for the drink she never brought and when we brought that to her attention she did not even apologize. Just left Bar 145 after taking our three god daughters there for the first time. They were busy so the really slow service was somewhat understandable. Apparently a popular band was playing at 9. We waited and waited to put in our order, drink refills after food arrived then for the check. With our coats on and my husband signing the check, a bouncer approached our table and spoke directly to the three little girls (ages 9, 10, and 11) and told them it was nine o'clock and they needed to leave. Didn't speak to the adults at all. We both spoke up and said we were trying to leave although we weren't aware of a rule or anything. He shrugged and explained it was a rule and he was told to come tell us to leave. Wow. Very rude and unexplainable to me. Just bought an $84.00 dinner, food was good but we were treated so disrespectfully at the end that I had to leave a review for the first time in my life. Can't say if I'll ever go back but wanted to share in case spending your money where you are valued matters to you. read more

If I had written this review ten months ago, I would have easily given Bar 145 five stars. The last two would earn it 2 1/2. All elements have gone down hill. The tap selection is pedestrian when compared to most in the area. The apps have deteriorated to either caricatures of where they once were or into a bland abyss. The only saving grace are the make-your-own burgers. Some nice options are available for the myob that include staples as well as some that are a bit more adventurous, especially for T-Town. Duck confit? Yes, please! I hope this place, that was once a fave of this foodie, will return to its days where everything was top notch. I believe it can, but if they can't, I will be frequenting Burger Bar 419 a whole lot more. read more

I have been coming here for years, and I have always had slow service. I'm not sure if it's the kitchen or the serving staff but it is never fast enough, and I like to enjoy my meals, so I'm not expecting fast food timing but I waited 45 minutes for soup (which is premade, all you need to do is plate it). I didn't get a drink for 10 minutes, and then did not get a refill for the rest of the meal. It's a shame because the atmosphere is great and the food is excellent, but I will not be dining there or recommending the place due to the poor service. read more

I think I'm done with this place. I've been a regular customer since it opened and over the last year I've watched the quality of food decline and the the service is possibly some of the worst service I've had in a very long time. Went to bar 145 on Saturday might. Had to use my credit card to open a tab. No biggie. I told the bartender I would he paying cash when I went to pay. She took my money and charged my card! Meh is right. Let's break it down: Pros: -Potato waffle, shared by our table of 4, was pretty tasty. -Lots of different options for your burger Cons: -I had to imitate a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man to get our waitress to come to our table. She'd walk up, hear one request, like a glass of water, and then walk away before seeing if anyone else needed anything. We had to call her back about 6 times. -I ordered my burger medium rare. It came out medium well. If you're a burger joint, you better get the burger temp correct. Just sayin. -A burger should come with fries (or at least chips) without having to charge extra. $2 for a side? Ridic. -Speaking of sides, I got the fries. They were greasy, not cooked long enough and tiny. Pretty gross. A friend got the mac n cheese. She said it was dry. -The pretzel bun was not very fresh. -Despite the overcooked patty and the stale bun, my toppings were tasty, but they should be since I picked them. I was disappointed in the lack of number and creativity of preselected burgers. Can't your chefs come up with anything better? -Friend's chicken sandwich was "just OK." I guess Bar 145 is the new "cool" place to hang out in Toledo. Hope something new comes along soon. read more

The atmosphere is good, but the menu is misleading and disappointing. I went there tonight with my wife and I ordered the first entree on their menu, "Chicken & Waffles". It claimed chicken thighs between two waffles. What I got was one small piece of chicken thigh between two huge waffles. I mentioned to the waitress how the menu stated chicken thighs "plural" and she mentioned it to her manager and we got the "sorry we are new and haven't worked out the kinks" line from them. No apology, no compensation, no discount. We also tried the truffle fries with dinner and got a meager portion, sad to say that wasn't worth the order. I have to admit the atmosphere is nice, but the music was way too loud for 6:00 on Thursday. Sorry Bar 145, but I won't be going back unless I am having drinks there at the bar with friends. read more

Very excited to have a high end burger joint like this in Toledo! The bartender was friendly, they had a very good beer selection, and the decor is very cool. My burger was on the small side for the price, but it was very tasty and filling. The bun melts in your mouth which is a total plus. I thought the the appetizers were very ok (we tried the mac and cheese and the potato waffles) and the fries were the same. I would like to come and eat here again after they have been opened for a little longer. I think Bar 145 is probably an awesome place to see a band play or to go for a drink at night. read more

I was pleased, for the most part, with my visit. However, when it came time to close out my tab, my opinion of this establishment went straight into the toilet. After receiving my bill, I noticed I had been charged for several beers that I did not order--and by several, I mean 4 (I had legitimately drank 6 over the course of about 4 hours, but was charged for 10). My date had 2 drinks of her own that were properly tabulated. I expected a quick fix, as this is something that I can understand happening in a busy bar such as this. I mentioned the discrepancy to the male bartender who closed my tab (but had not been waiting on me) and he shrugged his shoulders, said, "Well, someone must have charged them to you," and walked away with no further discussion. I then flagged down the female bartender who had served me all 6 of my beers. She recognized that an error had been made, but then explained that they were unable to refund me for the extraneous beers, as I had paid with my credit card. I had some difficulty understanding why I had been charged at all, at this point, because I hadn't signed the bill nor written in the amount I intended to tip. Regardless, tensions were now running high. Finally, a manager intervened. She was able to refund the full, incorrect amount that had been charged to my card initially, and rang up a new, correct bill. I then tipped $3 on a $26 tab, which I thought was respectful yet still low enough to show my disappointment. In the end, things worked out. However, the 10 extra minutes it took to close my tab, in addition to the smarmy attitude I received from the male bartender when I questioned the total, were enough to sour me from going to Bar 145 again. read more

