We pay Cedarcrest tens of thousands of dollars every year and they do very little besides sending out payment books. Main issues: -Lack of timely responses, if any at all -Changes in assigned property manager and assistants so we're always in transition mode and no one knows what's going on -Lack of continuity so I have to explain my situation to each new person -Manager is not familiar with our bylaws or real estate law which forces an -Over reliance on lawyer and that we have to pay for every query -Directors and owners are difficult to reach and lack accountability Community wide there are so many complaints. Terrible service. Inept and unfriendly staff. Organizationally, Cedarcrest seems to be a mess so that brings chaos into our community.

Their office hours and their open door policy is a great improvement over the previous mgmt. company. I just wish other residents would stop complaining and throwing blame at issues that were caused by and ignored by our previous Board and mgmt. company. With over 400 apartments, they surely have their hands full in dealing with many issues and personalities.

    This management is not handling their "tenant/homeowner" issues professionally. The bylaws are not…read morecarried Even with proof beyond measure...try complaining about a tenant for five years! I've tried talking to this tenant, being a neighbor all to no avail! The tenant knows they can get away with excessive noise...tenants in the next building complain about their neighbors and we are told...it's between tenants!!!! I've called the cops three times, banged a broom numerous times! To no avail ...10:30 pm at night work and/or school night...bang bang, thump thump and sometimes caboom!!!! I can't even take a nap on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon because there is never any quiet time from these people.... I bet if they are fined it will stop!!!! 5 years this has been going onI hate it here and should be compensated either through my HOA or moving expenses...no one gives a crap here, no one!!! I've done everything possible to handle this issue...I'm 65 years old next month and at this point it's elder abuse...neighbors tell me the old lady before had issues with the same broad...that should tell someone something, you would think! This issue is not being addressed properly, period! As I write this I dread going to bed because come 10:30 this broad gets a second wind and there goes the noise. Which is a violation of the bylaws because it's 10:30 pm!!!!!!!!!!

If there were a negative rating numbers I could give, I would do so without hesitation. Residents are required to use "their"contractors, who are unresponsive and rude too. Run away, as fast as possible. Your HOA fees will greatly increase and service will decrease dramatically.

I've never asked them to fix anything that they didn't jump on my request right away. They are honest in their dealings with tenants, and make everything easy for smooth move-in's. The Totowa Manor is a beautiful building - inside and out. Neighbors are pleasant and it is a warm, safe, and friendly environment. The 5,000 sq ft gym is beautiful, clean, and well kept. I can't think of renting from anywhere else!

They were kind enough to take my parents around to various units, explained the lease, and allowed them to take their time as they sent me videos to help me pick an apartment. Once I settled on a unit, I was so overjoyed to see it in person. My apartment is beautiful, well maintained, and more than I could have asked for. I did have one issue with the bar in my closet, but maintenance came quickly and not only resolved it, but was also very kind and funny. All in all I'm so happy I picked to rent from this company. Beautiful apartments, helpful staff, and an all around great experience. I highly recommend looking into properties from them. Thank you again Blair and Sean for all of your assistance! Update: about 2.5 years later and I still rent from this company. I did switch from one apartment they have in Nutley to another one (my boyfriend and I moved in together and needed a larger place) but I'm still just as happy. Any time I needed something fixed they came right away. Still recommend them!

    Do not rent from this company, and pass on 125 VALLEY ROAD IN MONTCLAIR, as it is basically a…read moretemament building. I just received a letter from this management company regarding my security deposit for an apartment I vacated in March. They letter stated that they would not be returning my deposit due to damages they claim I made during my tenancy. A month earlier I was told by the same management team that they would be returning my deposit within 30 days, so of course, I was surprised to receive the letter denying the return of my deposit. What is more disconcerting is that they falsified the date of the letter to make it appear that they had send it to me within the legal time frame. However, they sent it certified mail 2 weeks later on May 11. This is against the security deposit law which strictly states that a landlord has 30 days to return a former tenants security deposit. Not only did they falsify a legal document by pre-dating thier letter to me, but they also made up a ledger of "damages" to the apartment and charged me exactly the amount that they owed me in security...including a charge for $1250 to paint a small attic room that measured no more than 10x12! (By the way, landlords cannot legally charge a former tenant for painting walls). What a BLATENT FRAUD. Shame on them. But honestly, this was just the cherry on the s**t sundae. This building is a delapidated wreck, and the landlord is so cheap, that they never really fix anything. Just a lot of lip service. I lived without a dishwasher for most of the 16 months I lived there. The heat is sparingly provided (even though I paid a heat charge of $100 all twelve months of the year) and many times during the winter my apartment was below 60 degrees. Meanwhile, the attic room (which my son lived in), was never less than 90 degrees in the winter and over a 100 degrees the rest of the year, which forced me to buy a 10000 but air conditioner and run it 24/7 just to bring the temperature down to 80 or so. All this because some GENIUS decided to seal the skylights so they no longer opened as they were originally designed to. The room was a bonfire HOT BOX ALL YEAR AROUND. The circuits were overloaded and so running more than one appliance at a time would cause breakers to short out. Once a fuse blew and burned my son's memory card to his $5000 computer, which I had to pay $500 to replace. The walls in my bedroom did not meet the floor (yeah you heard me!), which meant that dust from the sheet rock was always present. All of these things were brought to managements attention, but they failed to do anything other than the cheapest repairs. They also had an annoying (and once again ILLEGAL habit of charging late fees if they did not receive rent on the first of the month! Legally tenants in NJ have 5 days to remit rent. Hey PMI- ITS CALLED A GRACE PERIOD...EVER HEARD OF IT??? Anyway, clearly they lack any semblance of professionalism...and forget decency. This company is a con and their properties are garbage. If you enjoy paying a premium to live in a temament, then by all means, give these jokers a call. I'm sure they will be happy to take all your money.

Anyway she told me apartment is still available and emailed me application. The next day I had all documentation as requested by her. I texted called, and email she never responded. Only after numerous calls to PMI property they told me listing is no longer available. Amanda Peck has not returned my calls or text to this day .I know she received text because her read receipt is on., so unprofessional. Do not contact her. Any other review about her timely response is a lie she probably wrote it herself. If they had ZERO THATS WHAT I WOULD GIVE HER. Very childish of her
