Popped in to grab a replacement nose stud, as I lost mine while traveling. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to tell me the gauge I needed just by looking at it. The vibes were great. Everyone seemed friendly. Maybe one day I can come back and get a tattoo. :) read more

Service was great from start to finish. We went by the afternoon before we left and were able to make an appointment for the next day. Ivn did my tattoo and it was exactly what I wanted. Everyone was nice and friendly. I even had a question after we got home and texted the shop number and they got back to me the same day. read more

The artist was cool the front desk woman should probably find another job and the shop rate was pricey I know it's in a prime location, also they want you to eat the operating cost of the business by charging you a 4.5 percent credit card charge. read more

Wife and I went to get tattoos while on vacation. She got a beautiful dragonfly by Spike! Great tattoo, reasonably priced and perfectly done. I had a chronological list from my grandfather down to my youngest grandchild that I wanted on my back. I supplied the list to the artist "Ruben" HUGE MISTAKE! The picture says it all. I spent $800 for something that will cost me $1500-2000 to get lasered off! Sorriest experience ever, transposed dates, names left off, poorly corrected misspelling. Fully recommend Spike, avoid everyone else! PAY WITH CC SO YOU HAVE RECOURSE! read more

Tattoo itself was good. However my wife was seen an hour later than her appointment time. She had also went to ask a question during that long wait and the front office lady cut her off and told her to ask her tattoo artist without hearing the question. read more

Piercer was unprofessional. It felt like it was his first time piercing someone. He took too long setting everything up, then at least five minutes struggling to get the jewelry through the piercing, and then LOST THE PIERCING NEEDLE IN MY SHIRT. Had to get undressed in front of him to find it. Overall not a good experience. The person working at the front desk was nice though and the tattoo artists seemed more professional than this guy was. read more

Went in for my first tattoo with one of their visiting tattoo artist, Abel, and it was incredible. He drafted up a design that was authentic to the Hawaiian fish hook and explained his design, he took great care of me knowing it was my first tattoo and I was scared out of my my mind. Sara at the front desk is very warm and welcoming, and she answered all questions without judgement. Amazing experience. Worth the money. read more

Sara at the front desk was incredibly sweet and helpful -- she made everything easy and welcoming. They were able to fit all of us in before our flight, and we couldn't be happier with how the tattoos turned out! Sebastian was our artist, and he was amazing -- super talented, knowledgeable, and friendly. We felt completely comfortable and cared for the entire time. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great tattoo experience. Thank you for making our last day so special! read more

I was very excited to get a tattoo of my daughter's handwriting done here. We asked my daughter to write her name and used her handwriting as a template for my tattoo. The process itself took less than 30 minutes, since the name itself is only 6 letters long and fairly simple. Here we are a week later and the ink on my tattoo looks very sparse. I took care of it following my artist's recommendation (use aquaphor after removing the cover they provide two days later, no sun, no water, no lotion, nothing!). I was very disappointed with the outcome, given that the tattoo was very simple and it cost me $220 for it, I wish the execution and the outcome of how the ink looks like was a little better. read more

Thanks to my husband getting sick of me shopping he had a seat on a planter and saw the red tattoo sign in the window! We hightailed it up and made appoitments right away! Sarah at the front desk was Absolutley awesome! So friendly and helpful! Bob knocked my husbands hula girl out of the park! And Eric drew up the most amazing little humpback for me! My husband decided to get a tattoo on our recent visit to Maui. He called ahead and asked some questions. He was told to send a picture of what he wanted and to come into the parlor for a consultation. He gave a $100 deposit and make a consultation appointment and a tattoo appointment. When he went for the consultation, the tattoo artist was not there. When he asked the price, he was told between $300-400 depending on how long it will take. He was told it would take between 2-3 hours. He went for his tattoo and the artist was one hour late. When paying (the tattoo artist was great and fast ) they told him $650. My husband compromised at $450 with a 22% tip. My suggestion is, make sure you get accurate information. I think there should have been some type of compensation for the artist's delay. We had to pay $12.00 for parking because Tattoo Parlor would only give us a 2 hour validation! Good luck read more

At first I was nervous, but my tattoo artist worked with me to draw my design and add color. The tattoo had a lot of meaning for me. Not sure really how to start. would have given below zero. I have been getting tattooed for 40 years and have had tattoos all over the globe. I come to Maui for a vacation And decided to get the island chain tattoo. So we had to chose where to go. so we went on line and found banyan tattoo 5.0 star lmao. So we call make an appointment 3pm. I actually show up early to be considerate of the business time.get there early and check in. The tattoo artist was finishing up another tattoo. at about 3:15 my wife went in back as a walk in got a tattoo while I am sitting there stewing. So Amy still says nothing to me 45 minutes into my appointent time. No suggestions what to do. was she going to let me sit there til maybe 5 then offer suggestions. then the $204.00 for the word Ohana. when asked why so much. the answer shop minimum which was never told to us when making the appointment. So now I get to back to Florida and tell the entire world how horrible you treat people. read more

NEW AND FANTASTIC In looking for a reputable tattoo shop google was not helpful since all of the shops in Lahaina burned to the ground during the August fire and google had not made any updates. BANYAN TREE TATTOO is open at Whalers. The owner was the co-owner of Blue Hawaii in Lahaina which was destroyed. So happy to see that there are talented employees here, several who used to manage their own shops. Had a great experience, love my new tattoo and the people were like a family. Best experience ever! I highly recommend. read more

The whole staff was top notch from check in, to discussing design options, and finally the rendering itself. We were going on vacation to Maui and I really wanted a tattoo. I got quoted for the initial design that I wanted and I was still on the fence on it because I wanted to get another tattoo quoted to see how much that would cost. I was told to resubmit on the website for the quote for second tattoo and that she would call me later that night with a quote. I never got that call and it's now been over a week. And I won't call back either. If you want my business, you do what you said you'd do. read more