This seems to be a burger town. With so many new options and few for vegetarians this is a decent locale. The vegetarian bean burger is a little too salty but at least it's an option. However they have many side options that easily substitute for a meal. The truffle fries and the salads are great. Service is finely honed even if the atmosphere is a bit trite. read more

I go for dinner and they always provide good service. Food is always what and how I expect it to be. Always pour a good drink as well. The Sunday brunch is excellent and always a good time for the whole family. For a bar that vocally prides itself on making the perfect medium-rare burger (cooked to 145 degree) and its selection of bourbon, I have to say I was impressed with neither. First, the bourbon. As a frequent whiskey drinker I was excited to learn there was new restaurant specializing in bourbon. How perfect, I thought. But when I asked the bartender if they served flights, he acted as if he didn't know what I was talking about. Ok, fine. But combine that with a scant bourbon cocktail selection and it was quite a disappointment. As for the burgers. the opportunity to enjoy a perfectly made, medium-rare juice-dripping burger is enough to make my mouth salivate. This, however, is not the place to get it. Our first burgers came out not medium-rare, or even medium, but well done and cooked entirely through. After sending them back, the second attempt wasn't much better-- somewhere between medium and done. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but for an establishment named in honor of medium rare burgers, it was just....wrong. And a let down. It's overpriced as well. A small (and I mean small) custom burger will run you about $11 without adding anything too fancy-- and the $1 additional charge for bacon gets you exactly one scrawny 3" strip. Hardly what I'd expect from a joint trying to "wow" me with their burgers, and I walked away feeling nickel and dimed. I feel like it's trying to cater to more refined palates by importing cheese and bread from Ann Arbor's Zingerman's, but if the portions remain small, cooked incorrectly, and average in taste, I'm afraid they've failed. The atmosphere is loud, the servers and staff seem inexperienced, but maybe things will polish up after a few months of business. Until then, I plan to stay away. I wanted to like this place... I have been looking forward to trying Bar 145 since I first heard about it recently, and today I went for lunch. The place itself is not huge, but the atmosphere was comfortable and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I found the menu to be creative and interesting, and the food was delicious. In addition to the regular menu, there is a create-your-own burger menu, where you can choose from a list of different cheeses, sauces, and toppings. I ordered off the regular menu, but I plan to try the create-your-own on another visit. There are different types of live music featured in the evenings, which I would also like to check out on a future visit. I definitely enjoyed this place and plan to return soon! read more

When this place first opened, the food was great. However, today's lunch visit was disappointing. First, they got my order wrong. When I started to eat my burger, the egg I had added was so salty I couldn't eat it... the same with the soup I ordered as a side. My wife ordered a burger and spinach salad. My husband and I were recently visiting a friend in Toledo and needed some delicious dinner. Enter Bar 145. The vibe is hip yet casual. The drinks were delicious and they have a great craft beer selection for my husband. But the thing I loved the most about Bar 145 was the build your own burger option. Even better was the fact that you could substitute the traditional beef burger with grilled chicken, turkey breast or a black bean burger. Since I'm not a huge fan of beef I went with the black bean burger, which I was told was made in-house. I was not disappointed. The toppings were delicious and the pretzel bun made my day. I believe this is the best burger joint in Toledo. The food was fantastic! The fries seasoned with truffle oil and thyme pared so well. The place had a nice buzz in the air and the place was decorated creatively. Tuesdays they have Pinot on the patio. We were able to enjoy the wine for only $15 but it was to hot to be on the patio. I have been to Bar 145 several times late at night and enjoyed the atmosphere, music, and prompt and friendly service at the bar. Most recently I stopped in later in the evening for a burger and a drink. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect. The burger was cooked exactly as I ordered, and the fried green beans were equally delicious. I also appreciate the extensive variety of Bourbon they offer. I will definitely be back. read more

It was just ok as far as food. Food service was sloooooow but our waitress was attentive. A bunch of cute girls standing around not doing much too. Felt like they tried to hard to be more gourmet but fell short for me. The French onion soup was totally bland. I built a chicken sandwich that on paper looked delicious but was also bland. The fried brussel sprouts would have been amazing had they been hot. I took the idea and made them at home though and they turned out great. My husband liked his burger though but he's not as picky as I am. I thought it was a bit over priced for the taste. I went on a groupon but doubt I'd go back for the food. This place had a great price point and was very delicious. I went on a Wednesday for their martini night and had a delicious version with prosecco. So lovely. It was really fun to build my own burger, especially with interesting components like baked apples, interesting mayos and, my favorite, pretzel buns. The flavors were big and scrumptious, and the live music on stage was fun (though a little loud). The smoking outside was my least favorite part, but the service was great. Our party of 3 went to the Bar 145 for food and drinks early evening. We were told it would be at least an hour wait. We sat with our drinks at the bar waiting and waiting. An hour came, we went back to the hostess who told us it would be at least another half hour if not longer. It was apparent that most people were there to just drink and "camped out" at their tables. I wouldn't even recommend this place for even that. We left very unhappy after complaining and all we got was a "we're sorry". What a waste of time. read more
